With a privileged beachfront location and a spectacular view of La Ventana, Casa Tara rises from the depths of Baja California Mexico, as a secluded paradise of pleasure and wellbeing. The whole project is inspired by the mediterranean-style architecture, Asian furnishings and careful interior design added the finishing touches to create a vibrant, strongly energetic mood behind closed doors.

Casa Tara is a magical place. Marcela is such a lovely, kind, person and her energy and attention to detail is everywhere. The vegan food was delicious. The spa treatments were so good. The staff was incredible. I am going back in May and bringing my girlfriends and sisters. Can’t recommend this place enough!!

A week there was not long enough! The staff were so friendly and welcoming! Beautiful rooms, spectacular sunrises, spectacular view.. the spa should not be missed. The food was great. But my favourite was just sitting by the infinity pool watching the kite surfers, margarita in hand. I left fully restored and replenished.

My group and I spent a week at Casa Tara last week for a yoga and kiteboarding retreat and we all loved our stay. As the retreat planner, the whole experience from beginning to end was fantastic. Pamela did an amazing job in coordinating everything before we even got there, and I was appreciative of the flexibility for our group since our schedule was kind of wind-dependent.
The staff were all so nice and accommodating and the food was incredible. David was incredibly entertaining, and we really liked how the chef changed up the menu and created some very special dishes toward the end of our stay.
The 2 yoga shalas were perfect for morning and evening yoga. They even have plenty of props and mats so you don't have to bring anything.
Rooms were beautiful, all with a view of the sea. Loved our stay 100%

If you look at the website for this place the motto is: "RETREAT. RELAX. RESTORE." My wife and were looking for a smaller place where we could kick back and relax and were looking forward to reading our books by the pool sipping on a few drinks with a great view. This place has 12 rooms I believe and a great little pool area with a fantastic view. Believing the marketing that this is a great place to rest and relax we decided to make a reservation.
For the Pros: This place is beautiful, with fantastic landscaping and excellent rooms/bathrooms. The staff are very friendly and helpful(as are most folks in this area generally). There is a fantastic pool area with a fab view.
Cons: Upon checking in and heading down to the pool, there were six children in the very small pool/hot tub and running around the pool, yelling and screaming and splashing around. This was a daily occurrence from about 9-5 every day with the amount of children ranging from 4-10 kids at any time and they totally dominated the area around the pool basically making it impossible for any kind of relaxation. I get that is what kids do and should do. However at a wellness retreat for guests seeking rest and relaxation, it totally killed the experience for my wife and I. We later discovered that we were one of the few guests at this place without children. And in general this seemed like a very poor place for a child to be as there is little to do outside of the pool/hot tub area and there are a lot of hazards and dangers with the landscaping and pool. We had to go offsite for our R and R instead of being able to enjoy this place.
Another con would how noises and sounds from the road and neighboring properties reverberated in these rooms. I don't know the science as to why this happened as the place is far off the road and far from the neighboring properties, but cars with loud bass would be heard in our room with sound and vibrations. The same for dogs barking from nearby places. You could hear the kids screaming in the pool which was at least 100-200 feet or more away. Further, you can really hear what is going on in other rooms. I obviously don't expect any place to be totally soundproof, but this place seemed to really be on the poor side of things.
Conclusion: If you are looking for a family resort where your children can basically own the pool area, then this is your 5 star paradise. If you are actually looking for a wellness retreat involving rest and relaxation, then definitely look elsewhere.

Casa Tara is located in an isolated area, there is nothing around the hotel. So you're stuck there unless you arrange car service through the hotel to visit La Paz (40mins away).
The pool is very small, and if you're ok with kids and dogs running around, then you're fine. Not peaceful at all, which is what I thought their message is? 🤔 We wanted to visit the pool, but the dogs were at the pool, so we just stayed in our room. The dogs were also hanging inside the restaurant. I'm a dog person myself, but in a restaurant is so overdoing it!
The restaurant is flooded with flies, alive and dead on the floor. I did notice for three days in a row, the same pieces of food were on the floor, so obviously they don't clean their floors daily.
The food is a solid 3 out of 5. The chef is very nice, and tried to accommodate as much as possible (we didn't know it was a vegan restaurant).
The spa is cute, and the messages and facials we received were great! That honestly was the best part about staying there.
The office staff is not organized one bit. When we checked out, they basically wrote our total due on the back of a piece of paper, no itemized receipt. Soooo I just paid not knowing exactly what I'm paying for! Lol!!!
Bottom line - Casa Tara has a long way to go on the details, and needs LOTS of polishing up. Hopefully they'll get there, it has potential. If you're into classy, boujee, cute boutique hotels, this is NOT the place to go.

We stumbled upon this retreat when looking for a place to have lunch in La Ventana on a day trip from La Paz. What an absolute pleasant surprise! We ended staying the entire afternoon and truly enjoyed the grounds, pool and staff attentiveness. We had a delicious lunch (ceviche and catch of the day Tacos). If you can stay overnight or simply want a place to relax and enjoy, consider Casa Tara Retreat.

+1
The casa tara offers the most amazing experience. The location is remote and right on the ocean with a beautiful view of the sunrise.
The service was literally the best i have ever experienced. The staff were the nicest and most helpful serving staff iv ever had the pleasure of being served by.
The rooms were something out of a movie so bright, clean, and uplifting.
I could not recommend this place enough in terms of a place to go get away and release.

My family (myself, wife and 3 kids) stayed at Casa Tara for a few days last week (our 2nd hotel to stay in that week). Lovely hotel! Very elegant and extremely attentive to every detail. Here is what we loved about this place:
1. Beautiful Rooms! The design, the thought behind details, and the cleanliness of the rooms was amazing!
2. Pool was incredible! Overlooking the ocean, clean, and just all around classy!
3. Marcela (the owner) set us up with a boat trip, where the fisherman took us to go see the giant manta rays, and to an amazing snorkeling spot. They packed us lunch and took care of all the details so we can just enjoy the experience.
4. The property is very serene and well designed.
5. There were standup paddleboards, kayaks and other water activities that you can freely use
All in all, we had a great time there! Thanks again Marcela and the entire Casa Tara staff!

We spent a few days in La Paz and stumbled onto Casa Tara while exploring the area, the simple and elegant design of the constructions caught our attention and we stopped to check it out. We ended up spending the whole day at the hotel, the staff was super friendly and helpful (they even specially set up a couple of umbrellas on the beach for us), we had a wonderful time first at the beach and then by their beautiful pool. We'll make sure to stay here the next time we're in the area.

Was so hot when we were there that I didn’t even looked for it! Sorry!
If you fly to San José del Cabo airport I suggest to rent a car is a 1.40 hours ride. If you fly to La Paz airport you can ask with the hotel manager and she arrange with a transportation company or you can also rent a car.
