We completely enjoyed our experience at Borgo alle Vigne in March 2019. The location of the hotel gave us to access by car each day to cities and towns in Italy we would never have managed to see so easily. We stocked our kitchen with food offered in advance and then with a few

Terricciola itself was a wonderful little town to visit and stroll through! The shops and boutiques were nice also. Several other local small towns and villages around the area were very quaint and nice as well.

I have owned with Hilton since 2006 and this was one of my best trips ever. I took my mom as a gift for her 70th birthday. We flew into the Pisa airport and stayed Sunday to Sunday. Some things are closed on Sundays so just be prepared for that. The staff were great and

Our stay at Borgo Alle Vigne was wonderful. You are within driving distance to many small villages in Tuscany. We shared a 2 bedroom 2 1/2 bath condo with friends. The accommodations were great. The concierges were very helpful arranging tours, giving directions, and answering

Pontedera is the large town just north of the resort. They have a pretty big train station and service to Florence, Sienna, Rome, etc. You can actually use google maps to get a schedule. Type in Pontedera to Firenze or Florence and it will tell you times and trains once you choose rail instead of car. Double check the schedules with TrentItalian, the Italian train service. It is a 45 minute ride through beautiful Tuscany. Enjoy!

There are several nearby "drive-to" restaurants. Ristorante Pizzeria da Carlo. No reservations needed for pizza orders. Dine in best make reservations. La Sorgente Casa vacanze - Ristorante - Via Volterrana - Loc. Bosco, 56033 Capannoli PI. Groceries - Supermercato CONAD, Via Boccaccio, 26, 56033 Capannoli PI. Be sure to ask for a shopping card to get the local discounts. There's a grocery store restaurant which is good for lunch. The front desk folks have a list of other places.

Hello NGL. #1 - Borgo with 10 and 12 year olds. We have met kids with their parents at Borgo. They love the 10:00 AM bread truck. Borgo has a pool it is not heated. As grand parents with your age children, Pisa should interest them - the Leaning Tower is cool. Nearby you can drive to Vinci the birth place of Leonardo. A Vinci trip would be a school day for the kids, very educational. Collodi - home of the original Pinocchio is nearby. They have a kids park but it is not Disney. English language is available but Italian dominates the displays. The kids will have to read everything....boring maybe...haha Italy for kids would be a cultural vacation. Prep them to avoid complications...:) Because we own at Borgo we have no problem with booking. Start 9 months out and call every week. Borgo is a very nice Italian property. You can drive to the local grocery store and load up on family groceries as if you were in Florida. Good food and wine is not a problem. Borgo is in a farming region. You have to drive to get around. As for driving - obey the speed signs and learn to spot the speed trap cameras. You can always telephone the Borgo front desk. They are local happy friendly folks. Any kid type questions - suggestions they can help. FYI - we are planning our 2020 grand kids trip to Italy too. They will be 13 and 14. A good age for Italian culture travel.

Our travels from Rome to Borgo - Rome to Florence by train. Then regional train from Florence to Pisa - where we rented our car from Liberty car rental. You can rent a car at the Florence train station. Your call.
