We were so lucky to get here for a week at the end of August. We were nervous about going on holiday during the pandemic, but we had the most amazing week here. When we arrived there was no long check in, we were taken straight to our room. Our room was on the ground floor with a little private patio, we could see the pool but we were surrounded by olive trees so it felt very private. The room was a good size, bed very comfy and everything was very clean. You could see that the hotel was taking lots of precautions to protect against covid. We paid extra for the aircon as it was very hot in August. The hotel bar is run by Despina, I think she is the owner and there all the time and she is lovely, will do everything to make your stay perfect. We had breakfast there everyday, the food is fantastic and really reasonable prices. We quite often had lunch there as well as the Greek salads and sausage were amazing. The pool is lovely and there is a hot tub type area which we loved. Plenty of sunloungers and if you don’t want to sit in the sun you can put them under the trees to get some shade. The walk to the beach is a pleasant 15 minutes, lots of lovely bars and restaurants down there. Our favourite was Maria’s, but all of the restaurants were really good. The hotel has a very laid back relaxed feeling. I will definitely come back here. …
An idyllic little hotel in the equally idyllic Kefalonian resort of Kato Katelios. We were one of the lucky ones to get away during 2020. All we wanted was something simple and relaxing to get away from the coronavirus crisis, and this place couldn’t have been more perfect. A privately run establishment, the atmosphere is very relaxed and laid back. Check-in was probably the most stress-free I have ever experienced. The small size of the hotel mean they already know your name and when you’re arriving, so just turn up at the poolside bar and they immediately take you direct to your apartment; all the formalities of passports and forms can be done later at your leisure. The pool area doesn’t get even slightly ‘busy’ until after 10am and the hotel has plenty of good quality loungers to go round, so there’s no problem finding one to lie on. Our favourite time round the pool was after 5pm when the sun wasn’t so fierce, the pool was quiet and calm, and we could go and sit in the free Jacuzzi in the corner. The parasols around the pool are a bit small and limited in number, so to avoid scorching in the sun we found a great spot on the grass near the pool, under the dappled shade of the palm trees. Being Greece, the place is full of cats, so cat lovers will love it here. And they’re quite brazen in the way they stake their claim to sun loungers and chairs. The food at the poolside bar was wonderful, cheap and very generous. The egg salad was especially good - a good sized meal, but not too filling. Our apartment was in the perfect location - on the ground floor, overlooking the pool area, but with shrubs in front of our terrace to give us some privacy. There is air conditioning available at €5/day, a worthwhile expense in the middle of summer! The toilet in the room had an insanely noisy cistern; using it in the middle of the night was guaranteed to wake everyone up! The kitchenette near the apartment entrance was very limited, but had a surprising amount of utensils considering its size. It would have been nice to have a full length mirror in the room and some brighter lights to actually see what we’re doing when getting ready in the evening. Plug sockets were also a bit limited around the room, with none next to the bed, leaving us to balance our phones on a chair next to the plug socket overnight. The hotel is an easy 15 minute walk to the main resort centre, a walk we made twice a day (lunch and evening). Most of the road has a footpath to one side, apart from a short 50m stretch where you need to watch for the traffic. We didn’t see may others walking the route, so maybe they got taxis(?) Near the hotel entrance on the main road there is a small supermarket, a bakery and a cash machine. There is also a bus stop both for buses to Argostoli and as a pickup point for coach excursions (we took a full day excursion around the island). Internet connection in the area was excellent, giving us 4G speeds even faster than our now home broadband, so no worries about being cut off from social media! This is definitely one place I would like to come back to again.…
Efrosini Village is a wonderful place to relax and unwind, run by lovely people. You immediately feel at home. Stunning mountain and sea views. Lovely pool area and bar serving delicious breakfasts and lunch. Only 10 minute walk down to the sea where you'll find the tavernas and bars. Can highly recommend waves to relax with a cold drink and light lunch. The rooms are basic and traditional, the bed was comfy, it wasn't spotlessly clean, some dust and cobwebs but it hasn't put us off we will return. Katelios has a beauty of it's own that captures your heart.
I highly recommend this place. People are really friendly and welcoming. You feel at home straight away. We had the all place for ourselves as it was the end of the season and we were treated as VIP. Our hosts were amazing especially Jenny and Fotis (our personal chef). The food is very cheap and freshly made. As for the place itself, very nice rooms and clean. Conveniently located near a beach and supermarkets.
We arrived in darkness not quite sure what to expect but just glad to be getting away for a week. We were greeted with a warm friendly welcome, shown to our room, which was beautiful. The apartments are set in the grounds with various citrus and pomegranate trees, very green and beautiful. The whole atmosphere and surroundings were perfect. Nothing was too much trouble for all staff, we ended up having our flights cancelled and stayed for another 3 days, again nothing was too much trouble, perfect and would highly recommend. Thank you Efrosini xx
