As value goes this is a very nice property with a good restaurant and a reasonable price. My wife especially liked the fact that there was a large indoor pool for her to swim some laps in after dinner. Not the easiest place to find, but the hospitality was sincere and generous. The rooms are older and show their age if you are used to 21st century design and ammenities. It seems to be a family hotel due to the fun park that is agjacent but there was no problem with unruly children. Close to Bitburg once you get the GPS to understand your intentions. It's an easy trip from Trier in the south or places like Cologne in the north. The Eifel region is known for beautiful scenery and it deserves the reputation.

The Waldhaus is a beautiful, family run hotel. My husband and I took our two young children (ages 5 & 3) to the Waldhaus this summer. Booking directly through their website was easy. I immediately received confirmation from Irene. The hotel is charming, efficient, and gorgeous. Our first day we fought jet lag by playing in the indoor pool and relaxing in the hot tub. The floor-to-ceiling wall of glass looked out onto a private, wooded area. Our balcony overlooked the woods and a herd of deer. Dinner was exceptional. We ate the best food of our entire stay while dining at the Waldhaus. The salads are works of art, the game is worth the trip across the Atlantic, and the kids had so many healthy and tasty options (including Zander fish). Desserts shouldn’t be missed. The hotel also has a really nice spa and a bowling alley. Breakfast is delicious with a variety of options and good coffee, tea and hot chocolate (in individual pots). Try the jams, breads, cheeses, meats, and boiled eggs, as well as the juices. Eifel Park is steps away and can easily fill the day(s). We also enjoyed country walks around the Waldhaus. If stationed in Germany, I highly recommend the Waldhaus for a weekend trip (coupled with Eifel Park, it’s its own destination), the start to your overseas trip, or a place for visiting relatives to stay. I lived here for months as a child and the Semrau Family has always made me, and now my own family, feel like the Waldhaus is a second home. My husband’s first visit to Europe was with me to the Waldhaus. He loves how the hotel is authentic and relaxing. Both he and our young children tell everyone that the Waldhaus was the best part of our recent family vacation. I couldn’t agree more. We will be back as soon as we can.

A very pleasant experience. We cycled some 90 Km to Zweifal. Very pleasant hotel. The hotel organised a lovely buffet for our group of 45. They have a nice open fire in the centre of their dining room. Small rooms but not lacking any comfort.

Waldhaus Eifel has a wonderful restaurant which can accommodate large groups easily (ours was around 50 people). Service was very good and the food hot and tasty. Due to the size of our group we had pre-ordered our selections from a varied menu. Everyone received the scrumptious goulash soup as well as a delicious side salad with green lettuce, white cabbage, shredded carrots, and a tomato (that in itself would have been an excellent meal). The fish of the day was good as was the schnitzel. The most popular menu choice of our group was the wild game plate where they bring you a hot stone and you cook your own meat. Wonderful, peaceful location (particularly if you have a car--it might be a bit challenging if you don't).
