We were looking for a hotel near Corfu Town for our short vacation, which we reached after a quick drive in about 25 minutes. When we arrived in the evening, we were totally surprised by the location of the small, idyllic bay. Philoxenia was easy to find, and the parking lot directly on the hotel grounds is very convenient.
The welcome at reception was warm and we immediately took advantage of the offer of a discount if we paid in cash. Our two rooms were quickly found. When we opened the sunshade shutters, we were surprised by the clear view of the idyllic bay. The very well-kept green and flowering outdoor areas were immediately striking. Of course, because gardening was done outside every day.
The very clean rooms were quickly explored, refrigerator, safe, balcony, large TV, everything was there. The bathroom fittings were striking, apparently quite new and modern, everything was just right.
For dinner, we went straight to the "Maria" restaurant recommended by the hotel, right on the beach. Great food in the evening sun, what more could you want.
The next morning at breakfast it quickly became clear why you can feel completely at home. Family-run hotel, everyone is very committed and friendly, and you can read the guests' wishes from their eyes. You hardly find such an attitude these days.
You can relax by the pool, drink delicious coffee (and everything else too, of course) and snack on the highly recommended chicken pita.
As we had to be at the airport at 8 a.m. on the last day, the full breakfast was served at 7 a.m. without any problems.

We can sum it up in one sentence: Thank you very much, we will be back.

This is the friendliest, most customer orientated hotel we have ever stayed at.

We booked directly quite late. I have some mobility issues and I wanted to clarify if this was suitable accommodation. Spiridon the hotel owner/manager could not have been more helpful in advance, responding to every email I sent instantly. On arrival he turned out to be just as helpful and charming.

We learned very quickly that all the staff were equally helpful, whether it be restaurant staff, cleaners and bar personnel. It's a family run hotel and it shows.

While only a 3* hotel there is much to suggest a higher rating - the views, the location, the breakfasts, Mr Takis' wonderful Mojitos Ok, the rooms are a bit basic but we had a delightful balcony with a view running down the steeply wooded hillsides down to the Ionian Sea. The air conditioning works well and the cleaning is excellent. Maybe a bit of room refurbishment would be helpful.

A bit more about mobility issues. The hotel is spread over 4 levels on a steep sloping hillside. There aren't and couldn't be any lifts. There are lots of stairs and a a stick user I quickly learned the most accessible routes from our bedroom to, reception, the breakfast area and pool/bar. However very few of the flights of steps have stair rails. Surely these could be installed at a relatively low cost? Having said that staff were once again incredibly helpful, offering supportive arms etc. This hotel would not be suitable for wheelchair users.

I must mention Mr Takis, Spiridon's father. A true multi-tasker he seems around all day, helping out at breakfast, organising trips and excursions, airport runs etc. However his main task is to run the pool bar . He does this with friendly efficiency but most importantly he makes the best Mojitos I've ever tasted!

I have some health issues but if I can overcome those we will be next year.Spiridon is aware of this and the flights are already booked.

I've not added any photos. Mine don't do the hotel justice. Those on the website are100% accurate.

I had a good stay in this hotel though attention for others like me who will go based on the comments of others: I read that the hotel was ideally located with bus stop next door so certainly there is a bus stop that allows to go to Corfu but only Corfu, no bus to visit the other villages, it is actually located in a quiet resort that is not armored with tourists and that is a good point but there is nothing around! So if you don't rent a car or take excursions you get bored very quickly! So there is indeed way to make excursions with the hotel some at affordable prices others frankly expensive for what it is. The pool is nice with beautiful sea views, clean and never shielded there is always room, at least at the time when I was there. There are 2 restaurants, a supermarket, a diving club and enough to rent vehicles nearby, a quiet stretch of beach with deckchair but which belong especially for those who are in the big hotel at the foot and it does not stop there what to take care of for 15 days. The staff is friendly, my room was downstairs so I didn't have the great sea view but those upstairs had to enjoy it better. The rooms are clean on arrival, the maids pass every day a canvas and ventilate, retype the bed but only retype it, the sheets are not changed. The towels are changed every 3 days. There is hair dryer, TV (1 only French channel), air conditioning, enough to spread its laundry, mini fridge and mosquito net to the windows (big more!). On the other hand if you have light sleep plan quies balls and eye mask because the hotel is poorly insulated, you hear everything the neighbors do, the chairs of the restaurant that hang out, the doors that slam, and people who speak loudly in the hallway from 7am.. moreover everything that is air conditioning, fridge, ventilation are noisy also so to sleep next door it is not obvious. There are shutters in the windows but let the day pass and no double curtains so impossible to sleep in the dark! As for the breakfast it's okay, there is something for all tastes both sweet and savory, just the fruit juices that are vile but as in all hotels, in all countries (believe they come in the same place 😅) far too chemical and sweet. Otherwise it remains a nice, pleasant and quiet hotel you just have to plan a good budget car rental / excursions to be able to move.

The Hotel Philoxenia has a splendid view of the beach of Ermones that offers beautiful sunsets and is located in a quiet location away from the chaos, ideal for a relaxing holiday. Equipped with all comforts with sea view rooms and terrace equipped with deck chairs, table and chairs. Cleanliness and order throughout the property.
Breakfast is plentiful with a wide choice of fresh products, both sweet and savory. It is possible to have lunch in the pool garden and dine at Taverna Maria directly on the beach with excellent traditional Greek cuisine.
The Hotel is managed by the Telonis Family, all the staff was always kind, hospitable and helpful towards us especially Mr. Takis, the "flagship" of the hotel that made us feel like family because he is a really SPECIAL person!!! always thoughtful and ready to meet every request of customers.
It is also very nice to spend hours in the pool where you can sip the FABULOUS Mojito prepared by Takis, the best I have ever tried, sitting in the bar inside the pool...... SPECTACULAR!
I highly recommend this Hotel because I had a pleasant stay.

Last weekend we returned from a week at the Philoxenia Hotel, Corfu. We are very happy with our choice. Our stay was super comfortable and enjoyable.

The hotel is conveniently located in a small beautiful bay with a wonderful view of the sea and a 5-minute walk from the beach.

Mr. Takis Telonis and his family personally greet all arriving guests and take care that everything is in order. This is a very welcoming and hardworking family, they do everything to make guests feel good. And they take pride in good service they offer. We could always turn to Mr. Takis and his family with any request, knowing that we would be answered and helped. The atmosphere in the hotel is very friendly.

The hotel is always clean, the rooms are thoroughly cleaned every day. Towels are changed as often as needed. Air conditioning works well. Breakfast is varied and delicious. In the afternoon you can have a delicious lunch (including traditional Greek food) under the thick shade of an oak tree next to the pool, with a beautiful view of the sea and a fresh breeze. For us it was very convenient, as we did not want to stay in the daytime heat on the beach. And yes, Takis's Majitos are the best - ideal balance of ingredients and great taste.

At the entrance to the beach there is a restaurant also owned by the family of the hotel owners. We could enjoy delicious food by the sea and with a view of the sunset in the evenings.

There were not too many people on the beach. Sunbeds and umbrellas can be rented at affordable prices. And we really enjoyed renting a SUP, a canoe and a small boat from the charming lady owner. We highly recommend renting a motor boat and exploring from the water the beautiful coastline towards Palaiokastritsa.

We had a good rest, had a lot of fun and will be happy to come again.

We stayed at Hotel Philoxenia for a week and it was great experience. We arrived at Corfu airport around midnight and driver was ready to pick us up, arranged by a hotel and free. Breakfast is really nice, a lot of things to choose and a lot of local specialties (definitely try feta with olive oil and kumquat sweets). Rooms were cleaned every day and spotless, cleaning lady always smiling and helpful. We have 2 year old son and had few accidents but all was cleaned fast. Location is great for exploring the island and also quiet, with not many tourists. Takis and Spiridon were really helpful with tips and recommendations. We rented a car from a local 1car rental (also great) and explored the island, so we didn't stay much at pool, but we had to try Takis mojito and it was great. Overall, this hotel is great value for money, run by Takis and his family which really care to provide their guests the most pleasant stay and vacation.

Located in Ermones and close to the beach, in one of Corfu's most picturesque coves, the family hotel impressed us with the friendly atmosphere, cleanliness and warmth of the family.

The rooms are very modern and very tastefully decorated, the sea view is unforgettable no matter what time of day. By the pool you can enjoy the sublime silence above the bay and towards the afternoon/evening a sensational sunset. For this we recommend one of the legendary mojitos of the pool bar as "Sundowner". Afterwards, you can take a very casual stroll to the tavern Maria on the beach, which also belongs to the family, where you can enjoy authentic and extremely delicious Greek/Corfiotic food with a beer/wine and ouzo in the company of the sea and the evening atmosphere during and after sunset.

Ermones is located in the middle of the west coast of Corfu and offers an ideal starting point for exploring Corfu. We recommend Corfu town, but also the wonderful beaches in the south and north, the "Old Stones" so sights and of course the olive mills.

The distance to Corfu airport is about 1/2 hour by car. A rental car, small and agile, is obligatory for those keen to explore.

We really enjoyed our 14 day stay and will not forget the time at Philoxenia. Πολλά πολλά ευχαριστώ

We arrived at the Philoxenia hotel for a stay of around two weeks, in the middle of the night and had a very warm welcome with support in our room.

It’s a hotel run by a beautiful family, they all care about our well-being and welcomed us like princes. Our stay in this hotel was exceptional, Takis and his family are always there to grant our wishes with kindness and good humor!
Ideally positioned on the edge of the Ionian Sea in a green setting, it is the ideal place to recharge your batteries.
Just a stone's throw away you can rent a car or a scooter.

We had a room with a terrace with a breathtaking sea view.

The day begins with breakfast included in the room price, ideally taken on the terrace with a view of the sea. No matter what time we woke up, we always had a copious choice of both savory and sweet dishes. as a bonus the good humor of Takis, always there, to advise us or introduce us to vacationers who shared their experience with us.

We had planned to rent a car but ultimately we discovered Corfu by scooter... traveling the roads not always accessible by car and above all avoiding traffic jams around Corfu in particular...

We had the choice of staying at the hotel and enjoying the magnificent swimming pool with numerous sun loungers at our disposal, always the possibility of being in the shade or in the sun facing the swimming pool, the sea or the lush nature, all in peace…
A special mention for the famous and delicious Takis Mojito which he makes with mint that he picks directly from his garden and which can be enjoyed in the swimming pool on one of the bar stools or while lying in the sun.

For lunch, there is a small restaurant where you can enjoy Greek specialties, salads, sandwiches, a plate of fresh fruit... in the shade of an ancient oak tree, Takis is always there. to pamper us with his usual good humor.

In the evening, we also have the opportunity to dine in the hotel restaurant with a breathtaking view of the sea and breathtaking sunsets... here Alessandro takes great care of us and offers us Greek specialties, a delicious Sea bream, Carbonara pasta…. all this at an affordable price!

During our stay, on the advice of Takis, we took a day cruise on a speedboat, we were around fifteen people, and the captain did not hesitate to accelerate and take us off !! We had lunch in a small restaurant on the beach of Antipaxos, then we made a 2-hour stop at Gaios on the island of Paxos where we wandered the streets and enjoyed an ice cream on a shaded terrace.
Without forgetting the caves of Paxos and swimming with the blue fish 😉a superb day which will leave us with unforgettable memories.

It really is the ideal place to recharge your batteries and we had an exceptional vacation!

Thank you again Takis, for his excellent Mojito, his kindness and his kindness, he greatly contributed to our well-being during our stay and we are keen to return in the coming years.

The best 3-star hotel that we've ever stayed in! We can only recommend Philoxenia <3.
Everything was perfect during our 1 week stay:
Extremely helpful and friendly staff, we could get any information from Takis, who also helped us to organize our lovely boat trip, convenient hotel location allowed us to easily access all planned spots, car parking was available.
Our room was very clean and comfortable, we loved the big swimming pool area with sea view, where we could even grab the famous Takis mojito and milkshakes directly from the water, enjoying the incredible sunsets with music and chill atmosphere.
Also, big thumb up to hotel's Odyssey restaurant and its excellent service. Thanks to Alex and his outstanding team we tasted delicious, freshly made dishes, especially fresh local fish and the desserts were amazing. It's a must-visit restaurant for any food lover.

You can see that all staff puts a lot of effort to make their guests happy and have an outstanding stay.
This was definitely our case and Philoxenia becomes our go-to choice for accommodation whenever we'll travel again to the island.

Dear Philoxenia, BIG THANK YOU for a truly memorable experience, we will be more than thrilled to come back to Corfu and see you again!
ευχαριστώ!

It was really an amazing honeymoon at philoxenia hotel in corfu. Everything is great starting the sweet hospitality from Mr. Taxos and his family, the panoramic sea view mixed with green mountain view beyond from our room (106) is highly recommended . The fresh air and quiet relaxing atmosphere, the clean room(sweet smiling woman clean it and change the bedsheets every day)and the clean well organized bathroom(provided with towels, tissue, soup, shampoo, hair cap and hair dryer). The room is big not small for us . Hotel is really cozy .. The breakfast there is yummy. Hotdogs, feta cheese , baked items ,greek yoghurt and nuts cakes , ect..... . I was really happy there . The location is mid of the island.. if you have a car you can visit all places at north or south . 1 hour from paleokatestrista at north , canal d amour or kasioppe . 25 min from old town..there is a bus 5 min walking from hotel have many trips to aqua land , glyfada beach ( which is beautiful sandy beach) and near to the hotel , trip to corfu and many places . The price of the hotel is suitable with all these excellent survices . We loved the idea of the back stair there (you don't have to go through the main hall if you wet after beach or anything). They provide a nice free space for parking . There is a rent a car very close to the hotel also. And many small markets with reasonable prices . Ther is a beautiful swimming pool also and small one for children . And the hotel offer a restaurant for lunch or dinner but we didn't have the chance to try it . I can't find anything I don't like about my stay there .. I just was so sad when we were leaving 😢.

Yes. We are pescatarian but most of the time just ate vegetarian food (but including feta cheese - so not purist). Lots of local fruit and vegetables.

Ermones is quite a quiet resort but if your teenagers want discos they will have to go a bit further a field. LocalTaverna Nausicaa does themed evenings of local music and dancing. Hope you find this helpful.

Dear Mrs Sassy, Hallo from corfu island! I hope you are fine! There are buses from our place to corfu town and to glyfada(major beach of corfu) and palaiokastitsa(a gorgeous place with many beaches). The water park is only 6 km far from our hotel(you can go there by bus or car, motorbike). With car or motorbike you can go easily around the island because our hotel is located in the middle of the island(an ideal location to go either north or south).I would not recommend quad because in my opinion it is dangerous(roads are not in very good condition) I hope you have a great evening!
