Detailed Reviews
After 3 months of lockdown/isolation restrictions we decided to take a break at Hatta Fort. We were very impressed by the measures taken to ensure guests are safe.
On check in everyone was wearing masks. Our credit card was scrupulously sanitized before being handed back to us, as was our key. We heard from the staff that everyone had been recently tested and found Covid free.
The rooms were spotless, as always. Again, we were informed that the rooms are thoroughly sanitized and fogged and left vacant for 24 hrs between guests.
The restaurants have well spaced tables - alternate tables have been removed, and the bar is now an extended dining area so guests have lots of space.
These are difficult times globally, and it's a pity that these things now matter. But, Hatta Fort has done an amazing job in maintaining the highest standards of comfort and hospitality, while still making sure that all measures to minimize risk are carefully followed.
It was wonderful to know that we can still take a break and enjoy the lovely Hatta Fort experience without feeling that we're compromising on safety to do it. Thank you, all!

JA Hatta Fort is currently the only hotel in the popular outdoor activity / mountain area of Hatta, so as a result is a little overpriced and has been able to be somewhat complacent in terms of upgrading its facilities. However, on a recent short visit, I was pleasantly impressed and enjoyed my stay.
Set in expansive grounds, the hotels rooms spread out in both directions from the central building which houses the lobby, restaurant and bar. My room had a stunning panorama of the hotel grounds and the mountains beyond. The room was very clean although a little dated in design. The bed was comfy, a good sized TV had a range of channels and the bathroom was shiny with a good walk in shower. The highlight was the outdoor terrace, with comfortable chairs.
I didn't try the sports facilities, although a range of options are available, including a family and an adult pool. Its a great base for hiking or cycling. plenty to keep kids happy.
I was impressed by the quality of food for both dinner and breakfast, which is important given the lack of other dining options in Hatta. You can get an excellent 3 course dinner here. The head chef Sufiyan comes out to greet diners personally and takes obvious pride in his work.
I found all hotel staff to be friendly and helpful. Service is definitely 5 star, if the hotel buildings and facilities are more 4 star, but this is a family-orientated country hotel, not a city luxury city property. In that context, its excellent and I would definitely come back.

Dear savvy_dave Many heartfelt thanks for such a positive post of your recent stay at JA Hatta Fort Hotel. It is very kind that you have taken the time to write such a detailed review, covering many aspects of your visit with us. We are very fortunate that the resort is nestled within the Hajjar Mountains, and indeed Hatta as a destination, as there really is so much to enjoy. I am not sure if you had the time to explore Hatta this time, but if not, make sure you take the time to do so during your next visit. Warmest regards, Deborah

A very beautiful, peaceful, warm place to stay. Staff are all active, alert and friendly. There were lots of activities to choose from, including a climb to the hill for a short hike, wall climb and archery. We were welcomed in the room with a platter of fruits and hand written message card by the General Manager. Rooms are huge and lovely, well furnished, decorated and arranged, we were booked in a "Mountain View" and comes with a nice terrace, gazed dreamily at the moon and that HATTA sign on the mountain throughout the evening. The pool was huge, tho major part is shallow it was relaxing to dip into the water. There was a nice small outdoor cinema screen for families to watch together. Breakfast was such a treat, everything was "delicioso!", excellent selections, excellent flavors. To top it all, we were given a late check out!

Nice property, a bit dated though. Customer service is very ordinary. We were there to celebrate our daughter's 8th birthday. Emailed them well before to check which activities will be available for kids to plan how we could make it enjoyable for the kids.. however no one responded.
Although we booked direct from JA Fort website, and Entertainer has an offer to avail a complimentary night, however they did not allow us to use the Entertainer voucher at all stating non-availability of the offer for this month.
Even though it was our daughter's birthday, did not feel the tiniest initiative from any of the staff to make it a bit special for her which is usually a sign of good hospitality service.
The breakfast is very basic, and also overall guest services quite slow.
The cleanliness was below par. There were hair on bed and the sofa, from the previous guests which should have been cleaned before our arrival.
The footstool in the balcony had spots from spillage, which seems to have hardened over past few days.
Even while the staff visited the room to check up on the extra beddings etc., they did not bother to either change any of the used glasses or tea cups in the room, or to empty the open dustbin which was full to the top.
Eventually had to tie up the bin bag ourselves, and request for fresh glasses which surprisingly took over an hour to arrive.
Their green open areas is a nice contrast from the surroundings though, and the activity of Kite flying was good for the kids.
The staff for Kite flying was quite helpful too.

Overall it was an ok stay. Though, we expected more.
Arrival and check in: No one to take the luggages and check-in took too long. The manager told our room will be ready after 30 minutes (we arrived at after 4pm, way past the 3pm check-in time) as they are sanitising the room? He also offered coffee while we wait, which never arrived?
Room was good, we loved it. Cleanliness could improve though.
Breakfast was a disaster at the restaurant. Unpleasant staff, no smiling faces (its hard to smile when you are too busy, I get it), the food we ordered was forgotten. We ordered orange juice, didn't arrive. We ordered coffee, had to remind again and was served only then. Also, ordered fruit platter which had only pineapple and 4 grape pieces, I mean really?! Further, asked the staff to switch the aircon 'off' as it made our food cold, he just ignored us! However, next day ordered breakfast in room and got a great and fast service.
Checkout was fine and fast. For sure they need to hire some good customer services manager and a better F&B manager too.

JA HATTA FORT HOTEL 2019
We stayed at this oasis in November 2019. It is a 2 hour drive to get to the hotel, well worth it!!! From the first appearance driving up to the hotel it looks like paradise. The food was excellent we had breakfast and dinner every night for the week we were there. My husband had recently been very unwell so a complete chill was required. This is the place to go. The staff from front desk, room staff, restaurant and pool all very attentive to ensure you have the best of time. Our very favourite facility was the adult pool. It is gated and children are not permitted they have a large pool for them. This was perfect for us. We just chilled every day in the sun fantastic. We did venture out one day for a stroll the grounds are very well kept and even have a zoo. What an amazing place for any age.
Our rooms were looked after every day, clean towels, sheets and amenities replenished what more could you want. We would certainly recommend this hotel it is well worth the long drive there. Indeed we are back there in February and so looking forward to seeing the friendly faces and wonderful hotel, thank you again Karen and Eric

Dear 990karena, Many heartfelt thanks for taking the time to write such a wonderful and positive review of your recent stay at JA Hatta Fort Hotel. I am pleased to read that you thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of your stay. Lots of our guests consider our beautiful green resort as the “Oasis in the middle of the rocky mountains”. A perfect place to see watch the sunrise from your Mountain-View balcony or watch the sunset while relaxing with a drink on the Sunset Terrace. I know it the JA team will have enjoyed looking after you, and making sure you felt relaxed during your stay. I also know, they especially would have been happy sharing the opportunity to interact with the animals. Once again, Karen, I hope you and Eric had a wonderful stay here at JA Hatta Fort Hotel and we would love to have a chance of welcoming you back for another visit. Warm regards, Deborah Thomson

My first visit to Hatta and this hotel. Booked a 3 night stay over the long EID weekend and was very impressed. We were greeted warmly on arrival and even though very early for check in were invited to use the hotel facilities until our room was ready and told they would call me when the room was available (which they did well in advance of official check in time). We were checked in by the super helpful Muhran who told us about all the facilities, where everything was and made sure we were happy.
We were in a deluxe mountain room and it was truly lovely. Very unique style with vaulted roof and fort themed headboard to the huge king sized bed (which was super comfy). The room had a seating area, plenty wardrobe storage, a vanity area with good lighting, in room safe and a large bathroom with separate walk in shower and bath. There was a good sized balcony overlooking the famous Hatta sign, with furniture, which we loved.
The hotel has two pools, one a family pool and one adults only under Gazebo restaurant. We only visited the adult pool, which whilst not large, is lovely and very clean and peaceful. There is waiter service around the pool and very helpful lifeguards/pool attendants.
In terms of food we only ate in Gazebo as we preferred the more relaxed atmosphere rather than the more formal restaurant. Both breakfast and evening meal are buffet style and whilst the selection is not huge, there is plenty choice and all food was fresh and tasty and we felt it was good value. They also offer lunch, either in the restaurant or by the pool with good choice of options. A slight constructive criticism - the hotel provides refillable bottles of still water in the room but you have to buy imported water in the restaurant. It would be a nice touch if the local water in refillable bottles was also offered in the restaurant.
The hotel ground are very well maintained and there are activities in the grounds such as horse riding, animal visiting and children's activities. The hotel is ideally situated for all the activities available in Hatta, including Hatta Dam and the multitude of activities at Hatta Wadi Hub.
All in all a lovely stay - in fact we were so happy we extended our stay for a further night and were very grateful to Muhran again who went out of his way to secure this despite the hotel showing as fully booked everywhere with it being the EID holiday.
I would also like to comment about the staff who were all very polite, helpful and friendly. However a particular mention to Muhran (receptionist), Dilan and Amal who work in Gazebo and around the adult pool, Sameel the lovely lifeguard/pool attendant and Angel on reception in Gazebo. Each of them went over and above and are to be commended for their excellent service.
As the title of the review outlines, this was our first visit to Hatta Fort Hotel (and Hatta) but we will definitely return. A lovely hotel that I highly recommend.

+1
Despite being the only proper hotel in popular Hatta, the Hatta Fort staff work really hard to maintain high standards and give you an enjoyable stay.
The expansive grounds are beautiful and well tended, rooms are large and comfortable and all have terraces overlooking the gardens and mountains. The hotel is close to all required amenities (ATM, supermarket, gas station, etc) and just a few minutes drive from wadi hub, where the huge range of outdoor activities and adventure sports can be accessed.
Food is great, with especially good cuisine for dinner at Jeema. I also love the bar with its sunset terrace and happy hour.
Rates can be high at peak times, reflecting the scarcity of accommodation in Hatta, but good deals can be had mid-week. Its a place you will want to come back to, so relaxing and quite, but yet just an hour drive from Dubai. Warmly recommended.

This hotel is located in Hatta area of Dubai Emirates. Its very close to Oman border 1 hour drive from Dubai via sharjah Kalba road. One can also reach using RTA bus if own car is not an option.
The property has been made on hilly area and surrounded with lot of greenery. Its a good option for escaping from main city's noise. Hotel management has put lot of efforts to make property aesthetically appealing . Rooms are big , cleanliness has been maintained through out the property. Breakfast had good options along with quality food. This property has two restaurants and one bar , you can enjoy shisha in bar too.
Over all we had good experience and would love to come back again but only in winter season. I am not sure about summer as its unbearably hot during peak summer time.

Dear Musafirsince1986 It is a true pleasure to read that you enjoyed a weekend getaway while staying with us at JA Hatta Fort Hotel. Thank you for your kind words regarding the effort it takes to have lovely greenery within the Resort. I am sure you will be delighted to know we managed to keep our gardens looking good, only using natural groundwater. We would certainly love to welcome you back in the near future. Warmest regards, Deborah

We stayed for 5 nights at the start of November. We where recommended by a work colleague.
We do not have a car and got a Dubai taxi out to the hotel it was around 300aed.
On arrival at the hotel the check in process was friendly and easy.
The rooms are great and the private balconies all have a great view of the grounds and the mountains in the background.
One day we walked up to the hatta dam from the hotel. A hot 1.5 hour walk but really easy to find.
Another day we relaxed by the pool and enjoyed a nice cold drink served poolside.
We visited the Hatta Honey Bee Farm and made use of the hotel car service which is 50aed per trip which is reasonable.
On our last day we took part in the on site activities of archery, shooting and mini golf. Sunil was a great instructor.
The food is incredible, multiple breakfast options from fruit and pastries to hot food and egg station. Lunch is served nearly all day which is great if you do go off site and get back later in the afternoon and need some food.
The food service timings mean that there is not a time where food is not be being served.
The evening meal selection is great with daily specials also on offer.
The service from all staff throughout our stay was great, friendly and respectful. One particular mention to Francisca who added to making our holiday special. Each day whether we bumped into her at lunch or dinner she stopped to ask how our day was. We hope she has a great wedding in December!
To get back to Dubai we jumped on the Dubai bus from the bus station just up the road from the hotel.

You can bring your dog in the restaurant near the pool. It's outside, though. Better to have breakfast early so it's not very hot. During winters it's fine.
Mini Golf Area is not chargeable. It is good to go for Half Board as not much good options outside.
Yes...they are allowed
Yes they have robes and slippers. I don't remember the brand of the bathroom amenities.
Hi Mona,
would like to inform you that we do have two double beds in the family room (on double bed in each room) and these beds can be made as twin beds if required.
Thank you
