Not a single flaw in this spectacular resort. The Island is gorgeous, the rooms are impeccable, spacious and everything you would expect in a 5 Star hotel. The food was wonderful with everything locally sourced. Everyone knows your name and they are always waiting at the dock when you return with a tropical surprise. The only complaint i had was...

Jicaro has nine luxury casitas (cabins) together with public and service areas all on a tiny island. The casitas are very well appointed. There are two floors, with a spacious bedroom upstairs. The main floor includes a sitting area and an unnecessarily large shower/bathroom. Although there is plenty of floor area, the downstairs felt congested because of the way it...

My wife and I recently spent a night at this unique Ecolodge located in the Isletas de Granada in the Middle of Lake Nicaragua. The staff was absolutely delightful and willing to please. They set up a wonderful, private birthday dinner for the two of us at the edge of the water. The food was terrific and they really knocked...

The friendly staff make all the difference here. It made our few days even more relaxing. The rooms all come with mosquito nets which they put up and down for you, although it didn't even seem like we needed them (in February) since the entire Casita is screened in. The food was outstanding - the best Ceviche I've ever had....

From the moment you step on the island until the sad moment you leave, you are treated like a star in your own self-styled movie. Whether you choose to be active, semi-active or simply a lounge lizard, the staff makes sure that you are always satisfied. The menus are inventive and offer vegan options for all tastes and you can...

Booking process was challenging. I reserved a room from Mr and Mrs Smith. They charged they commission and told hotel will charge the rest. Quite normal procedure. Next day I got an email from the hotel urging me to pay the room during the same day. It was on Saturday. I hesitate to pay by any link sent by email....

We loved the other hotels in the Cayuga lodge we stayed in but Jicaro is a case above - the little touches make everything perfect. Ask for anything you need and they will happily bring it. Rooms are 2 floored with quite steep steps so do bear that in mind and a wonderful veranda to drink coffee on in the...

Traveling to new countries is my passion. The incredibly kind and loving staff at Jicaro captured my heart. They corrected my poor spanish gently and with humor. As much as I want to see other parts of the world I know that I will be drawn back to this beautiful island over and over. The Food: Inspiring, exceptional and don't...

We only got to stay one night, but it was the best place in Nicaragua! Next time, and we will be back for sure, we will stay much longer. The three included meals a day were amazing and there were plenty of activities during the day.
