Very sadly, this hotel does not honour its promises to its customers. I booked to stay in this hotel, and paid a 453 euro refundable deposit. At the time of making the booking, it was a term of the booking that I would be refunded my money upon cancellation, provided it was not within 7 days of the arrival date. Otherwise I would not have made the booking. I cancelled the booking shortly after making the booking. Despite many emails and calls, this hotel failed to refund me. It repeatedly told me that it had made the payment, or was going to make the payment. To give just one example, the Reservation Manager told me an email, "We have informed the bank to return the deposit as soon as we received cancellation of the reservation. As it is a procedure that might be not shown soon and as the following days are Saturday & Sunday, please wait the latest until the end of next week and if you will not see any refund until then, please come in contact with us once again and we will be happy to assist you any possible way." This statement was false. No refund had been made. Eventually, after many weeks, the hotel replied stating that it would not refund me, and offering me a voucher instead. It has not responded to any subsequent emails or calls. In many years of travelling and staying in hotels, I have never had this experience.

Wonderful hotel in beautiful surroundings. Lovely swimming pools and very well maintained. The Restaurant is exceptionally well run with friendly efficient staff and varied menus. We stayed in the main hotel as there are bungalows in the grounds. Quite a few steps as the hotel is built on a hillside. Will certainly return.

Dear Guests, Thank you so much for taking the time to share this wonderful review further to your recent stay at Grecotel Corfu Imperial. We are so happy to hear that you were satisfied by the hotel itself and the services offered. Admittedly, as the hotel is located at the end of the Kommeno peninsula, surrounded by trees and the endless blue, there are a few steps, most of them supported by ramps. We always aim to make all the hotel surroundings as guest friendly as possible, never destroying their natural form. It will be a great honour for all of us to welcome you again in our hotel; till then, we wish you all the best! Kind Regards, Efstathios Savvidis The Hotel Manager Grecotel Corfu Imperial

We visited in October of last year. We were delighted with the hotel from the minute we arrived. We were met by a member of staff who took us to a seated area in the lounge and talked us through everything to do with the hotel. She then took us to our room, the cases had already been delivered and we were left to settle in. Like others who have mentioned the view being blocked by the trees, we were in one of these rooms but as the weather was so hot, we turned this into a positive and we decided we were grateful for the shade. The birds, although very noisy, were also entertaining and its not every day we see a site like that. Venturing down to wander and explore we thought we were in heaven. The gardens, walkways, sitting areas and beaches were immaculate. There was more than enough seating even though we were told that the hotel was full. I agree that the food could have been a touch warmer but there was so much choice there was always something different to try every time we ate there. The staff were brilliant without being overbearing and the dining room was beautiful. As for the wasps, do some of the guests expect staff to stand around them with a can wasp killer? At that time of year there is nothing anyone can do about the wasps and people should not criticise the hotel for something that is out of their hands. The other restaurants on the site were fantastic and we were fully aware, before we went, that some of the restaurants were sited at the other two hotels. This is because we do our homework BEFORE booking so we know what to expect. I should also mention the reception staff for their patience and humour. The other person that deserves a mention is the shuttle bus driver who was always friendly and professional. To sum up, I really don’t know how this place could be improved and we will definitely go back - something we have never done before and we travel a lot. Thank you to everyone at the hotel.

We've stayed at a number of 5 star hotels and we agreed that this is probably the best one we have been to. Staff were so happy to help. We did go at a time of year where it was not the school holidays, so it was not overcrowded or busy, and we got very lucky with the weather. We were half board, and it was possible to switch dinner for lunch as we had booked several dinners out. The quality of food at the lunches was superb - three courses are included for the lunch from a set menu. We actually only had the buffet dinner once, and think it was not as good quality as the lunch food. The beaches were lovely - could be quite busy but there were always staff on hand to help find a lounger -- and then get you a drink! Swimming out to sea with the clear blue waters was idyllic. The free shuttle bus into town was great - and ideal for some of our dinner reservations. This hotel is ideal if you want a week of rest and relaxation in a luxury environment. We did get a deal online, and it was remarkable value. We are looking to return next year - and we have never been to the same hotel twice before!
