I took my husband to Samoa for his 50th birthday and we stayed here. It was recommended to me by our travel agent. Beautiful little villas, we got upgraded to one right on oceanfront. Lovely staff, meals, facilities. Only issue was that Apia and most activities are on other side of island so you need a car ideally.

When we arrived in Samoa we were pleasantly surprised to see how lush and green the country was and when we arrived at Sinalei, WOW stunning! And it just got better from there... Our room was an Ocean View room and it was superb, close to everything and clean and tidy with a big comfortable bed and fluffy towels in the bathroom. The Food was beautiful and fresh. The cocktails/ mocktails, depending on what time of day, were yummy. The staff from the grounds men, the cleaners the kitchen, restaurant and bar staff up to the office staff were all friendly and helpful and we had a couple of amazing tours with the amazing Tina, she is an asset for the resort, she is full of local knowledge and can talk for hours on just about anything... Finally, I am really impressed with the resorts initiative to become plastic free, there are things that still can be done there but they are on the right track. My one gripe was that we were not there for long enough. I needed at least another week at Sinalei.

Talofa Dear Felicity, Thank you for taking the time to share your wonderful review with us. We are so blessed to have had you stay for a week despite it not being long enough a visit. Also delighted to hear that you managed to experience all the wonderful things that there are available to do at the resort and of course experience the special Tina and her tours around Samoa. I am sure that there is much more to share and experience for another visit in the future and hope that you might choose to one day return for more fun in Samoan Sun. Much alofas, Your Sinalei Aiga

A beautiful resort where all the staff were very helpful and pleasant especially as my husband has a disability and does not walk easily. The villa that we stayed in was very comfortable and had a magnificent view. Some infrastructure such as the path to the over the water restaraunt needs improvement.

My wife and I spent nine nights here. We needed a relaxing break away from winter and that Groundhog Day feeling, and it didn't disappoint. The facilities are comfortable and spacious, and our Ocean View fale had a lovely palm-fringed outlook across the lagoon to the reef. The aircon was effective and there is a ceiling fan and they all worked well and they weren't too noisy, and even the fridge was quiet. Our fale, and I presume others, were showing signs of age and will need refreshing sometime soon, as will the linen. We snorkelled, swam, and saw turtles in the lagoon at the resort. It is a large lagoon. The water is mostly shallow and safe. We appreciated the work of the staff to ensure that we had a great time. The live music in the evening was full of those beautiful harmonies heard all across Te Moanaui a Kiwa/Pacific Ocean. To enjoy Samoan hospitality is truly a wonderful experience, and our hearts were touched. We thought the breakfasts and evening meals were very good, the lunch not so much. There are local places a short walk along the beach that do a limited choice of food quite well, and we ate there often. It is a nice drive of about 25 minutes into Apia, and easy distance to To Sua trench and the giant clam sanctuary. We hired a car from the resort at 90 Tala a day for six days and this seemed reasonable, but in future we will hire a car from the airport now that we know our basic way around. We enjoyed our stay very much, and we were sad to leave.

Talofa dear Steve, Thank you for taking the time to share your lovely and detailed review with us. So glad that you managed to stay for such a long period of time as it does take awhile to settle in to island living and become intimate with the Sinalei that is loved by so many. We are always so pleased to hear that close connections are made between our staff and visiting guests every day and even more delighted when it results in a memorable experience that touches the heart. That you took the time to visit and enjoy some the beautiful elements that make Samoa a gem, gives us hope that you left with a piece of Samoa and in turn left a bit of yourself here. The culture, the surrounds and even the location of our well situated resort to all of the many sites worth discovering, makes for a great mixture of relaxation and activity and so glad that you experienced both. We take on board your comments about the traditional rooms you stayed in and the lunches that did not amaze, and hope that it results in a new and improved Sinalei upon your next visit. We wish you all the very best in the year ahead. Much alofas, Your Sinalei Aiga

The Sinalei was outstanding for its natural beauty, venue, beautiful staff that were warm and friendly and the room was really comfortable . There was nothing that could of made our stay any better except for the mixed bag of food that was on offer. I tried a range of food from both the buffet and the menu, and felt that some parts of the dishes were really good and some of what was served let it down. I am not saying this is a bad thing but food is very big commodity in the hospo trade and therefore the Sinalei could be up there with the likes of Paddles, Apia. The Sinalei had everything and more on my wish list from the start of my time in Samoa to having to leave behind all of you to return to NZ
