I really wanted to love it here, not only because it's eye-wateringly expensive but because the communication up to departure had been 10/10. Unfortunately the trip didn't live up to expectations. Firstly, when we arrived on site no one greeted us. It's apparent that there is no one there acting as a "manager/face of the place" for the site - it's made up of volunteers and guides (the people that take you out on your walks etc). We were dumped in the dining area and my partner had to go and actively seek someone to help us - where are room was, how things worked etc. They didn't tell us how we could access water or show us around the facilities. This place needs a permanent member of staff to take ownership over best practice for the volunteers there. The activities were good, although kayaking was the most popular and they only had 3 working when we were there. When you're paying them £400 per night you'd figure they could invest in the facilities a bit more. The food/drinks was fine - it's marketed online as unlimited soft drinks/beer. This isn't true. Also, we were there for 5 nights and even though we requested new towels we never got them, totally gross. Look, no one goes to the amazon expecting luxury and you certainly don't get it here, but it's almost like the owners (who are nowhere to be seen) have no idea what's happening here and need better oversight to ensure better service to people who are paying a lot of money to be there.

Dear Daniel & Thomas, we can say only "oh dear! what lousy service did we grant!" and apologize for the inconveniences you guys suffered. Indeed, it is a high priority instructed to our volunteers to be the first faces to be seen by our arriving clients, receive, show around and assist the guests from second 1 of their arrival - we have taken action accordingly, not only at the visitors centre but will work on revising our protocolls and follow-up accordingly. Further, yes, from our 7 kayaks 2 are being re-furbished in Leticia and on our shopping list the adding of new ones is priority - we have pushed our Leticia administrator to follow your lead and speed-up the process for having them in full and in sound condition, soonest. And yes, correct, our supplying of beer, rum, caipirinha and cachaza as only alcoholic drinks is not unlimited, this remark being described in forums, reviews and other on-line sites is not true and understandably harms us; we are not a "drink 24° and until you drop bar" and initiate offering beer at lunch time, stronger drinks from +/- 15:00° and only until 21:30°, all of them as long as the stock lasts and strong drinks are stopped to be provided to consumers who show signs of having "drank over the limit" and/or become a nuisance - we will revise our lines in the web-site, vouchers, quotes and other on-line material in order to have this made clearer and more visible being very sorry for the misleading information you took for granted. The lack of changing your bedding cloths and towells has also been addressed by us from the main offices immediately, as you are right, this may not stand and to make sure that in the heavy rainy months have ordered the buying of 24 additional sets just to be certain that at least regarding the stock being present there is no lacking. Daniel, Thomas, we are still investigating as to the seemingly absence of Elías, main administrator of the visitors centre as you reported and our Melanie and Santiago will revise during the next, few days the scenario surrounding his responsibility of surveying the volunteers and will see to it that your important and worrying remarks are being grasped and taken care of , further the travelling date of their "control & follow-up" visit scheduled for February having been pushed forward to next week, precisely in order to ascertain the review of your complaints... Of course not only regarding your sour experience but with view to all future visitors, we are highly interested to correct these details, but also are open to hear from you how we can "fix the damage": are you guys still in Bogotá or will you be in Bogotá prior to ending your Colombia trip so we could meet and come forward somehow in order to "sooth the pain a bit" or might you propose any other remedy you believe is appropriate? Apologizing again, also thanking you for letting us know al this and being crystal-clear so we can really process and improve/correct protocolls and instructions based upon these facts, we remain in expectancy of your further thoughts and remarks, with kind regards, your "Grupo Travesías" and "Reserva Natural Palmari" team

I had really unforgettable and excellent experience. Was overwhelmed by staff approach and kindness. They went not an extra mile but tens extra miles!! Despite the language barrier (I speak Polish and English and most of them Portuguese and Spanish) they were always on their toes to help. There were also very kind volunteers, speaking English, German, Polish and French. The place itself is situated in a wonderful and peaceful part of our Amazonia. With its natural beauty, which we explored together with our amazing, very skilled and knowledgeable guides. Food and accommodation were excellent too. And there is not even one thing I could think of as an space for improvement. If you want to be close to nature and are ready for adventures, this is the place for you to come. And the best news is that you can do it all year round!

Brilliant, that you loved the place, we look forward to having you with us during the "other half of the year when Amazonia changes 180°" - you visited us during the low water season, now have to visit during the high water season and please do not forget that Palmari is "your house" in Amazonia! Thank you very, very much from your GTR & RNP team!

We arrived as a family of six at Leticia airport and were met by a member of the team and a volunteer. From there we took a boat along the Amazon to the lodge and from then we forgot everything about the outside world - internet, everyday life - and immersed ourselves in jungle life for a few days. We slept in hammocks in a dormitory for those nights. Awoke at dawn and climbed the bird watching tower to watch the jungle come alive. Night treks to look for tarantulas, bathing in nearby ponds were enjoyed by all our group. Boat trips to watch dolphins and sunsets. The list is endless. We had an amazing stay. It felt like a system reboot after life in London! Valera our guide was amazing, as were the volunteers Daniel, Daniela and Florian. We became friends with all the volunteers and fellow guests. We were travelling around Colombia for 5 weeks staying in Airbnb’s, 5 star hotels - this was a highlight. Thank you to everyone from all of us

What an amazing stay! We stayed here for 3 great nights. The cabin was great (clean, good mosquito protection, spacious) and we were were able to enjoy the sounds of nature all night long. Also the activities that they offer are really nice. Especially the fact that you can just tell them your preferences, and they really think along with you. The activity book they use at first, didn't offer for example a tracking trough the jungle. Just tell the great volunteers and they will help you along, and they make it possible: the result was an awesome tracking of 4/5 hours were we enjoyed the forest, animals, flowers, and everything in between. Also the professional guides really have their knowledge and they love to share it with you! Overall, a stay I would recommend to everyone! Greetings from Holland

We have just returned from this wonderful reserve . We spent six nights there but could have happily stayed much longer . It’s a beautiful place , the amenities are great for such a remote place , we did many activities and the friendly guides and volunteers did everything to make sure we enjoyed our stay . The kitchen staff did a fine job in providing us with delicious food , especially the river fish and there was plenty of it . I will definitely return to this brilliant place . A huge thank you to everyone there . Including Tutu thé toucan .

Thank you, "global320406":-) These are the best "thank yous" we can receive from our dear guests, as it motivates us to continue to serve in excellence, or better! We will of course re-forward this message to our team and volunteers at the visitors centre from our main offices in both BOG and LET! Our house is your house in our little green paradise and we very much look forward to having you with us again and again and again and again, any time! We remain, with a big hug, from all the team at GTR and RNP, always here for you!
