Ballyfin is an experience which is certainly unmatched anywhere in Ireland. Once you arrive at the gates, the sweeping avenue brings you through wooded areas and then meanders like a great flowing river left and right before the large house comes into view. Once you arrive at the front door, the Ballyfin team welcome you and take your car and... More

We just returned from our second trip to Ballyfin. We've traveled to 30 countries outside the US, and Ballyfin is one of the finest, if not the very best, property we've ever visited. I want to particularly recommend two activities: carriage driving with Lionel, who is an avid horseman and expert on the history of the estate, and the falconry... More

Ballyfin is stunning. Literally. I haven't bothered reviewing anywhere in quite some time due to the mundane nature even the so called top end resorts. Greeted by no less then four butlers my wife and I were instantly at ease. This set the tone for the weekend. The Mansion is exquisite. It demonstrates attention to detail at it's very finest... There are no words to adequately describe the perfection that is Ballyfin! My wife and I were in Ireland last week for an event in Dublin...we decided to extend our trip for a few days and visit the Irish countryside. Having booked our stay at Ballyfin based upon our travel agent's recommendation and without any research on my part, I... More

About 90 minutes from Dublin is one of the most wonderful and special hotels we have ever visited. Used as a school until 7 years ago, the buildings were completely restored to a simply marvelous Downton Abbey type home. What a extraordinary experience at simply spectacular small hotel. With only 12 occupied rooms (of 24) and massive grounds, most of... More

This resort has only 20 rooms so one feels like you personally own a fabulous country estate in Ireland. To begin, the property is amazing: pull up to the main entrance and you are greeted by the amazing G.M. Damien Bastiat and staff who wisk your luggage to a beautiful room (all with different names tied to the history of... More

There are simply not enough superlatives to describe Ballyfin and the staff. Although my husband and I only had one night there it was so unforgettable that we will most definitely return for a longer visit. I cannot wait.

This hotel and the estate it stands within really is a little piece of heaven and oh so well worth a visit. It is impossible to have any negative feelings or opinions about this hotel. It was our first visit - and hopefully we will be returning - as soon as possible. The staff clearly love this hotel and it... More

This is our 2nd stay. We first stayed in June 2013. Loved everything about it then & love it even more now! The rooms are an experience back in time, the elegance and beauty of another time. Very comfortable & quiet! We spent 2 hours riding the bikes around the estate after breakfast. Returned in time for lunch, an hour... More

Spent an idyllic mid Summer's evening in Ballyfin and, whilst our visit was only for dinner, we were treated royally from start to finish. Commencing with a tour of the main receptions rooms, coffee in the library and then a complimentary buggy to take a wider tour of the estate. Dinner was top class finished off by coffee in the... At Ballyfin formality is blended with ease and enjoyment.
