Recently we called at the Bacchus for lunch with friends. The Hotel was quite busy on the day but we managed to find a table. The service was prompt and we only had a short wait for our meals. We all enjoyed the food as the quality was good and the portions generous. We will certainly return again in the... More

Had my 60th Birthday party in the function room at the back of the Bacchus. They were very flexible with the timing & so we setup at 1:00pm & continued till just before midnight. Bacchus did a lovely buffet that everyone enjoyed & for the quality of the food was reasonable in price. Alan was on duty that night &... More

We have been here many times for lunchtime meals and steak nights. The food is fresh and large portions, as we have a dog we sit in the function room, which to be fair isn't the best location in the pub, but it is preferable to leaving the dog in the car. If it was advertised in the window of... More

We stayed overnight as were meeting up with friends who live locally. We were given the bridal suite with lace curtains round the four poster bed which was amusing. The room was clean with a small but perfectly adequate ensuite. Tea tray in the room. Breakfast very good. Pub very busy in the evening. It appears to be at the... More

We travelled to the coast for a day trip as a family and decided to stay the evening and found The Bacchus Hotel on line. We were shown to our room on arrival to which we were all impressed. There was a beer festival on with bands in the garden, BBQ, popcorn and candy floss, great atmosphere. We then spent... More

Just came back from a bank holiday weekend at the Bacchus. It would appear that they are going through a phase of redecorating, but that did not spoil our weekend. All the staff (and I do mean all) were great - really friendly, especially the guy serving breakfasts when my daughter wanted mushrooms (but not cooked). We just happened (ha... More

Went into the side where dogs are allowed. It's drab and dreary. Always was but now even worse as taken down the bar memorabilia and the walls are just plain woodchip in 70's pastel. Toilets filthy and damp. Service non existent but worst thing was they had a kids disco on, very loud music being played through speakers from someone's... More

Nothing I can say will deal with customers or people that make such comments it's a shame when they choose tripadvisor to make personnel attacks on a premises. We are very dog friendly hotel but unfortunately these people would not accept that they could not take there dogs into a childrens private birthday party. If there dog had bitten a... More

This is a good lively bar scene which serves most major beers, and also has some food- however the food is very much bar food. The decor is a little tired and could do with refreshing but the bar is busy being one of the few in sutton on sea.
