A Fantastic Tuesday evening spent in the Black Horse, popped in for a meal and a couple of drinks. I had the chicken fajitas and my partner had the pork escalopes in honey and mustard sauce. Both meals were very tasty indeed. The staff were very welcoming and the service was excellent. We had noticed a few people arriving with... More

First impressions of this pub/hotel were very favourable. Grassington is a very small village with narrow roads and so parking is a quiz, especially when the festival is on. There is no dedicated parking at the hotel but outside of the festival you should be able to find a spot close by. If not there is free parking about 5... More

Thank you for your review. I am very happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us. We only allow dogs in the bottom half of our restaurant if specifically requested by a guest but I do apologise if this was not to your satisfaction, we do try to keep the dogs separate. We had a lovely three day stay here. Staff were very friendly and went the extra mile - even the barman carried our large dog upstairs on two occasions when she was frightened of climbing the stairs on the first two nights! Being quite elderly ourselves we were slightly alarmed to find that our "junior suite" was a small room... More

As a group of 17 walkers, we found this hotel to be more than suitable for all of our party. Our rooms were just right and the location was perfect for us to explore the Dales on our daily walks. We ate every night in the restaurant, which always had a good choice of home-cooked meals on offer and the... More

Would highly recommend staying over at the Black Horse Hotel. Spacious rooms cleaned to the highest standard! We stayed recently and could not fault our stay. This is a town-centre pub with good, simple accommodation. The rooms seem newly refurbished, clean and comfortable. The bar is 'classic pub' with a good range of local ales as well as the usual drinks to choose from. The food is good pub/restaurant food, nothing pretentious, but perfect after a day of hiking over the fells and dales. Many walks... More

Recently visited Grassington and stayed in the black horse hotel. The room was very clean and tidy with a big 4 poster bed. The staff were friendly and helpful and the pub downstairs was homely. We ate in the hotel too and the food was first class. Would definitely recommend.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A 17th-century coaching inn in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. 15 en-suite rooms - twin, double, king-size, 4 poster (with a magnificent view into the Dales), even hostel bedrooms. Typically Dales in its interior with nary a level floor or wall in sight! Cosy bar with a log fire, and an equally cosy restaurant with a la carte or traditional fayre dishes. Plenty of superb walks in the immediate area. 50 yards from Grassington square. A full refurbishment of the bedrooms, with new bathrooms, was completed in April, as was the restaurant, complete with carvery meals at the weekends. ... more   less
