I hope that says it all. Gargonza is great value for money and I never fail to stay here once or twice a year. It is Tuscany. Yes, it has minor irritations, such as wonderful log fires instead of dreadful TV. Food is plentiful, even...More
Stayed here for a weekend as part of a friends wedding. There was about 80 in the party. Have a very enjoyable weekend. The setting is amazing. Staff very friendly and the food was very good. Most of the accomodation consists of converted old vilage...More
Gargonza is literally an old village enclosed in a castle wall. It is secluded, and a 10 minute drive from the nearest sizeable town.
The location is beautiful, and very atmospheric. The staff at reception were very friendly, helping us with local directions etc.
Stayed here for two nights as part of a wedding celebration and it really is a dream venue. Set on a hilltop overlooking the Tuscan countryside, the castle, the chapel and the lemon garden are an idyllic mix. Peaceful, romantic and secluded - somewhere to...More

This is a medieval village. There is no air conditioning! If that's what you need, look elsewhere. The walls are thick, windows few as was normal - to keep out the sun in summer and the cold in winter. The village is also high up in the hills and naturally cooled. But if you can't live without AC please stay away!
