Our family had Breakfast at The Gougane Barra Hotel . Parents and four children aged 16 to 11. Setting is wonderful, view across the lake to the little church, with reflection on still water. The breakfast was excellent, Lots of choices, food and service was excellent. It was a great start to our Holiday 5 star ⭐
Was hoping to get some photographs of the area at sunset and decided to treat myself to a stay over in the Gougane Barra hotel. Very friendly and efficient team working at the hotel. Always a word for you which is so unusual when staying at other hotels. Room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice. All in all a great stay and hoping to stay again when I travel down to capture the Autumn colours.
We stayed in the Gougane Barra Hotel for 2 nights for Our daughters wedding on the 18th July amid strict restrictions due to covid 19. From the moment we arrived we were met with a warm welcome from friendly and efficient staff. The hotel was spotless and the rooms were exceptional, nothing was too much trouble. We were only able to confirm the wedding once the government announced the changes, but even within-the short time Neil and Katie had everything organized. The food was amazing and there was no issue managing dietary requirements. Katie even made fresh baked gluten free scones for the coeliacs in our group. Every single plate served was perfection, and full of flavor. Every Service was seamless, and while the staff adhered to all the Covid requirements they did so with minimum fuss. Neil, Katie and their team did everything they could to ensure perfection for Our daughter, her husband and all of us. We will definitely be back again, Well done everyone. …
This is a three star hotel with five star service and standards. From the time we arrived at this lovely family run hotel in a tranquil setting overlooking a lake with fabulous scenery, we felt relaxed and welcomed. The rooms are perfect, the food gorgeous and the staff were all friendly. There are gorgeous walks in the forest as well as the Sli Gaeltacht Mhuscrai section of the Beara Breifne Way right on your doorstep if hill walking is your thing. A perfect spot for a getaway- highly recommended.
