The new guy in charge is 'chalk and cheese' compared to the last owner/manager. The new hosts are warm and welcoming and the staff seem happier too. A new restaurant is due to open soon and the 'every other Sunday quiz evenings' will continue in aid of charity. We locals need to 'use it or lose it' but this will... More

Remember the days of Roule and Sunday lunch times when you couldn't leave as roast potatoes and salt appeared on your table - we all loved it then and the L&F was always packed - dogs were welcome in the bar and given biscuits so it was an ideal stop on the Sunday morning walk. Sadly - Then there was... More

Tried to book Sunday lunch for a table of 14 for my Mum's birthday. The man on the phone could not have been more rude. He was not happy that we had called at 9.30am and quote 'I can't confirm if we have a table as we are only a pub and not a 24 hour reception'. He promised to... More

We ate here as the hotel we were staying at a few minutes away did not have a chef working that evening. The food was good quality pub food and the landlord makes his own ice cream which was so good. The pub was very friendly. If I had known that this pub had accommodation I would have booked to... More

Stayed here again for work. Nice pub with good real ale, Its always special when the locals talk to you, makes you feel welcome. I was certainly made welcome here. Room was small but just right for an overnight stay. Ordered a steak, very good. Breakfast was spot on, little odd you need to order the night before.

I only came in for a delicious plate of salad, and they, being that creepy owner Henry, brought me out a 3 course meal which i swear was swimming in Keelys spit. Every time the dirty waitress gave me another wrong meal Henry would be peering over the bar with only the top of his head showing, just smiling. After... More

Being local, I popped in on the off chance for a bite to eat and a drink. Friendly service (and the owner was in a good mood), very large portions and well cooked as well. Rumour has it that it will change ownership in the new year but who knows?

This is a pub with rooms and I feel the only thing that justified a price of £75 for a double room is its proximity to Bath. The staff were friendly and Henry the landlord was very helpful. He also makes some of the best ice cream in England. Our twin room was clean and comfortable but poorly lit and... More

I have reviewed this pub before and it wasn't great. However because this is my local i am willing it to do well so i thought I'd treat my daughter to Sundays dinner. :) I'm smiling. Very accommodating and friendly. Plenty of space in the garden for my little dog to have a wander. Sunday roast was hot and tasty.... More

Drunken rude youths in the bar when we arrived. Room fairly clean apart from dead flies in cobwebs on the window. Breakfast excellent. The breakfast was excellent. I would not recommend this place or return myself.
