Nothing-special food with the most stunning panorama view in town. Peaceful place, free from tourist masses. But well, there are the business groups. Waiters should learn what funghi means. Good lunch for a sunny day.
We had a shortly and great experience in Laje de Pedra Hotel. Nice and comfortable rooms, courteous staff, excellent and delicious breakfast, cool space for kids, great social area for meeting, beautiful and amazing view.
The only good thing about this hotel is the view to the sierras, however i'll describe my short stay here. When we pulled up to the hotel, at first glance things looked great given the location, the spa situated next to the hotel and concierge awaiting to take our bags, which is always a good sign, but the building needed a serious clean and a paint job. The moment we stepped into the hotel, things went downhill very fast. The interior looked as if it was stuck in the 70's given the decor looking very old, and smelled like it too and it was extremely cold. We were told by a former employee that they never switch on any central heating, which the hotel has as evident by the huge array of radiators throughout. The same guy told us that years ago, the hotel was always busy...back in the 90's, but it was a ghost town for us. Check in was a long, drawn out process. I stepped outside for 15 minutes to take in the surroundings and my wife was still dealing with the receptionist. Then after another 10-15 minutes which included handing over cash to pay for the room in advance as they don't do electronic payments over internet or by card, we managed to get our keycards and we proceeded to go to our room. On our way to our room, which is a HUGE walk around the complex, we saw abandoned pools, restaurants, shop, lounge areas, all of which looked like the rest of the hotel, old and dull, and it made the hotel look like something reminicent to The Shining. The long corridors void of life was very unsettling. Our room was very cold with nothing but an electric AC/heater to warm the place up, but it had usual facilities such as a tv with half channels scrambled due to poor signal, non-working radiators, a safe, overpriced minibar, but the bathroom was decent enough. However, the biggest problem we had was the double bed...sorry, i mean the 2 SINGLE BEDS PUSHED TOGTHER. The single beds are covered over with a double sized bedsheet to disguise the singles. We complained about this and the hotel said that since they don't get couples staying often, which is a load of garbage as we saw plenty of couples, they don't keep double beds. I tell a lie, they do have double beds but due to no couples ever staying there so they say, they dont let anyone use the double rooms. All double rooms, including the honeymoon suite, have been locked off. Breakfast was nothing memorable. Cold meats, cheeses, cereal, cakes, juices, coffee and a wide variety of hot foods which consisted of scrambled egg, sausage and cheese bread....that's it, nothing more, and when we went to get breakfast, the eggs would have run out or the sausage would be freezing. The only good thing about breakfast is the view to the sierras which is the best part of the hotel. Check out was a farce. After another 15 minutes of hanging around, the hotel wanted to charge my wife more than the agreed price that she paid on ebookers.com. After a lengthy conversation with the manager, who wasn't interested in our situation, we decided to pay the extra 65Rs and got the hell out of there. Do yourself a favour, don't come here if you're staying in Canela. Sure it may be of a reasonable value but it's not worth the experience. There are other hotels/houses to rent within the same complex as this hotel and many others in the surrounding area that i'm sure are far superior. Bear in mind, im speaking about my own experience during my short stay and i would never, ever come back.…
This is one of the best and traditional hotels in Canela/Gramado (RS). Excellent breakfast with a wonderfull view to a cannyon, The staff is friendly. There is a very good recreation space for kids. The rooms are good, the restaurant is also good and there is a fire-place where the guests can join for a wine.
Went there twice with family. Both were really enjoyable! Staff is really nice, the place is beautiful, rooms are big and very, very confortable. Certainly the right hotel to stay a few days! Didnt have the chance to eat in the hotel restaurant, but looks good!
