I loved everything about The Hermitage - the location (literally inside a jungle), the room, the bathroom (yes!), the food, the quietness and the delightful hosts. Unfortunately, we planned this as a stopover on a trip to Bangalore from Mumbai, so one night is no justice to this place. This is the place to go to if you want to... More

I have always wanted to visit the jungle in India ! I visit Delhi and Mumbai once per month from London and it is quite easy to get caught up in the city life and completely miss out on the real India. My last trip to India was over a weekend and there was absolutely no way that I was... More

We picked this for an overnight stop over during our drive from Delhi to Bangalore. This is probably one of the best places to go to if you wish to go "off the grid". Tastefully done with attention to detail and it perfectly compliments its surroundings and location. David, Morvarid and Katrina were a pleasure to talk to. We would... More

I didn't know what to expect when I booked. But what awaited me was absolute bliss. The food was excellent, the hosts were knowledgeable, fun and laid back and we had the most amazing dinner time conversations. I strongly recommend the swim in the river. If you have a weekend to get away. This is the place to go. I... More

One of my treasured destination so far.. When your pick up cab enters the deep forests, you will be surely lost in the woods. Black tar roads slowly disappearing into mud paths, mobile phone signals dropping completely, humming of insects, chirping of birds, Noises of critters, strange sign boards welcoming you... Then you reach The Hermitage Guest House (THGH) .... More

The Hermitage Guesthouse... One should not miss going there. Family, couple, friends, alone.... I can assure you that you would enjoy in any company or without company! The stay was fantastic... You are made to experience nature at its best form. David knows where to take you once he knows you better and your interests. Food was great! Home cooked... More

David and Morvarid really took care of us, serving excellent food and making us feel part of their family, not just paying guests. They are both witty and interesting companions. There we were, in the fenced off jungle, on an interesting organic farm....amazing! The highlight for me was swimming in the quiet green river, with a monkey sauntering across it... More

I knew I was going to be staying at The Hermitage on my visit to Belgaum, but I had not bargained for the myriad culture shocks, which hit me in quick succession, as the hooded jeep turned off the macadam road 45 kms before the city on the highway from Goa. It was a case of “systems failure”. First, both... More

If you want peace, nature, a rural setting, excellent food and wonderful hosts, this place is for you. What a wonderful environment to relax. David and Morwarid really looked after me, arranging pick up from airport, showing me the local sights and helping me organise my onward trip to Hampi and Goa. I stayed in the Gota, the orginal location... More
