I have a family of 5. We have been staying at this hotel three summers now, and we have always been very happy with everything: spotless, spacious rooms; brilliant communal spaces (including an indoor pool, a sauna, a steam room and a jacuzzi); super delicious food (you can choose your evening meal in the morning, as you stuff your face at the fantastic breakfast buffet: pick and mix from three menus and, if you have any dietary needs, they are bending backwards to accomodate them and make you happy! You can even choose the size of your portions, to avoid waste, but they always seem very big to us). Service is excellent: the place is family owned and run and you can feel that even the employees really care about your experience of the place, always polite, kind and very helpful. When it comes to its location, the hotel is high up and a bit of a drive from the town of Toblach, a very pretty and lively town, full of events and beautiful shops; it takes about 15 minutes to get to the hotel, but it's definitely worth the ride, as the views are absolutely stunning, the nights are quieter than if you were at the bottom of the valley, and the woods are close by for a lovely evening stroll or to just enjoy the forest-y smell from the hotel's terrace or your bedroom's balcony. I don't know what it's like in the winter, I presume absolutely magical, but in the summer is just perfect, you just have to avoid the time when we are going, so you can't suffer my children practicing on the beautiful piano that the owner very kindly lets them use!

We booked this hotel because when we had a look of it we had a feeling that was the right place to find peaceful place in the nature, good homemade dishes, family welcoming and finally relax. We were right, Alpenhotel Ratsberg was more of that starting from the amazing view of Dolomites. Everything was included in a well balanced bill. Only one suggestion about the SPA, it's nice but maybe too crowded and without space enough to relax after the sauna.

We had two rooms with a balcony and mountain views which were breathtaking. Bedrooms were clean and spacious. The owners were very helpful and friendly. Great choice of breakfast and food in the restaurant was out of this world. You could use a spa as well but unfortunately we did not have our bathing costumes with us. Visit to the Tre Cime national park is a must as well.

When you arrive at a hotel you can usually tell within 5 mins if its going to be up to your standards,we realised we'd found somewhere special on the drive up, this hotel is 5km above the village!!!, the views are nothing short of spectacular, the Dolomites are literally in front of you,in the morning you are actually above the clouds which is also a spectacular scene, with regard to the hotel itself the family who own and run it are very friendly and welcoming,we booked a mountain view room which is what we got!!!,the rooms are typically alpine with lots of wood, the bathroom is also a great place with a brilliant shower, all in all we will return for sure to a beautiful setting in the very near future
