We stayed at Anna Beach with friends as two couples, the things that stood out the most was firstly the staff, Matty and his team were outstanding, welcome drinks on arrival and gifts on departure. The rooms were cleaned daily with fresh towels every day. Second was the view, absolutely stunning, the third was the people of Thassos, so friendly, no hassle and the restaurants were great, we ate some fantastic food but was not hassled at all. Getting back to the hotel itself, it is small but well maintained, exceptionally clean, the staff were so attentive, George and Nico were the staff we had the most contact with and they were perfect, Matty the owner is a big Liverpool fan and had great banter, nothing was too much trouble, we got free desserts every time we ate at the hotel, the food was great by the way, Matty would turn up with a free round of drinks saying "on me". I am not one to return to the same place as the world is a big place but we all agreed we will have to go back. The hotel has a sports bar which shows every sport you could want, if this is not your thing then you may want to consider if this is the hotel for you you cannot give a poor review if you have not done your homework. This leads me on to my final part of the review, I overheard a guest absolutely slating the hotel to the TUI rep, mentioning "I want signification monetary renumeration" but did not want to change hotels??? Numpty I struggle when someone would damage a small businesses reputation for financial gain. If you see a poor review after this then it's probably him, every guest we spoke too loved the quirky little hotel with amazing staff and views .PS, everything you need is literally 5 minutes away, from supermarkets, chemists, restaurants, car hire, boat trips and even a dentist. Give it a go unless you hate sports.

We have just had the best 11 nights staying at Anna Beach, the only downside I can see is that we weren't there long enough! Matty is an absolute treasure from the moment we lifted our cases up those steps, to the moment he waved goodbye. He went out of his way to make us feel welcome, he even set up a little table for us in front of the screen so my boys could watch their beloved Arsenal! We totally fell in love with Thassos, it's a really authentic and unspoilt island and is well worth hiring a car for a few days to explore all the beautiful beaches. Limenaria is a great little town. I must admit, I was a bit nervous before we arrived after reading some comments about the town, but we were pleasantly surprised! There are some amazing restaurants (our particular favourite was Limenariotissa Foodhouse, such delicious homecooked food and very reasonably priced) and some cracking little cocktail bars. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Anna Beach and Thassos as a whole, and we all can't wait to return. Thankyou Matty and team!

Anna Beach has lovely apartments, that are kept & cleaned to a high standard. All have a view of either the pool (at the back) or the beach (at the front). Matthew is amazing, an absolute diamond & nothing is too much trouble for him & his staff. We asked for rugby on 1 of the screens and he put all the games that weekend on for us. Food is everything you'd ask for - traditional Greek cooked to perfection. You name your favorite tipple and I'm sure he'd have it. Sunbeds on the beach are free to anyone staying at the apartments. Beach at Limenaria is sandy but trying to get in the sea is a job & half! Small stones & hidden pebbles in the sea, makes it difficult to just wade in but once in, just lovely. Would I recomnend Anna Beach? In an instance! Want to thank Matthew for always being there with a smile & making us laugh. Although I draw the line at supporting 'his Liverpool'!

Just got home from our 2 weeks at Anna Beach and had a wonderful break. The location is great and offers both a good swimming pool and also situated right on the beach. Matty was brilliant as host and made everything happen that we request including multiple screen football matches. All the staff were great with rooms tidied every day and towels changed daily. The hotel offers a great menu for all meals of the day at really good prices. As for Limenaria, the location was good with many places to eat. There is a bus service that gives you options to go to different places around the island. We had two kids 11 and 13 who would have liked a few more things to do locally but we did do the 4x4 safari which was great and took us up to the top of the mountain and to the waterfalls. It really is a pretty island so would recommend doing this. Overall Thassos is a lovely quiet island and Matty, George and Pascali at Anna Beach helped to make our stay really enjoyable.

Anna Beach, what a find. Accommodation was basic but clean. Matthew and his team were excellent, nothing was too much trouble, infact I would say without them our holiday would not have been the same The location was perfect right by the beach - 1 min walk. Food at Matthews bar/restaurant was excellent. Lots of Tavernas nearby. The beach is lovely but you will need beach shoes for the sea as there are some rocks. A local bakery 3 min walk away along with a supermarket about a 5 minute walk Liminaria was a very pretty town. I will definitely be going back.

We have just returned from Anna Beach. The whole family has proper holiday blues. Mostly due to the very warm welcome we received from Matthew on our arrival which continued for the whole holiday. The accommodation is basic but very clean and tidy, this was no problem as we spent all our time on the beach or round the pool. So very little time was spent in the rooms. Matthew and his time are brilliant and so friendly nothing was to much trouble. Thassos is an amazing island and the location of Anna each is perfect it sits right on the beach with plenty of restaurants and bars within a couple of minutes walk. If you want to come somewhere to just relax this place is perfect. The ice creams and Mythos beer are amazing. Once again Thank you so much Matthew for making our stay so perfect and memorable. The Fearn family

This was a last minute booking so didn’t really know much about where we were going or what to expect. Turned out we absolutely loved it. Room 402 (unexpected upgrade) was our home for a blissfully relaxing holiday. We paid for the aircon (daily rate of 8 euros) which was a great idea. Our room over looked the beach. Sitting on the patio was tranquility at its peak. Staff were lovely and nothing was too much trouble. Micheal is front of house and is friendly and approachable. We hope to be back now we have found this little place of peace and quiet. Thank you to all who made our stay memorable xxx

I really do think that the negative reviews of this hotel are unfair. If people want 5 star, why not look at holidays in the region of 3-4k plus? We loved our stay at Anna beach and we were made to feel welcome as soon as we arrived. The room was basic but clean, which we are happy with as we don't go on holiday to spend all day sitting in a room. We had a fridge, sink and hob. We ate out every lunchtime and night so didn't do any cooking but you would struggle a bit with a family if you wanted to stay in and cook. We had a top floor room with a pool and mountain view, which was nice. The hotel serves food at good prices and has a good selection of drinks. They do show football every day which we weren't too interested in but didn't bother us. They also cater for kids. Our kids had loads of fun in the pool. The pool area is small but very quiet and we never had a problem getting a bed. The beach is right opposite the hotel and the sunbeds are free for guests. We really liked the hotels proximity to all of the restaurants. It was easy to get out and about and didn't have to walk too far with the little ones to find nice food. The town is small but nice to walk around with a really good choice of restaurants. All staff at the hotel were very friendly and good with the kids. We even received a few nice gifts when we left which was a really nice gesture. We would definitely return to Anna beach and Limenaria. We were happy, the kids had a wale of a time and the people are very nice.

We read other reviews before booking this hotel and all I can think is that they either must be bots or people were visiting the same hotel in a parallel universe! We’d booked 1 x family studio and 1 x family apartment - but both rooms were very small. In our studio room the beds were extremely uncomfortable, which gave me acute back ache. List of things which didn’t work or were broken; bathroom window would not close so let in mosquitos in, the fridge wasn’t refrigerating, the cooker burners were rusted (however we weren’t interested in using them), cupboard furniture split and in general disrepair. Shower curtain was installed too high which meant that water went everywhere. The shower cubicle was tiny and the shower curtain would stick to you. The smell from the bathroom drain was rank. Some of this sounds like first world problems, but I thought booking with Tui it would be of a good standard, obviously not! In short the rooms and the whole hotel I don’t think could even be described as 1 star. The hotel would seemingly be in a good location with the beach right out front, however the noise from the bars drone on until the early hours, so don’t expect too much sleep before 2AM. In fact Anna Beach is a huge football type bar with a large screen for showing matches 7 days a week. If football and getting pissed every night is your thing you’ll be right at home. Pool is small with no facilities. I guess with the beach there you wouldn’t need it, however apart from sunbathing purposes, swimming is almost impossible on a majority of Thassos beaches. The beaches are usually all shingle sand but once you go in to the water you soon realise that the rocks which make up the first few meters cut your feet to ribbons. My young son and myself got cut feet in the first few days, and we saw other people experience the same issue. There are much better beaches that the one at Limenaria so make sure you check them out. Limenaria is very small and very crowded when we visited in July. Just a collection of tat shops and restaurants/ bars. The food in all the restaurants was pretty low quality. The only thing worth eating in my opinion was the sun dried octopus tentacles. There’s nothing attractive or could be recommended whatsoever about the town, it’s noisy, smelly and dusty with the sole purpose to suck money out of tourists. Even the restaurant staff seem really miserable (which I’d be as well!). Flies and wasps are also a big problem in this area. Even though we had jungle formula we still got badly bitten. The wasps are also something else, some restaurants will burn incense but it’s pretty terrible and really spoiled the evenings. Resorts I’ve been to in the past have sprayed insecticides which kept the bugs away, but not here it seems. In summary, stay well clear of this hotel and Limenaria in general! I’ve heard they do have some nice self contained resorts on the island but they were out of our price range for the time we were visiting. Personally we won’t be returning to Thassos.

Another fantastic trip! We hadn't been since 2019 and nothing had changed, still a great family holiday. Accommodation is exactly as expected for a small traditional island. Matthew and his team, including the cleaners work so hard and always smile and can't do enough for you. My daughter was so upset at leaving and can't wait to come back! If you are looking for 5 star amenities then this isn't the place for you, but if you're looking for a warm, hospitable welcome, a relaxing holiday without paying ludicrous prices then this is the best place possible. Fantastic start back to going abroad for holidays, quick mention to the lovely TUI rep as well, who was also great!
