What a year it’s been but in that short and welcome window in the middle, when it was safe to travel, I am so pleased that we chose Corfu and the San Antonio. Super friendly help from the front of house before arrival and wow when we walked into our De Luxe to the space, design, comfort and magnificent view ... yes with Covid and a couple of rainy mornings the breakfast fell over a bit but in all other regards loved it and will return.
Lovely hotel in an amazing location. We know Kalami Bay already and always visit when in Corfu so to stay here was fabulous. The rooms are spotless and spacious and all have a wonderful view over the bay. The breakfast was ok not a great choice but given the current situation (Covid) was fine. We booked bed and breakfast as wanted to eat out in the area. Thomas’ was our favourite. The hotel reception staff are incredibly helpful we booked taxi’s, rental cars and quads through them nothing was too much trouble. We rented a boat from Blue bay boats on the beach and toured around the different coves stopping for lunch and snorkelling.
A last minute getaway from the dreary covid ridden UK, never visited Corfu before. We couldn't have been happier after we switched from the royal grand. This was a modern, beautifully furnished, clean hotel, just breathtaking views, a fabulous roof top pool and bar with the best barman Themis . He was friendly engaging and looked after us all week. Immaculate grounds very well kept, although somewhat steep, could do with a hand rail on stairs from road. Glad there was a lift. Daily plentiful breakfast fruits, greek yogurt, walnuts, croissants, eggs, bacon cereal the list goes on!served by Marietta, excellent friendly staff tending to your every need. Made us feel very special. Lots of storage in room, not many english channels though. We feel recharged and ready to return to reality. Definitely recommend Thomas Place restaurant nearby too. We can't wait to return at a warmer time of year. San Antonio this is just au revoir x…
We needed a quick break away during what I am sure everyone will agree has been a horrid year. We chose Kalami because we knew it would be quieter and wanted a hotel that was relaxed and had great views. Wow...we couldn't have chosen anything better. This hotel met everything we needed for the 3 days we were there. We booked the maisonette and words cannot describe that view when you first open the door and look through the french doors onto the balcony and beyond to Kalami bay. The room was on two levels and every part of it was clean, beautifully decorated and had that Greek warmth to it. Despite Covid, we were able to get the room cleaned every day, had everything topped up and fresh towels available. The bed was so comfortable and was nice to have USB charging points by the bed. We only had breakfast at the hotel but it was so well done. The basket of breads was ideal for having with the meat and cheese plates--just enough to start our day off. The upper pool area was gorgeous. Pool isn't heated so it was crazy cold (I couldn't face it but my partner did!) but it is the end of the season so to be expected. Cannot thank the team enough for making our 3 day break so amazing.…
booked a late holiday to the resort via TUI having read the reviews and looking for somewhere quiet and less busy to unwind. Transfers to and from the resort were well organized and covid compliant....only real issue was long wait at immigration on arrival but will accept huge numbers due to lack of alternative countries to visit. The resort is approx 50 minutes from the airport. You are dropped at the top of the resort and reception is at the very bottom. We simply walked down to the lift which takes you to the ground level. My partner has some walking issues but was able to manage getting about quite easily so do not be put off by some comments in reviews. We were given room 504 which was a nice room with a balcony affording lovely views over the bay. Room had tea and coffee facilities (replenished daily) and a free safe. Staff throughout the resort were lovely, friendly and attentive. Pool towels provided on a 10 Euro deposit for the week. Breakfast are plentiful and during Covid, you simply request what you need from a lengthy list of options. Was of a good standard. Only had an evening meal twice...they were ok but the options listed daily never real caught our eye for the price...E18 for four courses....house wine was reasonable for E7 half litre. Several good restaurants in the village all providing good food in nice settings on the waters edge and would recommend all of them. Pool was very cold but we discovered a lovely cove beyond the bay which was idyllic and had good access to the water...a shingle beach. Went every afternoon after a morning chilling by the pool. It is a ten minute walk beyong the white house restaurant. Up the hill and turn down towards the Beach House A path at the side leads to the beach. No facilities but lovely place to see. We took the public bus to Corfu Town from the bus stop above the hotel....stop is opposite the road to the village. It was only E2.9 each and took about an hour. TIP...you are dropped off in the centre but to catch the bus back, you need to walk to the central bus station. Signage says a ten minute walk....if you are Usain Bolt, then maybe....but for mortals allow at least twenty minutes to get there. Timetable for bus is in reception area. Lovely town and worth visiting. Only other tip is about the mosquitos. Small cunning blighters, SAS trained and will find you no matter what time of the day!!!! So take that spray with you and lots of it.... Otherwise a lovely break spent in a perfect location amongst lovely local people and would happily recommend.....unless you are requiring a lively holiday in which case go elsewhere..…
