The claxton hotel redcar
Great seafront Hotel
Booked direct and made a great saving compared to booking.com.
Arrived 1pm room not quite ready , but a lovely lady ' lyn took us to the bar area we're we had a drink and a couple of lovely panni's
room ready in 15 mins.
Beautiful Modern room Spotlessly clean, walk in shower really powerful no view out of window (frosted) as it was ground floor at the back , but we knew this you can request sea view room and it's a uninterrupted view of the beach and sea.
The hotel is lovely nice decor all staff very friendly, dog friendly. Very relaxing.
We went out for the rest of the day and night really like redcar fab night watching the band in o'gradys .
Breakfast was from 7 till 9
Help yourself to cereal hot drinks juice and a toast machine .
Then happy staff take your food order choice of cooked breakfasts and vegetarian and breakfast baps . All was hot and well presented
My husband loved that you got beans and tin tomatoes.
The car was parked in the small carpark at the back , but there are a few spaces on the road outside infrastructure of the hotel you just get a pass from reception.
Check out was 1030 but they said no rush to move car so beautiful sunny Sunday morning walk along the promenade. We go away every 6 weeks just over night in the Yorkshire and North East area , and have stayed at lots of b&bs , pubs, and hotels. And we will definitely be coming back to the claxton , lovely hotel clean, great position, dog friendly best asset the staff all smiling and seem to enjoy what they doing . Well done claxton

One of the best nights stays I have ever had. The room was beautiful and I just couldn't stop looking at the sea and the boats from the window. I decided to stay in the room the whole evening. I had a lovely hot bath and had a room service homemade curry which was plentiful, delicious and very reasonably priced with a big glass of wine. Dawn and all the staff were super friendly and very kind and welcoming to my old dog.Great central location and Redcar beaches are fabulous and the local folk are so friendly.

We always stay here but has been a while
There has been a lot of change the bar has been extended it is beautiful very comfortable feel at home in these surroundings
We stayed in deluxe double which has a beautiful sea view, spa bath bed was so comfortable logged into Wi-Fi no bother bedding very clean
Now for the staff who are the making of this hotel very friendly nothing is too much trouble they are a credit to the owner who herself is so friendly and welcoming
Breakfast is the best we have had anywhere, also had evening meals which are perfect
Thank you Claxton we will be back

We arrived before the check in time which was 1.00pm, as our rooms were ready we were given the keys. We booked two deluxe doubles, they have jacuzzi’s in the baths. My friend has two collie dogs, which are allowed in the room for a small charge. The rooms and all areas are spotlessly clean. The rooms have their own heating system which warms the room very quickly. Breakfast was cooked fresh and such a treat to have, the dogs got a sausage each every morning. The staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Keep up the good work we will back. Perfect location to explore the area and not far from the train station and the Redcar race course.

Pleasantly surprised at the standard of this hotel. We had problems with travel cos of weather so needed to change our booking fairly last minute. Our original room unavailable so offered another one. On checking in the girl checked we were happy with the room and offered an alternative too. We took a twin room on ground floor. V happy though cold on entering it soon warmed up. Everything was good standard. We ate in hotel in evening home cooked basic food most reasonable prices plus a glass of decent red wine for £3.20! I’m a fussy person but it was very acceptable. Staff lovely. Good location. We visited a Brazilian coffee house in high street. Again friendly and quality. All in all a good trip to Redcar.

Stayed here just one night. Booked sea view room (#6) which had a fine view over the beach and turbines (watched the fishing boats go out early, and both lifeboats on a training exercise. Bit of a busman's holiday for me after 45 years in the Merchant Navy mind!).
Check in was a bit disorganised. No reception as such and just grabbed a passing lady in a Claxton polo shirt - she could have been the cleaner for all I knew!!
However, she was friendly and helpful. Room was surprisingly large and modern. Very clean with a large bathroom. Decor was minimalist but neat. Bit sad that there were no complementary biscuits with the tea and coffee provided though. Bed was comfy and despite been at the top of Redcar High Street on a busy Saturday we didn't get disturbed by any noise.
Breakfast was traditional full English (choice of regular, small, vegitarian or just a sausage/bacon roll). Excellent value with good quality products with fried bread, black pudding, and beans plus tinned tomatoes.
Enjoyed our brief stay and will definitely be coming bavk again if needed.

We’ve just returned from a two night stay, and we are missing it already. We had two deluxe double rooms, (one with two collies ) and a single room. All three rooms were spotlessly clean, plenty of tea & coffe etc. The beds were so comfortable. We ate in on the Sunday evening, (the dogs are allowed into the very comfortable bar area) the food we had was excellent. Breakfast was cooked fresh, the toaster worked very well for us. The staff, were so friendly and helpful, always had a smile for you and an ear rub for the collies. Keep up the good work. We will be back.

Easily one of the best places I have stayed. Went for relaxing break with my daughters, and I cannot find fault with anything. Every member of staff we had contact with was lovely friendly helpful. The food was home cooked and delicious that included the breakfast that was cooked to order and came exactly how you asked for it. We had the deluxe room on ground floor it certainly lived up to the name deluxe. So spacious so much room for clothes etc unlike many where u have 2 drawers. The bathroom was amazing with a shower so roomy and choice of shower heads.
As if all this wasn’t enough it is definitely the cleanest hotel I’ve stayed in. Add free Wi-Fi even in the rooms and flat screen tv to mix as well as great location close to everything.
We had a fabulous weekend and will 100% be returning.

Never been to this hotel so didn’t know what to expect. We took two small dogs. The hotel couldn’t have been more accommodating. The room was a lovely sea view room at a cost of £99 including breakfast the charge for the dogs a mere £10.. absolutely blown away with the value for money. The room was very comfortable and tastefully decorated. The bed was firm and we slept well. The breakfast was beautiful and they even provided the dogs with a sausage a piece. Highly recommend this hotel and the beach until the 1st of May is dog friendly and you can walk for miles. We stayed in room 1

Staff are very flexible rooms are always ready for 3pm however, if you arrive early they are more than happy to store any luggage you may have. Checkout is 11am. This is such a friendly hotel and immaculately clean.

We were on the first floor so only had 1 flight of stairs to go up. There seemed to be a few rooms on that floor can't remember if there was a lift to all the floors. Might be worth ringing and checking as the hotel and rooms are lovely.

Ours (we had two rooms) didn't have a bath. Both had very good showers.
