First impressions count and our welcome at the Everest Hotel was excellent-friendly and efficient. Within 15 minutes we had a freshly cooked excellent meal waiting for us. Yes the bathroom is a bit dated but the room itself (room 117) is spacious and well appointed. Some of our group were interested in buying things from the shop at 9 pm... More

We stayed here in November 2015. Upon arrival we were informed that the pipes were frozen and hence no running water in the room. We had two huge pails in the bathroom that contained water for flushing the toilet. It was just as well that a shower was impossible because the towels and tub were downright filthy. Our room had... I stayed in this "Hotel" on Oct.24th for one night. I've never before stayed in such a terrible place. Water was cut off around 8 pm because - so I was told- of freezing conditions at night which could damage the water pipes. The management gave me a thermos flask with hot water which was all I got for washing... More

The hotel was the worst I have ever been in. The rooms were dank, filthy, and smelly. The bathroom was worst, standing water on the floor, unusable shower. The lobby doors were left open and there were mice in the rooms. Management seemed totally unconcerned about the conditions. A loudspeaker across the street played loud music and propaganda during daylight... More

We stayed at this hotel for two (separate) nights during a recent tour (late April 2015). The tour guide booked rooms in the newer section. It appeared the older rooms were unused but this was during a fairly light travel period. In both cases the rooms appeared to be clean, but understand they are UNHEATED. The outside temp. dipped to... More

Without a doubt our worst hotel experience in Tibet. Due to the season (November) no running water is available as the pipes freeze. Forget about a shower! The bathtub in the rather dingy bathroom is filled to the brim with dirty water that one is supposed to use to pour water down the toilet for flushing and a dirty plastic... More

Stayed as part of a tour group. The hotel is pretty old and basic, verging on shabby, though clean. My room was quiet. The hot water was very erratic. Breakfast was modest compared with other hotels in Tibet.

We stayed here for 1 night on a Tour through Tibet. First the good points. Fast wifi with good coverage across the hotel and decent breakfast (mini buffet of cereal/cake/bread at your table, then you will be served eggs, pancakes and tea/coffee). Hot water is ok, but not turned on until after 6:30pm and due to the pipe length, you... More

This hotel was part of the hotels booked in a tour in Tibet, so we didn't choose it. After reading the opinions in Trip Advisor I was terrified…but I have to say that the experience wasn't bad. It was just OK. We were there in August, so we didn't experience the freezing cold that other contributors mention. We had hot... More

Well, to find a decent hotel in this deserted town is huge luck in itself. If don't expect a moon here, you can be satisfied with the sky. The hotel is kept neat and clean with good furniture and some food to eat. Rooms are not well equipped to help guests in the fierce winter. The hotel thinks that thick... More
