We stayed in the barn this time (in the main house in 2002) and the room was comfortable with a nice view across fields. The hostel is pleasantly situated 200 yards up a steep road from the village. Staff were helpful, there are football, swingball and outdoor chess to divert the kids, but running around, making friends and exploring is...

Hi, Thanks very much for your lovely review. I am glad you had a good time. Dogs are now accepted in YHA alternative accommodation, so camping pods, tipis, etc... and we are hoping for a couple of pods ourselves in the near future, however you can look at where your furry friend can stay on the YHA website. Glad he...

This is an amazing place to stay. It has a cosy lounge with a very reasonably priced bar. The kitchen facilities are very comprehensive and a good place to chat with other guests. It has a perfect location with many walks out from the hall and Dovedale nearby. The staff are really friendly and helpful. Comfortable beds, free wifi in...

My boyfriend and I went and stayed at the YHA Hartingdon Hall last weekend and it was great. Helpful lady on the desk even called down to the pub and reserved us a table for dinner. Lovely building, well equipped and really pleasant!

YHA Hartington Hall hotel offers simple accommodation in a lovely historic building with lots of character (see photos). We had a family room with 7 beds and a sink. Showers and toilets were in the communal area. The beds were clean & very comfortable. Staff were helpful too. The kitchen offers simple food at reasonable prices. The breakfast is the...

My sister and I visited for a couple of days walking from Hartington. Great base with a lovely library for relaxing. Breakfasts superb - well worth the £5.25 and dinner a good deal too. Bedrooms clean and functional. Only downsides were the short beds, (I'm only just over 6 feet and found it uncomfortably short) and the poo in both...

Hi Sam, Thanks very much for taking the time out to leave us a review. I am glad you enjoyed your stay and the food. I am sorry that you found your bathroom dirty, I think I read some feedback from you (or your sister) on the YHA feedback, so I have looked into who was housekeeping at that time....

Personally I am more into city breaks such as New York City and Dubai, therefore, I do not normally visit places of pure nature. This is the first time I have ever visited a national park and the views were spectacular! I highly recommend not only going to the Peak District National Park but YHA Hartington Hall, the staff were...

I stayed recently on a walking weekend. Good accommodation including some private rooms. The beds are ready made up and are comfortable. Great value for money on the pre-booked breakfast and evening meal. The Hall itself is fantastic with plenty of outdoor space including picnic tables and giant chess. There are numerous walking and cycle routes nearby which make for...

Great place to stay with a school trip. Really friendly staff and grounds enabled students to go around in groups and enjoy themselves. Lovely building and rooms are as normal with yha so basic it functional. Meals on time and we were late due to traffic and they were super chilled about it and supportive.

For most of us it is not every day we get the chance to experience life in a real 17th century manor house. Thankfully the YHA has again made it possible, bringing the opportunity within our reach. Set in the heart of England's stunning countryside this is an extremely popular venue that we only managed to secure one night here...

We have just spent the most amazing weekend getting married at Hartington Hall, it was everything we expected and more.
