So disappointing! This was our 7th visit to the Regnum for a long awaited golf holiday following 2 years absence due to COVID - unfortunately, it will probably be our last! The service has gone downhill - no welcome drinks table - this now has to come from the bar due to COVID (not sure what difference it makes to be handed one from the table or the bar, but alas..) - the staff that used to greet you with a smile, now just stand there and ignore you! Our room was so noisy from above that we had to move after 2 days. A La carte restaurants impossible to book - we managed to book one for our last night through the new WhatsApp service, which although confirmed on the app wasn’t booked with the restaurant, so we were told we couldn’t eat in there and customer service lied by telling us there had been a big technical issue (the manager confirmed this wasn’t true the next day). Customer Service should be renamed No Customer Service! Only the main bar open in the evenings (19th hole and Irish bar closed) and there were a lot of families there with children watching programmes very loudly on phones / iPads and no option to go to a quieter bar. No mugs for hot drinks in our room, we eventually managed to get a cup brought up, but they weren’t replaced the next day, so we had to go through the whole thing again. Evening turn down service was random. Time for a change I think! The beach is now split in two with one half being an extra charge €100 I believe, so now very cramped. This is no longer 5 star - I would say it would struggle to be 4 star now! On the plus side - the transport to the golf club was excellent and the staff at Carya and National were superb, as always (apart from the lady who works in the half way hut at the Carya, who was on a video call with children every time we went in and didn’t feel it necessary to stop this to serve us - we were clearly interrupting her!!).

Hotel's Favorite
We have much enjoyed our stay at the Carya during 18 - 25 July 2021. We travelled as a family, with one young child (5 years old). In all, the hotel sucessfully created a relaxing and pampering experience for us, leaving nothing to be desired in terms of the perfect holiday we were after. We very much appreciated the warm and gratious welcome provided by reception team member, Onur Cantoin. Being here for the first time we did feel a bit overwhelmed by the hotel and Onur did the finest of jobs in helping us feel welcome, and find our way through the hotel and multitude of services available. We noticed his knowledge of the hotel and its sevices, open and warm attitude, excellent English command, and continous care shown to us during our stay in the hotel. The hotel does provide a general Regnum number to which you can write any request or needs you may have, but seeing Onur enquire with us from time to time about our stay, how we feel, how we are, added a great human touch to our interaction with the hotel and was certainly an element of Carya pedigree we heard so much of in time. Servicewise, the room was cleaned in the morning and re-arranged in the afternoon. Minibar was replenished daily and very well stocked. Refreshing cold towels by the pool, glasses cleaning service (somebody comes and wipes your glasses) :)) were some of the perks of spending time at one of the hotel’s pools. Food was abundand, sophisticated and tasty, with a lot of variety. We were impressed by the Sea Food Night which we think is unmissable. The hotel also provides fast track at the airport which is also another service making a valuable difference to other hotels and worth making use of especially if you travel with kids. In terms of facilities, we found Carya to be impressive and opulent. The hotel has generous outside pools, a wave pool - first time our family got to enjoy one - , fantastic outdoor green areas which envelope the hotel from all sides and allows for long walks in nature, a waterfall to write home about, and a fine white sand beach. Kids Aqua Park was also very nice and allowed us to let our daughter enjoy a lot of water activities (slides, water guns :)) in a safe and child friendly manner. We also spent a lot of quality time with the Kids Club team. They were caring and attentive, and time spent in their company was rich in activities adequate for our daughter’s age (both outdoors - train rides, pool play, and indoor - drawing, paper cutting and interaction games with other kids of her age) always making her wanting to come back. A big thank you goes to Maxim, the rezident swimming instructor. He had four days to get our daughter to swim and fully delivered. Nice guy, calm and focused, fully recommended if you have your kid with you and want him/her to do well when in water. In all, everyone tried to make us fell well and enjoy ourselves especially during this hard times of pandemic where a real break to recharge your batteries is so important.

First of all I would advise all guest to book their stay only through agencies because communication with the hotel is too complicated. We booked a Sapphire villa and our stay was ruined by the management. On our arrival we were greeted and still with the smile on the face they urgently explained how the swimming pool is heated outside and if we want to keep it warm we have to pay 700 EUR extra. I asked is it possible to confirm later? No! So they pushed their “tefter” into our face and so fast we agreed. Later we saw on their web-site the description of the room amenities which included “ heated swimming pool” . Not described as an option. We asked a few times and they said they will discuss it with the management. No response. On the departure day they sent M.Bulychova to push us on the last minute, 1,5 hours before the flight. She even said “ you are right but you already signed”. So disgusted we left the hotel and we regretted not to go in Max Royal Kemer. Even if we do not signed they could not turn off the heating because the guest after us couldn’t use it. It would take 5 days to heat again. I cannot believe that the hotel is disturbing the villa guests with their electricity bills. Imagine going on a ski resort and they charge you with the heating because in the summer other people don’t use it. What is interesting is that after they changed the description in the web-site. It only means that they were not right. I’ll put a picture so everyone can decide was it fair.

Beautiful hotel, very clean, various facilities. I liked the SPA, Golf, the various restaurants and bars. Staff is very polite and helpful, customer service is excellent. Very reactive to my requests, and very accommodating. Food is tasty and very diverse. Evening entertainment was great too. Definitely one of my best trips ever.

We recently got back from a 10 day stay at Regnum. This is our fifth visit and one of the reasons we return is the quality of service, standard of hotel and the numerous activities for children. Anyone going in the next few weeks with children should take note of the follow; The wave pool is currently empty of water as there is an issue that doesn’t look like it is getting fixed any time soon. There are 2 slides in the aqua park that are broken. The water in the aqua park, wave pool (before it broke)and activity pool is freezing. The high ropes are out of action, as is the zip wire and climbing wall. No 5pm football despite it being advertised on the activity planner. Our 10 year old was very disappointed at not being able to do the usual activities. We did express our concerns with the hotel whilst we were there and they did give our son a small gift as an apology for his disappointment. This was a nice gesture however I do feel that people should be made aware that these services for children are out of action. The reason given for the high ropes/zip wire/climbing wall being out of action was covid!! I find this hard to believe as it is an outdoor activity done individually. Plus points The goats are a nice new addition to the hotel. The new bakery was nice. The new green bar is nice. The buffet is much better now that everything is served by staff, much more hygienic. The food in the Turkish, Italian & Chinese was outstanding. The Turkish restaurant is our favourite and we would like to thank Kenan, who always looks after us. Everywhere is lovely and clean as usual and we did not feel worried about covid during our visit. Downsides It’s a shame the beach bar is now chargeable. Also the steak house has become more expensive, instead of a €20 charge, you now pay for what you eat, which works out way more than €20. It would be great if the activity pool remained heated at this time of year as the only pool that was warm was the main pool and at 8am all the sunbeds were full. I would have loved to do the aqua bike and aqua Zumba but the water was way too cold. We will return as despite a disappointing visit this year, Regnum remains our favourite hotel. However, we will be checking before booking that all usual activities will be back up and running.
