We spent a long weekend at Paige Pond Country Inn. The location provided a quiet space that was perfect for getting away from crowds of people. The accommodations were simple, clean and well appointed. Exactly what we needed after spending long days at the beach. I can't wait to return to Antigua and we'll definitely stay at Paige Pond again.

We were a group of 7 who were struggling to find accommodation in Antigua as the cricket was on. We took a chance on this accommodation and it was excellent. Very clean, hot showers and comfortable beds with perfect white sheets. Staff were lovely and contacted me after we left to inform us we had left an electric toothbrush and shirt which they delivered free of charge to the airport. Great service and great value for money. 😃

I really enjoyed my stay! It was clean, great views, and the best part was the air conditioning. It got so cold in my room I needed a blanket. Centrally located and very responsive staff. The kitchenette was very useful, too! I would stay here again!

Paige Pond Country Inn is a cut above the rest. We previously stayed there as it was recommended to us by a friend who stayed there too. Our first stay was great and again this time, we were not disappointed. The Manager, Julie, would go above and beyond to make you comfortable. The staff is quite friendly and helpful in every way possible.

The rooms are well kept. Quite comfortable. It's like a home away from home. Room services great.

If you are looking for a hotel with a beautiful country setting, Paige Pond Country Inn is the place to book. We would recommend this Country Inn as first choice. We would give them 10 stars if that was an option.

My husband and I stayed at the Paige Pond Country Inn and loved it. It's very clean and quiet. WiFi and cable TV worked well. We didn't know where anything was on the island after arriving, and the owner was very helpful in helping us get some food late in the evening. The next time we go to Antigua, we will definitely stay here again. Thanks to the staff for making us feel welcome and very comfortable.

On my first night here, I was actually planning my return!
Paige Pond is located in the heart of Antigua, not close to any of the beaches, although the beaches are easily accessible by bus or taxi. I loved the location because it made me feel so close to nature. The views are breathtaking. It is a fairly new building so the place is immaculate! There is a full kitchen, so you can prepare your own meals....no need to walk with your own utensils....they have everything! No need to bring insect repellent, no mosquitoes here (even though it's country!)
I was most impressed with the hospitality of the staff, actually, with everyone I met on the island. They are always willing to help.
This is a budget accommodation so don't be too surprised at how low the rates are!

Why bother with all those security gated, high-walled (often barbed-wired) all-inclusive expensive 'resorts'?

To do proper justice to Antigua, and at half the price, grab a cheap flight, a pre-booked rental car from the airport and stay at Paige Pond.

Not long back from 15 days doing just that. Very spacious 'standard room' was, in fact, 5 separate rooms (lounge, dining, bedroom, bathroom & kitchen), all very clean and comfortable. The odd mosquito, but hey, this is the Tropics!

Apart from the tree frogs and hum of the odd air-conditioner or two (we didn't bother using ours), utter peace and tranquillity of an evening, supping the local tinnies (from the more than adequately sized fridge) on the terrace, and home-cooked chicken (seemingly the island's favourite source of protein!) from one of the many very well stocked supermarkets, the nearest being just 5 minutes away by car in Liberta.

Eggs and turkey bacon (recommended) for breakfast, and then 'decision making' time....which beach? Although many are sadly inaccessible due to being 'resorts', we had so many to choose from (having circum-navigated the island on our second day), the furthest being hardly half an hour from Paige Pond.

In summary, a great base, courteous and helpful staff, regular linen/towel changes/trash removal, excellent wi-fi, no power-outages...What more could a 'proper' traveller ask from this excellent value accommodation on such a delightful paradise island, populated by the most warm and friendly of people?...When to return, is my answer!

Paige Pond Inn is an excellent choice for those who are on a budget but are also looking for a decent level of comfort.

I've seen a lot of budget accommodation in Antigua but this one is at the top in terms of quality of accommodation.

The room I stayed in had good air conditioning (not too cold or hot), cable television, en suite bathroom, and kitchenette with stove top, microwave and mini fridge. Wifi was also provided free of cost. The service was decent, and had no issues checking in and out.

The accommodation was IMMACULATELY CLEAN, something you don't find with many budget hotel properties.

I booked directly with the hotel, the price was something like $55 US per night.

Only minor drawback is the location - located at the centre of the island, in the sleepy village of Buckleys. This means its far away from any beaches, and there's no decent shopping or food in the area, although Paige Pond does have a few snacks for sale and there are one or two small groceries/shops/vendors in the area. Also, it isn't the best spot if you're looking for an "active" weekend as there isn't any nightlife in the area, closest you will get is English Harbour which is about a 10 minute drive away.

However, for $55 US, there's really no excuse to not be able to afford a rental car from the money you've saved, and still be spending less than other "budget" properties on the island. If you're looking for a great budget without sacrificing comfort, then Paige Pond is your best bet.

We stayed there overnight when we needed a cheap stopover hotel when our flight plan got changed up. I was skeptical at first because low price usually means low quality but since it was for one night I decided to not even Google it just deal with whatever met me.

The taxi was about $30US because he drove us through KFC to pick up something to eat. It was probably more like $21 as the 4am return was $25. It was about 20 mins from the airport.

We got there late at night and they didn't have our reservation, which we made online earlier in the afternoon. However a quick call by the desk agent to 'someone' sorted it all out. I noticed as I drove in that it was quite new looking and pleasantly laid out with good parking. Rooms were on two levels. A few snacks sold in the office. Quick check-in process.

They took us to a building with a main door and then individual apartments to both of which we had keys - the main and our apt, so we felt quite secure. We could smell food and hear voices when we came in. Note to self - the walls are a little thin, but not overbearingly so.

The studio room (US$60 on booking.com) was quite pleasant and roomy with a little kitchenette and I have to say it was extremely clean. I've worked in the hotel industry so I know to check up top mirrors for dust and stuff. No dust, white sheets, very simply furnished, communal iron and board in the hallway. A few basic amenities, a/c and powerful free WiFi which we were THRILLED about. Cable and radio alarm clock which we never got to use. And most importantly squeaky clean bathrooms.

On checkout if the office is closed as it was because we left at 4 we are to leave keys and remotes in the room. The desk agent was to book us a taxi but we never saw it. However because the room guide had emergency after hours nos we were able to call Julie I think her name was and she came promptly (at 3:45am) to rush us to the airport. When we tried to pay her she said 'That's for putting the minutes back on your phone' :).

Overall we had a comfortable pleasant stay, though it was only overnight. I would recommend it and go again. Since I can't speak to a longer experience, if I do go again for a longer time I will post again. Thanks for everything.
