From the hotel you have a wonderful panorama over the village and the surrounding area. Dinner and breakfast were excellent and the staff very friendly. Renoir at the time lived in the village, the famous painter. There is a real tourist walk around his person. And the rooms in the hotel do not have numbers, but are called like persons... More

Totally overrated acommodation resort + pretentious and expensive for what it has to offer. I came there for a "Champagne Tour", I was offered an averaged room rated as premium with a " Italian Bathroom" to justify no bidet, no batthub, lousy service and no change of towels when left on the ground, very slow wi-fi, with recurrent adds on... Just a little difficult to find but it is well worth the effort ,the reception as with all the staff , on the ball but it is handy if the visitor has a little french language ,The restaurant for dinner and breakfast was first class as was the fine view over the village

Had one of the newer rooms with, fortunately working air con. Sadly the restaurant air con wasn't working and hadn't been for some time. It was like a sauna. The present staff just don't seem to cope with one mature lady serving. She couldn't cope with more than one table at a time and we waited a long time to... More

This hotel is on a hill which overlooks the village of Essoyes, former home of the artist Pierre Renoir. The hotel has a first class restaurant with a great view. I recommend this hotel and it's restaurant.

We arrived late following a crossing from the UK to the French Alps for a week skying. Staff waited up for to arrive which was nice. Rooms were bright and airy, very bright colours the rooms which was a bit strange. Good night sleep by all had continual breakfast which cost an extra €10 each, which was ok quite a... More

I was torn between giving a 3 or 4 star rating and went with 4 because the food is good and eventually we got a decent room. In the past we have always stayed in the main building and the rooms have always had an efficient air con system. This time however the air con was non existent and we... More

At first it wasn't so easy to find as the old Logis signs seem to have been replaced by hard to see much smaller ones so you miss the hairpin junction on the D67/D11. Maybe in keeping with the village ethos? It is a modern building high above the village and strangely the rooms are below the reception level as... More

Well-located for visiting the Aube. Built in that scary-ugly modern-French design style but it is dramatically located on a hill overlooking the town. Rooms were clean and good. One note, they gave me the number of rooms I requested but for some reason they claimed that they did not have enough beds for all the adults traveling with me so... More

We had stayed at Les Canotiers in 2006 for a family wedding in the village and had then found the manager pretentious and rude. The new management team is a huge improvement - very welcoming, very helpful. Quite a different and delightful experience. Nevertheless, it remains very mixed. Dinner was delicious and breakfast extremely reasonable for 10 euros - much... More
