We'd initially planned on staying for 2 days and immediately extended the trip on reaching the place. Other than the rocky road that leads to this place, everything else is perfect. It is recommended to use their shuttle service to avoid damages to your car or extra fee from the taxi driver, which is what happened to us. I was communicating with Charleen via email, who was so on the ball and lovely. Unfortunately we couldn't meet as it was Christmas time; however the remaining staff were v cordial. The rooms are lovely and basic (no mini fridge or ac) but honestly we didn't need either. L’Exil has amazing hiking locations all around and it's a shame to not explore. Other than the famous Cascade Leon, try to hike to the top of the waterfall or hike further down to Cecil Dam or other nearby locations. It's just spectacular... from bamboo forests to eucalyptus forests to wild orchids and monkeys we saw it all. Of course, there are lots and lots of mosquitoes so be prepared. For me, the best part was that I could take my dog on a holiday with us and he had the time of his life seeing things he's never seen before and going on hikes. He's v well trained so my husband and I took him to the restaurant with us as well :) The staff/ chef is on a rotation basis, so the first night the dinner was quite disappointing and the servers at breakfast were clueless. However, the following days were such better food n service. It's a fixed menu, so if you're vegetarian or have any dietary restrictions, let them know. Overall, it's a really beautiful and relaxing place to unwind. Hiking is a must as that's what will make your trip even more special :) Thank you for the memories…
An absolutely terrible experience - We booked a 2 night stay with L'Exil, paid a 50% advance as requested, received a booking confirmation. After all this was done, they called to inform us that they could put us up for one night only, and would retain the 50% advance as full payment. We, of course, cancelled our stay and demanded a full refund, which they made. There was no offer of rescheduling, or suggestions of any other kind of amends, for the 'mistake of processing a booking, and a 50% advance payment'. This is by far the most unapologetically unprofessional encounter I have had in the hospitality business.
The place to be. Wonderful place Cut off the world Cosy room but need to provide a mini bar FOOD was great / otentik Need to provide cream or spray for mosquitos. There must be life guard at leon falls. It seem dangerous and we don't have guide from where to enter to swim.
Hello there. It was indeed a nice time at lexil. Thanks for the hospitality and the nice food.To my opinion there should be some benches or, why not a koisk, somewhere in the middle of the lodges No.1 to 5 where we can sit and chat among families or friends. Also an indication at specific points towards Cascade Leon would be a plus for those who are going there for the 1st time.Otherwise I would encourage others to go there where one can b freed from all routine stressand b away from the routine life.Looking forward for another experience. Thanks again.Cheers.
Been there with colleagues on the 28th-29th Nov 2020. If you’re looking for an escape from your busy and hectic life, l’Exil is the place to be. Beautiful lodge lost in the woods, nature sounds , enchanting Cascade Leon, clean rooms, good food and great staff. Charleen was our host and she did such a great job. We had a warm welcome, she explained everything in detail, asked us to leave our phones and connect with nature. And she was right. We had the best moment. Big thanks to the staff. Looking forward to come back soon! ❤️
