Awesome, Authentic, Original. Food was incredibly tasty tailored to my likes. All you need to do is express what are your wishes and boom you will be blown away. I was celebrating my 17 years anniversary, staff started off my day with an excellent breakfast, I then proceeded to the main toco beach about 20 mins away and the water was incredibly beautiful. My husband and I then took a massage at Anise, in which the massage therapist did wonders. Dinner was the highlight, I was totally blown away. Candles were lit from my room door to the dinner table, soft wonderful music, had a four course amazing menu with a bottle of sparkling wine. I got a visit from the manager just to ensure everything was great. Staff was awesome. This place is a MUST DO for both local and foreign tourist.

We first stayed at the Anise almost four years ago for two nights and said if we visited T and T again it would be for longer. There is always the fear that returning to a place where you have fond memories you will find it changed and be disappointed. I am pleased to say that this was not the case and next time it will have to be even longer again. Anise does not offer music, late night partying or the disco scene; it offers peace and tranquillity and the sounds of the seas. The food was exceptional, we ate as well as we have eaten anywhere in the world. We had a couple of days out. First we went with Richard, a very good local bird guide based in Grand Riviere, who showed us the Powi again plus many other local birds. We were also interested to see the first fruits of the project to produce local chocolate which will give farmers a local outlet for their beans. Second we went out with Neville who drove us up to Matelot (literally the end of the road). We learnt much about agriculture on the this trip but still could not identify edible banana trees from plantain trees unless there was fruit on the tree!! Our last day was spent just lazing around before our journey home to England and you cannot find a better place to laze around, or should one say "liming"..

I have never stayed at a resort on the north coast and since I needed some R&R my girlfriend suggested Anise Resort. We called and made reservations for a two night stay at the resort. Since my girlfriend stayed at the resort some time ago she only had great things to say about the facility. We had a late arrival to the resort but the Shervin kept in touch with us during our drive to ensure that we were ok and to estimate our arrival time. This was a very personal touch to customer service and a hint that our stay would be fabulous. On arrival we were greeted by Shervin and he took our luggage to our room while we sat in the lobby with welcome drinks. The check-in process took about 5 minutes to sign some paper work. Our hostess for the night was Margret. Margret was very polite, patient and told us that she's been "doing this for the last 13 years". Dinner was perfectly prepared with organic seasoning from the onsite garden. Our room (Jasmine) was clean, quiet and very functional. Sleep quality was 5 out of 5, this resort is absolutely super quiet. The resort is all inclusive and meals are prepared by a very competent chef. Local cuisine was prepared for the duration of our stay. We left the resort relaxed, well fed and excited to return to this north coast gem.

Easter weekend was upon us and there was no way other than swimming to get to Tobago! So, thought I would try to get close as possible and started looking online...stumbled across Anise and with just one phone call I knew I wanted to stay there! Rene was lovely, accommodating and calm over the phone. Once we arrived we were greeted with a big smile from Shervin who helped with getting our car parked, we were then welcomed with a fruit punch to relax and take in the view and fresh air! As we arrived early we were happy to sit in their amazing living area (with views of the ocean) with a library and waited till our rooms were ready..I was relaxed and happy leading through their cookery books! Our bay suite was roomy with a kitchenette and had all the essentials but to be honest their food portions are enough - you do not need any extra snacks in between! I felt all I was doing was munching my way through their glorious tasty food!! From Jackie to Christa to Margaret and her team in the kitchen, everyone made you feel special, welcomed and calm. I highly recommend Anise! Thank you from mum and me.
