I was been there with friends and we had there an amazing time. I wish to come back to this wonderful private island in some day..!! The hostel is with an amazing view, the place is very clean and comfortable and most important is that Diego, the owner is a nice and a kind guy.

We were dubious about the island. It sounded too good to be true. We were bragging to our friends that we were going to stay on our own island, and all the while wondering if it would be a disaster. Our nerves were only calmed by the lovely owner, Diego, who answered our litany of questions, chatted on the phone...

Thanks Diego, had a great stay and if we'd had more time we'd have stayed another night for sure. I agree with most of the positive reviews for this from others and have nothing negative to say. There's a lot of potential to do other activities should they become available like paddle boarding or kayaks to go exploring on. This...

I spent two separate weekends here. It was wonderful. Lots of areas to relax, a constant refreshing breeze and magnificant 360 degree views. All the staff were incredibly helpful and kind. The food was basic but fresh and tasty. The large pool was extremely clean. I would recommend this place over many others I stayed at in Nicaragua and on...

I didn't imagine that I could spent a night in my private island in the middle of Nicaragua's Lake. The island has a awesome view ( volcano mombacho and other islands) and you can listen the sound of jungle. The place has swimming pool, and relaxing hammocks. The Ecohostal is nice, clean and it offers a traditional Nicaraguan breakfast. Try...

I was supposed to stay at the Ikaria Eco Hostel for one night with my mates as a stop over and ended up staying for 5 great days and nights. We met some great people and shared our experiences over plenty of cold beers. The nature around is beautiful and the location is perfect. The hostel (and island) is very...

Ikaria Eco Hostel is one of the most charming place I've ever seen! The hostel is on a private island but very close to the city too. It's really cute, clean and comfortable. One of the most attractive thing? Plenty of hammocks where enjoy amazing views! The atmosphere and the people working there are very nice, especially Diego, the owner...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Ikaria is a private island on Lake Nicaragua, only 15 minutes away from the colonial city of Granada. Ikaria island is absolutely beautiful, surrounded by nothing but water and facing the Mombacho Volcano, Ikaria is one of the 365 islands scattered around the Asese Peninsula. Come and enjoy the biggest pool of the isletas, use the kayaks and rowing boats, have a cold beer in a hammock and just chill with the sound of the water hitting the island. It does not get more Nica and exotic than this. ... more   less
