Detailed Reviews
Really nice hotel. Ten minute walk into town. Much closer to the beach than we anticipated. Lovely taverna (Paradise Taverna) next to the beach. Lots of places to eat and drink. Friendly people. Hotel was really clean. Air con is extra 7 euros a night and we tried to do without it initally but caved in as it the temperature doesnt really cool down much at night. Well equiped kitchenette. Bathroom had lovely double shower tray and glass sliding shower doors - no horrible curtain here! Balcony had amazing views. Reception sold bottled water 3 euros for 6 bottles, which is good as saved carrying it up the slope. The slope is very steep and a bit of a killer initially but you get used to is by the end of the week and its worth it for the views! Pool was lovely - warm and clean and plenty of sunbeds but was never crowded and busy when we were there. Really nice quiet hotel. Suited us perfectly.

I would say there are good points to the hotel however a couple of things really did sour our stay.
Firstly the hotel is kept clean and the rooms are of a good standard for a 3 star hotel. There are shower cubicles with shower heads attached to the wall in the rooms which is a nice surprise for a Greek hotel. The pool area is also closed till 0900 hrs every morning which stops the towels being put on sunbeds at silly o'clock. The hotel is up a steep hill but this is advertised and therefore I don't think anyone can really complain as we were expecting it. The hotel is a nice walk into the centre of Tsilivi and you are there within 10 minutes. The beach is 5 minutes away.
The gentleman who cleans the pool and stays on the snack bar for most of the day is really grumpy and will only acknowledge you if you force him to. He will quite happily ignore you unless you make him speak to you. He only appears to like guests who spend lots of money on drinks and food every day and watches you like a hawk while you are around the pool.
We did ask the reception to call us a taxi one night as previously worked in Tsilivi and knew how close we were for a night out. What they actually called us was a private excursion mini bus which cost 30 euros instead of the 13 euros it should of cost and did indeed cost on the way home. Although this soured our experience and felt like the hotel was scamming its guest you live and learn. There were however groups of young people I know who fell foul of this and feel the hotel are taking backhanders. Worth being aware of for future visitors.
For anyone who wants a lovely restaurant we found the best food in Aliotiko Restaurant which is at the bottom of the long road you will walk down to get into Tsilivi and across the road slightly to the right, next to the excursion and quad bike hire. Absolutely fabulous and always busy.

We loved our stay at the Zante Palace. Yes the hill is quite steep but we do regular walks so it wasn't a problem for us at all. The hotel has great views over the area as a result of its location. The room was very good value , clean, spacious, good balcony, great maid service, nice bathroom, friendly staff. Breakfast was very good for us as you could mix up continental and English. Free Air Conditioning and some toiletries and hair dryer in our room. Safe had a small charge, The Hotel is not far from the beach and only 10 -15 minutes into town, Plenty of restaurants nearby we liked Premier (very close), The Brothers ,Ideal ("Bloody lovely") and Memories. We loved the Oasis Cocktail bar who made the best Cocktails and it was on the way out or on the way back to the hotel, We had good weather 10 nights end of May into June.

Recently returned from a 9 night stay and can not recommend the hotel highly enough. The room was nice a spacious and very clean, our bathroom had a shower cubicle which having stayed in a lot of greek hotels is quite rare. The views from the balcony are amazing.
The pool area is lovely and again with great views. The pool bar offered a good range of drinks and served delicious meals at very reasonable prices. The bar and restaurant staff are very friendly, especially Mary and Andreas.
All in all a great hotel and if we were to return to Tsilivi we would definitely stay here again.

Had a wonderful time here for 2 weeks. Views are amazing, rooms very spacious and clean. Breakfast was a very pleasant surprise as not just average continental, eggs, bacon and sausages on offer as well as cold meats. lovely walk down to Tsilivi beach about 10 mins away. If you have mobility problems then this may be not the place for you as set back up on the hill but taxis are readily available. All the best restaurants are close by, Avra, Premier, Sweet Revenge and Alvi. I would say this is the best part of the resort if you want a more traditional feel to your Greek holiday. I'd definitely stay here again.

We liked the location. While there is a steep climb up to the hotel and lots of steps between the various parts of the hotel you are rewarded with great views of the bay. It’s also outside the main town which we found too busy for our liking with lots of traffic. It’s a five to ten minute walk to restaurants etc. Less to the beach.
The staff are also extremely helpful. The pool bar staff and our cleaner were a credit to the hotel.
We liked the pool too. As our holiday progressed the pool became busier - not with people but with towels that were placed on beds as the pool opened.
Our room was clean. Bedding was clean but worn (small holes in sheets). The main bedroom was comfortable and the balcony had great views. The dividing wall between the main bedroom is not floor to ceiling so there wouldn’t be much privacy had we had another couple/ children with us. The two single beds are in the kitchen area. There are no windows in that part of the apartment.
Our bathroom had a leak all week. Every day there was an attempt to fix it. Thankfully it was clean water and our cleaner couldn’t have been more apologetic. We had to remember to slip on shoes when visiting the bathroom. The door of our bathroom cabinet was broken. This was fixed promptly.
Breakfast was a let down and neither of us wanted it after the first morning. Clearly other guests didn’t agree as we watched them carrying plates of food to their apartments after they had eaten. We made use of the fridge to store Greek yogurt and our own fresh fruit from the supermarket.
Air conditioning and the safe cost extra. The Tui small print did make reference to this but we were surprised.
In summary there were elements we liked but I had hoped for a more from reading TA reviews and pictures on the website.

Poor service and lack of air-conditioning in the room.
The hotel is located on the hill with an amazing view which was the best thing about this hotel. Apart from that few things were out of order such as poor cat smell in the reception. Air conditioning is charged €7 per day which is a little bit disappointing considering the hot weather this should be included in the room price. Breakfast was just okay as there was no fruit and the coffee was instant when normally in hotels this isn't the case. Also you are not allowed to take anything to your room. We wanted to take a couple of croissants to our room but the weitress stopped us saying we cannot take it to the room so we had to leave it with her. I've never come across anything like that where owners watch what you are doing at breakfast. Drinks in the pool bar were very expensive and you weren't allowed to bring your own drink. Overall the stay was good and I'm giving a credit to the amazing view but the service and attitude towards the guests was very poor.

just back from this hotel . Had 11 days here and although nice there are a few things that could be improved on . First the slope leading up to hotel . Two slopes one steeper than the other .I am 68 and husband 70 we did manage but on arriving had no help with suitcases even though a member of staff passed us but never offered us any help .be careful if it rains as slippery . A tip though walk up hill in a zig zag It does help . Out of the 11 days there only had hot water on three days this was after coming of beach/pool . Had to keep going to reception to ask them to put boiler on and could not phone down as phone not working .Water in morning seemed warmer . Lady on reception actually came to our room to check our water which made me think she didnt believe us. Breakfast okay but not very warm . Staff very friendly and bar food lovely also beautiful view .Air con was 7euros a day and we paid 20euros for a safe which was not fixed to the wall at all and when i mentioned this to reception she said thats okay as you are the only one with a key . Any one could carry it out and smash it open and asking a few residents about theres they said theres was fixed . thought safe was free as well .Been to Zakinthos four times now and prefer a hotel closer to town even though only a short walk there is no path for about a third of the way and when you do get on a path there are in such a state your most likely better of on the road .We used the sun beds belonging to Venus bar 12 euros for to beds and umbrella can get cheaper but these were padded and there was a bell you could ring to get drinks and food straight to sun bed. although we enjoyed our holiday unless zante is cleaned up and repairs done to paths we will not be retuning . so many people we saw with broken leg or arm .

Stayed in the school holidays with two teens. The family room, with dividing wall was sufficient but we wouldn’t have wanted to prepare food or attempt cooking in it. The restaurants in resort are great so you don’t need to! The fridge was big and the bathroom new.
We liked the breakfast, I thought the variety was good and rotated every few days.
Our view from the balcony was beautiful and the grounds were very pretty. We were prepared for the hill so it didn’t bother us. The shop at the bottom of the hill is good for supplies.
The pool was nice, always had beds available. The drinks and food at the pool bar were great value and quality and the staff were lovely.
We found that joining the Tsilivi FB page before travelling was great for information on excursions and restaurants to visit.
We would recommend and definitely stay again -we didn’t get to eat in all of the recommended restaurants!

We stayed at Zante Palace for 14 nights b&b late August till September 2021. When dropped off by our transfer you are met with the dreaded slope. This was the only downside to our holiday…dragging those cases up the hill. As soon as you are in the hotel you then get the appreciation of this hotels location. With stunning views over Tsilivi it’s well worth it. All the staff are amazing and a special call-out to Andreas and Mary who work effortlessly at both breakfast and pool bar. Get to know them, they are lovely people. Major plus was the fact that you did not have to get up early to grab a sun bed as there was always some available even when the hotel was at full capacity. The rooms were clean and food was superb. Will definitely book this hotel again next year.
