Considering its remote location, the STF Turistation was a wonderful place to live in. Though we had gone to see the Northern Lights, we chalked up a lot of dogsleding, photo tours and snowmobiling. We booked these with third parties who conveniently, came to the turistation to pick us up. The friendly and well informed staff were a pleasure to... More

The STF Abisko Mountain Station was built in the 1950's, and this is evident in the Spartan surrounds. The rooms nonetheless were large and clean, with modern bathroom facilities. All areas of Abisko were close and easy to access. The dining was exceptional, with world class cuisine and a top notch breakfast buffet.

Really comfortable accommodation. Most surprising thing of all is the food! We booked on a full board basis and the breakfast, lunch and dinner was splendid. The dinner every night was a 3 course fine-dining ish set up and the food was excellent! I did not expect that especially given the location of the Turistation which seems so remote and... More

Amazing hostel. We stayed in comfortable cabins but there was limited hot water. Each cabin had two bedrooms, a living area, a kitchen, a toilet, bathroom and a facility for drying clothes. The hostel has amazing staff, a small souvenir shop and an exquisite restaurant. It also provides many Aurora related excursions. Would definitely recommend this one :)

Svanta and the team in the dining room at the AbiskoTuriststation were top notch! Wonderful service professional and friendly, the food was lovely a surprisingly gourmet for this rustic place. The accommodations were rustic and sparse by American standards but clean and everything you needed to relax and enjoy. We stayed one of the cabins. The front desk reception was... More

Our night at Abisko started with the 2km chairlift up to the station, with virtually no light pollution and clear sky's the view of the stars was stunning and so much clearer than I have ever seen before. We were welcomed to the summit station with a warming glass of Vodka and lingonberry juice. The meal served at the lodge... More

PROS - Location: Basic establishments (e.g. supermarket, restaurant, train station) are within walking distance. Abisko Mountain Lodge is also the starting point for most winter activities, such as snowmobiling and dogsledding. - Staff: The staff was friendly and responsive to our needs. A travel companion realized an hour after checkout that she left her bag containing essential documents and valuable... More

We stayed two nights here as we were doing the Abisko Sky Station dinner. This hotel operated the Sky Station as well so staff were seen at both places. The dinner at the top of the mountain was very pricey but we were happy to try it in our search for the Northern Lights. We were lucky that the night... More

Delicious food in a lovely setting. Nightly set menu offers quality local flavors. Had pickled herring, venison and lingonberries for dinner. Well worth a visit. Buffet style lunch (we had fish cakes, potatoes and several types of salad) is delicious also. Gormet tea, coffee and hot chocolate also available here.

We stayed at Abisko STF for two nights as part of a Lappland Media tour with Peter Rosen and David Evans. I cannot recommend it enough. The rooms are huge, and have everything that you need. They are simple (ie not luxurious) but warm, clean, spacious and well organised. The Hotel has a guest laundry which we found to be... More
