We went as a couple vacation to spend only one night. We regretted our decision since there are many tours and attractions you can take. We took a boat out for around three hours with a great tour guide his name was Oscar. He took us to several areas were you can swinm. You cannot swimm out by the bay...

This place is really off the beaten track on Jiquilisco Bay with its mangroves and crocodiles.A great place for birding too. The visit to the spider monkeys in the forest was really interesting. We thought the beaches would be closer ,they were quite a long boat ride away and we were told they were not too safe because there had been...

The hotel is located in Usulutan ,where the surroundings are well managed. The lodge itself is big enough for a family of 4-6 people, complete with kitchen facilities. I felt like I was at home in a paradise like setting. There were many activities to do so plan to stay at least 2 or more nights. You can feel that...

We were only here for one night but we had a delightful river trip and enjoyed a walk in the forest where we saw some of the very few remaining spider monkeys. The birds, nightjars especially, really pleased us. We were warned that we would be overrun by mosquitos at the outside restaurant by the river in the evening but...

It was a nice place to stay but I was forced to upgrade once I got there. It is a pretty place off the beaten path, about 30 minutes off the main road. Once you are there you only have their restaurant and store to use. If you go pack your own food and call to confirm before the drive.

In short this is one of the best marinas in terms of amenities, ambience and price that we've seen in all of Central America! Nestled deep in the tropical estuary, Marina Barillas provided a sanctuary for our sailboat of weary cruisers. The amenities from the boat side panga taxi to shore to the sparkling azure pools (of which there were...

Our attractions include: boat tours through the bay, or visiting a pristine island, visit our monkey sanctuary (spider monkeys- a very entertaining experience- monkeys are in their natural habitat and are very playful as visitors bring them bananas) and cocoa tours, Kayak rentals or if you decide just to relax this is the perfect place. “I believe there were three large villas and they were building more - there was a smaller one which one of our party had just one bedroom - i only did not like that the shower was downstairs so you had to do a walk of shame to use the shower in the morning but you are in a beautiful private rainforest - it did not bother him and it would not bother any one else - perhaps shy girls may want to ask for the bigger villas with the privacy on the shower stalls instead of this one. It in no way detracted from this amazing hotel in a stunning location.”
