We stopped here for one night as a break from the road. Very homely feeling and friendly welcoming. They helped book a good restaurant for dinner. Clean room, worth the price. Good breakfast with variety and lactose free food.
My husband has just spent two nights at La Meridiana on his way driving south. He says he can’t think why more people driving past Aosta from Mont Blanc or the Grand St Bernard don’t stop for a day’s sightseeing in the Aosta Valley. La Meridiana is a charmingly quirky b&b, very comfortable, good value and convenient for drivers. The owners are very helpful and the breakfast is exceptional. There are unusual touches, such as the range of herbal teas in the bedroom, and no modern nonsense like having to put your key in a slot to operate the lights. La Meridiana is out of town but there is a simple, perfectly ok local restaurant 200m down the road. Rooms on the back of La Meridiana are quiet.
We were very much looking forward to our stay at the Meridiana as we had a really good time last year. We reserved on the phone and advised the lady that we were guests from last year. Upon arrival after a long ski day we were ready to start the long awaited sauna session, only to learn that without reservation it was impossible for us to enter the sauna neither that day nor the next morning. What struck me how the landlady made 0 effort to find a solution, even though the hotel didnt seem particularly busy. I would have appreciated a small suggestion upon reservation to book sauna in advance or perhaps a more problem solving attitude towards a returning customer. It is time to look for a new hotel in Aosta. What a pity.
We initially booked for one night and extended our stay because it is so beautiful! The hotel is gorgeous and the staff was amazing. They suggested hiking routes, advised on local festivities and recommended the best restaurants in the area. The breakfast buffet was fabulous and attention to detail was not missed. We couldn't have been happier!!
this place is really well run. very kind workers. the breakfast is clearly the highlight of the stay, it's outstanding. It's a little noisy though, as it's really close to the road. We booked this hotel through a pack and they forgot to give us the welcome drink and the farewell present... we didn't really feel like asking so just didn't mention anything.
