An Garrai Mor is a modern two story house situated a few hundred yards down a side road off the main R336 road going West from Galway, just beyond Inverin, so that it offers convenient access to the wider Connemara. The little side-road continues on down to the sea shore, and makes a very nice ten-minute walk. Our double room was spacious, much more so than many of the B&Bs that we have been in, with a very cosy bed and a comfortable couch underneath the large window. The price of €65 did not include breakfast, but a pleasant dining room had available in it an excellent selection of juice, cereals, breads, biscuits, fruit, with coffee, teas and milk, and with a kettle and microwave, all self-service and free with the compliments of the hostess. This we found a pleasant relief from the usual 'full Irish' and made the €65 charge extremely good value for the night. The hostess was very pleasant and was anxious to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. Guests should be aware that the mobile phone signal in this area can be extremely weak and temperamental (although the house does offer free Wifi) so that any research relying on Google maps etc. should be done beforehand. And because of the uncertainty of the internet, credit cards are not accepted and payment is only by cash. We had a good night here and can recommend this establishment.

Although there were a number of disappointing things about this B&B the worst thing was the dirty bathroom. There was a lot of black mold in the shower and on the wall around the shower and on the bottom of the shower curtain. If the bathroom hadn't been so bad we would have overlooked the other complaints but they all added up to a very unsatisfactory stay. The breakfast was not as advertised (cooked breakfast) . There was bread, cereal, fruit , yogurt and instant coffee all to be prepared by the guests. The bed sheets were dark grey and the duvet covers looked very old so that we didn't feel we were in a very fresh bed. The hostess was very friendly on arrival but repeated attempts to contact her did not succeed nor did she appear at breakfast.

One word about this accommodation – Fantastic.   Fantastic location – right on the coast within easy reach (20 minute drive) of Galway City and excellent local (5 minute drive) facilities including a lovely restaurant.   Fantastic accommodation – the B&B was like home from home with all the amenities required including fresh clean towels. It's bright, clean and lovely decorated accommodation with fresh cooked breakfast every morning to your liking. The only thing I would kindly ask if the curtains could have some blackout lining added or add a blind behind the existing curtains, as the sun pours through the large window early in the morning making the room too bright to sleep in.   Fantastic hosts – Jacqui was an amazing host where nothing was too much trouble. we spent time talking to her and husband, they were very friendly and helpful. Our little one didn’t want to leave. Overall a great place to stay and I would definably stay here again if I was in the area.

We stayed for a night whilst on our Wild Atlantic Way roadtrip. Friendly welcome, nice room with everything you needed. Great bathroom The most powerful shower I have experienced in years! A nice touch was having a little basket of toiletries which you can help yourself from. Breakfast was great. You order on a previous printed form which you place in a pocket on your bedroom door. Overall a nice place to stay although be aware they only take cash.
