I had the most amazing experience at Reserva Palmari. Just getting there is an adventure in itself, on a small motor boat on the river in the middle of the forest... Once there I discovered the super friendly team and beautiful -even if rustic- installations. Let us be clear : if you're looking for a luxury accomodation this is not...

Sleeping in hammocks in the jungle- amazing. Watching harpy eagle in the nest, kingfishers siting on trees over the water, or hummingbirds flying around and many other animals doing daily routine, unbeatable . My girlfriend catched pirana and then..........eated it for a dinner... :) ( very tasty) I have seen boa, caiman and loads of pink and gray dolphins while...

The accommodation might not seem to be a bit pricy for backpackers but don't be misled by that! All the things you get in return (most beautiful landscape, personal guides, delicious food, transport back and forth, two amazing parrots, numerous adventures such as staying in the jungle overnight and kayaking alongside pink dolphins) make this trip very well worthy and...

The Palmari Reserve is a very interesting approach to a close contact with the Amazon jungle. Preservartion and simplicity is a rule. Everything is very well organized for the visitor to choose among several possible options: walking in the jungle, paddling, bird watching, insects, spiders, etc. Guides are local people with years of experience in the region. Everything is very...

Traveling to places you have never been can be a bit overwhelming, heading hours up the Amazon even more so. But the staff was waiting for us when we landed at Leticia and were there to assist the entire trip. The Camp, while rustic, was very comfortable. Food was simple, but plentiful and not surprisingly a lot of fish. The...

I was there with my family including two kids (5 and 8 years old). We all had a wonderful time. Best part was the personalized guide who made sleeping in the jungle like a 5 star hotel. Food was great too.

A book could be written about this place. It is in the middle of the jungle and it is worth to visit only for the sound of the nature in the early morning. You are deep in the jungle. The staff is very professional ( thank you Claudia) and the local guides very experienced. My guide Pinduca was simply part...

Our family of four, including 2 young girls spent 4 nights here and had an amazing time in the middle of the Amazon. All the staff and volunteers were really friendly and the food was excellent. We went on jungle treks, fished for Piranha, spotted dolphins and caiman. The highlight was spending a night in a hammock in the jungle...

I have never in my life been so excited and scared to stay in the Amazon jungle! 7 days in the Amazon! After 11 hours of plane transfers I was picked up to start this adventure by one of Palmari's friendly staff. The three hour boat/pickup truck/boat ride was worth the trip to get there and an experience all to...

“My option was the hammock in the Enramada, that was clean and cool. No mosquitos at all (rain season). ”

“If you want somewhere quiet and want more privacy go for the private rooms. However, The Maloka is more than suitable however.”
simono479, Jan 15, 2016 | Read review
“We chose a private hut, but this was a mistake - the heat in the jungle is unbelievable, and the otherwise spatious room traps the heat, making sleep even in the nice bed a bit miserable. The maloca is much cooler at night, when we go back at some point in the future, we will choose that.”

“I'd go with the cheaper backpacker's option as the difference between this package and the lodge package is minimal.”
