Detailed Reviews
My girlfriend and I met in Cabo Pulmo after being apart for 8 months. Baja Bungalows was the perfect accommodation for our reunion! We stayed in Casa Veronica, a stand-alone bungalow behind the main house. It was so private and cozy, surrounded by a delicately-landscaped desert garden filled with cardinals and orioles that sang to us every morning and evening. The bungalows are just a few minutes walk from the center of Cabo Pulmo, so you get a perfect combination of space and privacy as well as convenience. Veronica, our host, was super helpful and full of information about the best activities in the area. Baja bungalows even had a shed full of gear that was free to use - whether to snorkel, kayak or just play on the beach. The vibes were just what we were looking for. The whole property is very clean, tastefully decorated, and masterfully integrated into the natural environment. Already looking forward to my next trip. Seriously can't recommend enough. It's hosts and places like this that make travel such a joy!

We just stayed at Baja Bungalows and would highly recommend it. Really nice accommodations. Elena was very helpful. Easy walking distance to everything in town. They also had all sorts of beach and snorkeling stuff you can borrow for free. If you are going to Cabo Pulmo, definitely check this place out.

We stayed in the Palapa Suite for 3 nights. The facilities are great and wished we had realized the outdoor kitchen was for our exclusive use, we might have brought groceries.
Everything was better than expected, so why not a 5 star review? Well because some things are out of the facilities control. The Palapa suite is right next to the big house and we were unfortunate to have guests staying there that seem to not want peace and quiet. A female guest in particular would CONSTANTLY talk super load and seemed to always want to be complaining about something and her talking was incessant , it was all done during the day which was not the quiet hours, although on one morning she was up super early and TALKING, we just wanted to chill out and enjoy the beautiful place read a book or nap on the hammock. We realize we might just have been unlucky, and we WOULD return for sure, it's just a little close to a much bigger house that accommodates large groups, so just be aware that you are steps away from the big house.

This is our second visit to the Bungalows. Just as great as the first, except that this time it was so GREEN and lush! Lots of bird and butterflies. Exceptional snorkeling and diving with Cabo Pulmo Diving. We brought our groceries in Cabo and cooked most of our meals in house. The water was clear and warm. Lynn went above and beyond, especially when we forgot one of our bags on the way to the airport and she rushed it to us where we met in La Ribera! There were 5 of us in the Main House. We used the upstairs apartment as our main hangout. Beautiful views and plenty of space for all of us. Looking forward to our next trip.

Baja Bungalows is an affordable, clean and well-located place to stay while in Cabo Pulmo. Veronica, the host, is extremely helpful and maybe the friendliest person in town. Easy access to the beach, hiking and restaurants. A safe and comfortable location.

Kent provides a wonderful place to stay by providing everything you need to enjoy the sun and the surf - chairs, kayaks, wet suites, snorkel gear, boogy boards, etc!! Not only are all the bungalow unique and comfortable, he even delivered a pair shoes we left behind. "Rudy (the dog) is friendly and the hammocks are great" says my niece. The chile bar is always open!!
Great place to hang out and enjoy what Baja has to offer.

We booked one of the bungalows for our first visit to Cabo Pulmo. It was exactly what we were looking for: quiet, rustic, and clean. It would get five stars if it weren't for three problems.
1) They say they have "limited internet" in their ads. Since my boyfriend and I both own our own businesses, we knew we would have to check in occasionally so this amenity was an important consideration with where we stayed. But, at the same time, we didn't want to be tempted to work all day, so this was a perfect arrangement for us. However, the internet didn't work for us once. So first off, if I were them, I would be specific about HOW limited the internet is in their advertising. Secondly, when I spoke with the office about the internet, the manager on duty seemed extremely annoyed that I would even ask to use some of their precious bandwidth when she had reservations to confirm over email...Again, it wouldn't have been a problem if they hadn't advertised internet in the first place. A couple days into our trip, we did learn that the dive shop across the street offers Internet access for a price.
2) When we arrived the manager on duty showed us around the house. Upon showing us the very impressive Mexican titled shower, she said "It's big and beautiful, but a pain to clean. I hate cleaning it." I could only take this to mean it wasn't cleaned very well, and sure enough when I checked when she left, it wasn't. Our first trip to the store, I bought a bottle of bleach. Not expecting it to get very clean, since the manager made it sound like she labored over it for hours, I poured the bleach on the tiles just to reassure myself that it was sanitary. The shower was spotless after letting the bleach sit for a couple minutes and then spraying it down--no scrubbing necessary!
3) When I visit a place that I'm unfamiliar with, especially a foreign country, I expect the hotel staff to at least have a basic familiarity with the surrounding area to give me suggestions for daily activities and restaurants. They are a tourist service and I consider that part of customer service. Their knowledge was very limited and I would say after just a week in Cabo Plumo, I'm more familiar with the activities and restaurants than they seemed to be.
All in all, it was a very clean, charming place to stay and I would recommend it to anyone. The service was just a little disappointing.

I made a reservation at Baja Bungalows and in my email I said that I should arrive around 9 pm. I was about an hour late
because I was photographing some wildlife. I missed the turnoff as well and had to backtrack so I arrived around 10 pm. I
also tried to call when I realized I was going to be late but couldn't get through. When I arrived there was no one to be
found. I tried knocking on the office door with no luck, not even a note about where my bungalow was. I tried to find my
bungalow with the aid of a flashlight. After quite a bit of searching I found a vacant one and since the door was unlocked
I decided to take it. I spent the night there and everything was fine. In the morning I talked with the caretaker who
said I must have just missed him the previous night and that the room I chose was the one that was reserved for me. After
I paid him he said it was OK to leave some food in the fridge while I explored the area.
I had a great day of photography highlighted by snorkeling with beautiful fish and sea lions! When I returned I
couldn't find my food and the owner (Kent) said that my food was in the office. He then gave me the third degree by saying
that it wasn't OK that I arrived when I did and that I scared some of the guests the night before when I was looking for my
bungalow. There was absolutely nothing in my correspondence with him or on the website that said one shouldn't arrive
late. He said that this is not a hotel where one can wander in anytime. Maybe he should make that clear to prospective
visitors before he jumps on them without any warning. I didn't challenge him at the time because I wanted to look at the
website and our correspondence again for any sign of a warning. Again my suspicions were confirmed. No warning about this
at all. It was Kent's fault if I inadvertently scared some of the guests. He needs to make it clear on the website at a
minimum that they don't accept guest after a certain hour. If I had known this I would have been more careful to arrive on time or made other arrangements if I was running late. After a long hot day exploring it was also disappointing to find
my water and drinks out of the fridge and warm.
My interaction with Kent left a bad taste in my mouth that lingered for days after an otherwise great day. If this
rude behavior hadn't occurred everything would have been fine. The bungalow was comfortable, staff accommodating (except
Kent) and it was a beautiful setting. It was also relatively inexpensive. Earlier that day I looked at a new place that
was connected to the Eco Adventures dive shop I went snorkeling with that had much nicer rooms for less money than Baja Bungalows. I
think the arrogance of some business owners that think they can relieve their frustrations on their customers and get away
with it demonstrates a very low PRQ (public relations quotient) and can only hurt their business. I'm not sure if I am
going to return to Cabo Pulmo in the near future but if I do I will avoid Baja Bungalows.

I visited Cabo Pulmo and stayed here with a couple other guys. Kent was outrageously accommodating and made sure there was enough space for all of us to sleep. He even had a sign greeting our arrival, telling us where to go and welcoming us. It's incredible how well he has set the place up. From the hot tub to the hammock--he has thought of everything. I was also impressed with the small details--like outdoor lighting with little chile pepper lights and christmas lights to make the place really magical..which it is. Also, the beautifully set up outdoor kitchen makes it much more budget friendly in a place that is isolated without many cheap options for restaurants. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to everyone. An amazing place for the price!

We just completed a 6 day stay at the Baja Bungalows in Cabo Pulmo. This is a very unique experience, but not for everyone. The accomadations are clean, comfortable, but this is not a resort experience. I loved it. Electricity comes from solar power so fans and lights are available. There are propane refrigerators and gas stoves. We drank water from the faucet as it comes from a clean well. This was a first scuba dive trip for my 13 and 15 yr old kids and they loved the village and the diving. We left our doors unlocked in our bungalow as the village is very safe. Diving was great and the we found the service at the Cabo Pulmo Beach resort dive shop to be excellent. The bungalows are in a small compound with beautiful grounds. We stayed in a 2 story bungalow with the adults upstairs with a view of the ocean and a great breeze and the 2 kids downstairs. Restaurants in town were excellent but plan on leisurely dinners as everything is made fresh. If your kids need video games and you want nightlife and bars this is not the place for you, but for an experience of a friendly Mexican village, pretty beachs close by, snorkling and sea kayaking, in a relaxing safe environment, I think you will love it. PS the road is dirt for the last 5 miles or so and a little rough but easily driveable in a rental car, but get full insurance on your rental. I found a huge pothole at night lets just say my insurance saved me thousands of dollars. We plan to return next year. Contact the owner and he is very helpful in answering any questions.
