We enjoyed the hotel and restaurant of The Moonraker over two nights in July. A well kept property with good breakfasts and wonderful dinner. Stayed in Room 10 which was very comfortable and enjoyed the local soaps and conditioner. The gardens are great.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Nothing was too much trouble. Staff all very friendly and the hotel is very well presented and clean. We had dinner in the evening and that was very good too. Thank you. Nicely positioned for Bradford on Avon which is a beautiful town. Would stay at this hotel again.

Sisters wedding reception held here, whole hotel was booked. Arrived early for check in, was made very welcome and room was available shortly after. The room was very clean, spacious and well appointed. The marquee was set out beautifully and the surroundings of the hotel are just perfect for photos. Food was plentiful and flavoursome and very good service from... More

Looking for a night's accommodation near Bath, we found the Moonraker via the net and booked. The hotel is well located for Bath, Bradford upon Avon and nearby towns. The accommodation was comfortable and the staff very helpful and friendly. We didn't eat at the restaurant as we had other plans but, if the breakfast was anything to go by,... More

Stayed 2 nights for a friends wedding. Having travelled down from East Yorkshire the 12 of us were all made to feel welcome and the staff (especially Olivia) are a credit to the hotel. Food and service was great and the rooms are lovely, as are the public areas and outdoor spaces. The Moonraker made a great wedding even better.

It felt like I was staying at my husbands house were he lived before we got our own place. Really comfortable rooms (I've stayed in a couple of different ones) well equipped with irons, ironing boards, hair driers and Neil's Yard full size toiletries! The meals are amazing and the desserts fabulous. I don't usually like dining alone when away... More

My husband & I pass everyday & decided to pop in for dinner as a non-resident; we re glad we did! The Moonraker is set in gorgeous surroundings. Dinner was exemplary. The food was seasonal and uncomplicated yet refined. Reasonable prices for such a satisfying meal that was so well executed. The service was wonderful - thanks to Olivia for... More

Very nice country atmosphere. Although the rooms are laid out like a motel it doesn't feel like one as everything is stone built with rustic artefacts around to contribute to the look. Service was excellent and friendly.

The Moonraker were excellent and attentive throughout my group booking arrangements and during my stay. Having had the breakfast on departure day I can heartily recommend the food and realised I had made a mistake not eating there with my group on the night! We will definitely be back, and will look to bring my family down for the cow... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Moonraker hotel, a grade 2 listed 21 bedrooms Manor house situated on the outskirts of Bradford on Avon/ Trowbridge and a 15 minute drive from the Bath Spa. Mentioned in the Domesday book as being part of the Abbess of Glastonbury's estate, the Manor house was originally build in Queen Ann Style before being upgraded in the 17th century to Bath stone. Purchased by Tudor & Lucy Hopkins in July 2013 the hotel has undergone a full refurbishment including transforming the restaurant into a relaxed informal dining space. Head Chef Matthew Briddon (River cafe, Paul Heathcotes) joined the team in September 2013 and has created menus around the hotels kitchen garden and onsite smokery. Nine bee hives provide the hotel honey and rare breed pigs live on the grounds. Kathy Lette (writer and author) stayed at The Old Manor and wrote an article for the Express where she said: 'The bedrooms, with their four poster beds and wide wooden roof beams, are so Jane Austen-esque I kept expecting Mr Darcy to get down on bended knee' The Moonraker oozes old world charm and is a relaxed cotsworld escape with some of the UK's top attractions on its doorstep. ... more   less
