Detailed Reviews
Well equipped, light and cozy apartment. Very clean. Great sauna. Two separate beds could be removed together :-) and the beds were very good. Free parking beside the apartment. Very close to supermarket. We enjoyed!

Stayed in one of the simpler cottages for the third time this summer. Very nice place in the heart of Muonio, close to beach and supermarkets, but still a very quiet and relaxing place. Lovely owners that are always ready to help out. Both cottages and showers/toilets and clean and well maintained.

We stayed couple days with caravan. Peaceful area beside the river and swimming place, in the middle of Muonio, nearby shops. Nice, clean and well maintained service building with toilets, sauna & showers, friendly owners and service, good price,

Staff was friendly. Walking distance to sweden. Great place if you want a place to stay while fishing. Enjoyed the stay very much. The town is small. There was plenty of mushrooms if you k ow which ones are good. The place is right across the street from the river.

While hotels and luxury resorts abound in the Levi to Muonio area, it is more challenging to stay in the area more independently in terms of food and transport in winter times.
Located close to the the center of the village of Muonio, yet overlooking the swamp and close enough to winter activity providers, we found Lomamaja Pekonen offering exactly what we were looking for: a comfortable apartment with kitchen and sauna for an honest and affordable price. It helped us keep the price of our Lapland trip down without having to book a all-in/do-what-everyone-does stay with other providers.

Lomamaja Pekonen is easy to be found in Muonio and offers small wooden houses with two accommodations each consisting of a living room with well-equipped modern kitchenette, double bed sleeping room, bath room and a private sauna. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the property is well maintained and clean.
From my experience a perfect hub in winter time to enjoy the beauty of the deeply snow covered Finish landscape with its typical pine forests, close to the beautiful National Park Pallas.

Paikka ylitti kaikki odotukset!/ The place exceeded all expectations!
Vuokraamamme mökin (Ruska) paikasta ja huoneista oli kuvia, mutta silti olimme iloisesti yllättyneitä!/ There were pictures of the location and the rooms of the cottage we rented (Ruska), but we were still pleasantly surprised!

We reserved the cottage after long hike on a late schedule. There were only these tiny cottages left with no facilities with very reasonable prices. It was still no problem as the commom use toilets and showers were clean and near.
Welcoming was warm and we reserved a private sauna which was no problem even though we asked it basically right away.
The cottage was a bit of old and outdated with stale smell but suited our needs very well.

We stayed here for what turned out to be a few days at the end of November in low season. My husband is a car transporter driver and had to deliver to the winter testing track close by. We had to wait in the area so rented on of the lovely little cottages here. There was plenty of room to park the trucks in the area where motor homes park in the summer. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and spoke great English. The cottage was warm, cosy and clean, with a small kitchenette and everything you need. There was a bedroom with twin beds and also a sofa-bed in the living area. There was even a small sauna off the wet-room which we made use of. The living area had a large TV with a few UK channels and the free wifi is extra good! The view from our cottage, which was up the hill, was amazing! The holiday village is very close to Muonio centre where there are several supermarkets a couple of cafes and a few other shops which we used.
