Great place to stay in the centre of Thakhek. Beautiful decorated and restored colonial style building and just a stone throw away from the mighty Mekong. We stayed in the suite and it was well worth the money. Large rooms, huge showers and a enormous balcony overlooking the busy street below. Good choice of food options around from riverside restaurant to local no fuss noodle shops - all within walking distance of the hotel. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Only downside being in the centre of town is the street noise and unfortunately the windows can't block out. Definitely not for light sleepers.
The Inthira at Thakek is a wonderful hotel that offers clean, comfortable rooms. We were planning on staying one night but ended up sleeping here for 3 nights on our trip to Thakek. The hotel has a fantastic location, a minute's walk away from the river front where you can watch the sunset over Thailand. Each room has a comfortable bed with clean, soft bedding. Each room has toiletries provided, as well as a mini-fridge, a hairdryer and towels. I would highly recommend this as a place to stay in the town. However, the restaurant did run out of food very quickly, so this limited our options of what we could eat, which was a shame. However, the food we did have was delicious. The breakfast was filling and you could order extra if you wished.
Very hard to understand the staff in the lobby.. They just dont seem to care.. and the rooms are very dusty and noisy.. if you like a good night sleep, it is best to find another place.. not very pleasant, certainly not for the price! The price simply dont match the quality. looks good on the outside but you get disappointed
An old refurbished building with all its old charm. Some floors are creaky, and the WiFi in my room was spotty, but the room was clean and well kept. Soap in bathroom was natural handmde and nicely scented gel in shower. Breakfast was nothing special, but adequate (not the usual buffet set-up with many choices, but you can order (in my case) eggs as you want. Overall happy with stay and will come again.
We stayed here for 2 weeks and were so sad to leave all our new friends who work here. Every day we looked forward to the smiling faces that awaited us for breakfast and again when we came back from the many activities around the area. The hotel was clean with a great location, restaurant was delicious, and the staff were amazing. We will definitely be back:)
The rooms are over priced for what you get. The second and third floors are not recommended for older guests or those with young children. The stairs are steep. If you are looking for a jungle adventure in the city - try the third floor - extremely steep stairs, toilet make noise all nights and the monster water tank for the entire hotel is next to your room. Not to mentioned the fashionable glass blocks in the shower room, its the wall - facing the hall, Creepy. The wood floors are pretty but the creaky. The doors are nice - but they squeak, maybe that is why most rooms hang the Do Not Disturb sign on the door. If you drink a cold bottle of water you may be charged - but if you drink the non chilled one - you may not be charged.
Unfortunately, it seems I am not the only one that had issues with cancellation and responsiveness from this property. I had booked at Inthira Thakek in late July but due to delays in my transportation, I had to change plans and cancel my room. The first message I sent about my stay was 72 hours before my arrival, no response. Then I sent a formal cancellation request via the booking site, still no response. I had even enlisted staff at another Inthira branch to contact them. Finally, after several more days, I had a response telling me they could not even login to their account to check messages. In the end, I had to pay the 40 dollar cancellation fee by cancelling myself via the website I booked through. Though I understand the need to pay a fee, given the amount of notice I gave the property, not getting a response at all is particularly galling. And, if they wanted to, they could have saved me the money through the formal cancellation request but, again, either they could not due to incompetence, or did not want to.…
We only had a one night stay here but would have loved it to be longer! We arrived early for check in after a long, dusty songthaew journey and were delighted when the friendly staff checked us in early. We were shown upstairs to our huge room, with a wrap around balcony and fabulous view across fountain square and on to the Mekong river. There was a big comfy bed, quiet A/C, comfy couch, thick curtains to keep the sun out and a big bathroom with a powerful, hot, rainfall shower. There was a lovely seating area on the landing outside our room and I noticed mosquito coils were lit on there at evening time to keep the little pests at bay! We made use of the booking agent based at the hotel to book our onward tickets to Pakse - this all went ahead without a hitch and our tuk tuk even arrived early. We ate several times at the restaurant. Had lunch and dinner there - chose from the wide selection of East and Western dishes on the menu. All was really tasty, well presented and reasonably priced. Our breakfast there was great too - cooked to order rather than buffet style, so it was nice and fresh. I would highly recommend a stay here.…
I was and am very pleased with my stay at Inthira in Thakhek. A professional service from beginning to end with pleasant and friendly staff. There is a tourist information desk located to the left-hand side of the check-in desk which was very informative and helpful (I’m doing the Thakhek Loop). The room was modern and clean. Sheets and pillows were fresh that day. The aircon was perfect. At one point it was so cold that I had to turn the ceiling fan off. Fancy that! In 40 odd degree heat I was perfectly comfortable in my room. The barman was very nice. He actually bothered to have a conversation with me as he could see I was on my own. I think he was trying to better his English and I obliged him as I also think it is a good thing that people learn English. Overall a very good experience and I will be in Thakhek again after the loop so will not bother looking for anywhere else.…
The hotel is very nice, good price and good staff. The room are nice and clean But I found a lot of hair in my eggs for breakfast, really disgusting. I think I will be not back anymore. L'hotel è bello centrale, pulito ma nella colazione ed in particolare nelle uova ho trovato parecchi capelli.
