Scott and John really work at making a good impression, which might be annoying except that they're also pleasant to be around. We were in the "forest view" room, meaning it doesn't have the panoramic view, which doesn't matter because we were free to use the living room and deck with that view. We had a very pleasant two nights

We had a fantastic stay with John & Scott in their amazing B&B. Everything about their place is designed with exquisite taste for comfort, beauty, and enjoyment of the beautiful surroundings. We found it difficult to leave the lovely setting and decided to enjoy our "takeout" meals on the deck overlooking the valley, sea, & mountains. John & Scott prepared... More

Gosh, what high praise – thank you so much! We are indeed very lucky to have found such a beautiful location for our B&B, with its spectacular views of Tasman Bay, the Motueka River, and the surrounding mountains and rural landscapes. So it is nice to know you appreciated these views while dining al-fresco on our deck. It is always... More

We would totally recommend Awatea Tasman Bay. Some of the best views of valley I have ever seen. Very private cottage. What John & Scott have created is very calm with everything you need to relax & just breath! John & Scott also have a very great connection to nature & have something very special in the heart of Tasman.... More

Thank you for the wonderful endorsement Lucie & Craig! Our aim is to provide beautiful accommodation with a connection to the surrounding environment, so we are very glad to know that you appreciate this effort. And thank you for also mentioning that our place is in the heart of Tasman, so it is very easy to explore Golden Bay, Abel... More

We visited Awatea Tasman Bay at the start of January. We booked into the self catered cottage for 3 nights. We had such a fabulous time and the cottage is beyond perfect. We were welcomed by Scott and met John later the next day. As hosts they are so welcoming and a fountain of knowledge for the area. They even... More

We had a phenomenal stay with John and Scott in one of their two bed & breakfast rooms. The most striking aspect of the property is the stunning view of the surrounding bay; we spent much of our time watching the changing scenery and colors. The owners do a remarkable job ensuring a comfortable and fun visit. They were proactive... More

We stayed at the Cottage and we were extremely happy. We did a few hikes in the surrounded area and it was a treat to come back to the cottage after an active day out to enjoy the space and the view. The Cottage is private and detached from the other rooms and offers great views from the semi-private deck.... More

Thanks E, for your review. We’re pleased you took the initiative to go out early in the day to Abel Tasman National Park to see all it’s natural beauty and attractions. And, we’re happy you enjoyed The Cottage – it’s a cozy, private, fully-serviced place, with terrific views over the Bay and valley, which is a bit hard to leave,... More

My wife and I had an amazing experience here. Amazing views, perfect breakfast, every little detail taken care of. The hot tub was a big bonus. Perfect staging area for a trip out to Abel Tasman. Highly recommended!

Thanks, G, for your review. As you wrote, it’s good to come back to a nice, hot, spa pool to relax in after walking, kayaking, (or, in your case, canyoning) in Abel Tasman National Park. And, as we are only a short drive from the park, you don’t have to get up too early to still get to the park... More

We stayed 4 nights in the cottage and we can honestly say this is a special place to stay. Thanks for your thoughtful review, M&J; your words are very kind and the sincerity of your comments is obviously appreciated. Privacy/solitude is something we also value at Awatea, and being in our special location allows that quite easily, while still being only 10 minutes from Motueka and a few minutes more to Abel Tasman National Park – what more could...
