Last week my sister and I were on holiday near Strontian and decided to head off to the Arnamurchan Lighthouse and Sanna Bay. The weather was pretty awful very wet and grey so we stayed over one night at The Sonachan B&B. You have to adjust your expectations somewhat when you get there. The staff are really delightful, young and... More

Really disappointed by lack of service at Sonachan. We had a lunch there which was very pleasant but service was poor. We decided to give it another go as it was recommended by the owners of our holiday house. We had a lovely meal followed by absolutely no opportunity to have coffee or desert. We had an endless wait for... More

Hi there, thank you for taking the time to leave us some feedback. I'm pleased that you enjoyed our food here but disappointed to hear we let ourselves down on service. At the beginning of this week we completed essential training for our front of house staff and will be working harder to make sure that the customer gets all... More

During our trip on the Ardnamurchan peninsula we had a lunch at this restaurant. A small terrace and very friendly server. For my partner prawns and crab claws salad, for me the lical scallops with garlich sauce. It was simple but very good. We enjoyed our meal.

Hi there, thank you for taking the time to leave us some feedback. It's always nice to hear that folk are enjoying the local food as much as we enjoying providing it. Hope to see you again. Thanks, Sheen More

We have just spent three nights at the Sonachan. The room was lovely;clean with comfortable beds and a decent shower. The situation is ideal for visiting the beautiful beach at Sanna and for the ferry to Tobermory from Kilhoan. Food was very good and the staff friendly. As other reviewers have mentioned don't rely on the chef being there every... More

My wife and I booked in for a couple of nights as a short break. We were pleasantly surprised, the accommodation was clean and tidy, the staff very friendly and happy to help. The food was good, with generous sized portions. Thank you for a pleasant escape.

We had a large, comfortable room with a great sea view. In common with a number of other B&Bs and serviced apartments we stayed at in Scotland the bed had no mattress protector fitted. The bathroom floor tiles were lifting and the apparently planned Winter refurbishment was due. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Both the evening meal and breakfast... More

On a recent cycling holiday in the area (stunningly beautiful scenery and fantastic weather) we were book into the Sonachan hotel. And, because our transport was limited (bikes) and we were nowhere near another place to eat - we dined there too. Neither the accommodation, nor the food, nor the staff seemed remotely interesting or interested. What is it with... More

Hello there, sorry that you had such a disappointing experience with us and I'm pleased that you were still able to appreciate the wonderful area. We have given the bunkhouse a bit of a spruce up so if you're ever back in the area feel free to pop in to check it out. We've had very positive feedback about it... More

Wonderful location, with superb views especially from the dining room and lounge area. Free wifi, which was useful as phones are out of range. A good base for walking. Ardnamurchan light house and Sanna are well worth a visit. Also convenient for the ferry (car and foot) to Mull. Food was excellent, with fresh veg from the Community Garden across... More

A great hotel as a base for a holiday in Ardnamurchan. We had great holiday here with visits to Sanna Bay, Ardnamurchan lighthouse and a visit to Tobermory. The hotel is extremely comfortable with a lovely bar/restaurant and the food is always amazing, and uses fresh vegetables from the community garden. The steak pie is just delicious. Sheena and her...
