It is our second visit to Hotel Mayto, we returned because we loved the first time we went there. The remote location plus the services they have are very good; Pool, Wi-Fi, Lounge chairs, Parking, Restaurant and basic amenities inside the room although none of this compares to the exquisite view and virgin beach that they have. Unfortunately, on this visit we suffer the worst experience we have lived inside a hotel. On our first night, around 10:00 pm, we were ready to rest when the security officer came to knock on our door, notifying us that we had a call at the reception desk, which was strange for us since no one knew we were staying there. Entering the reception, the receptionist hands me the phone without first asking if I knew this person. The call was about extortion, which was a very unpleasant moment, the girl at the desk gave my complete info to a stranger on the phone. We could not rest that night even though they changed our room, made us have a very bad time and of course we had to return the next day for our own safety. I asked for a refund of the second night that I had already paid and they told me that they could not do it besides that I also asked for an invoice which I have not received yet. We expected a better deal after living something as unpleasant as extortion. This is something that no guest should live in a rented accommodation and for security they should never share guest information.

Hotel has only 12 rooms. So no worry about over crowding. Great grounds, well maintained. Nice well kept pool, only steps from the ocean. Palaps on the beach with chairs. Not all rooms are ocean view. Had an ocean view room on the first floor. Very clean, Split air conditioner, king bed. And a modest bathroom. Hotel has a restaurant and bar on site. Great prices, and food is good. Service can be a bit slow at times. Not much else around the area. Good for a few days of just chilling out from the hustle bustle of Puerto Vallarta. And all the staff a very friendly and helpful. A little bit of Spanish goes a long way here. Go, you won't regret it.

We found this place online a few years ago and have been wanting to come here ever since. This trip we finally made it, although it wasn’t easy! It is a jaw dropping place on first impression! We arrived on a Wednesday in the afternoon and felt like we were the only ones here. So quiet, so huge, so beautiful! I’m pretty sure we will never be back this way for a number of reasons. One, it is VERY isolated. This may change soon and probably will. There is nothing here but a beach that goes for miles, a few barking dogs, and a hotel that is lovely but mostly empty. The place is clean, well maintained, well staffed, and perfect if you want solitude and very long beach walks. There is a lovely pool as well, and a restaurant/bar. We came here prepared to sit on the beach and read for five days. Way too long. Three days at Mayto Beach would be enough- you can swim in the ocean if you are very brave- it’s extremely rough and a bit dangerous. I did not swim. My husband did, and found it daunting. The food at the restaurant is fine. Not too exciting, but inexpensive and plentiful. The staff have some English, but not much. We found them very helpful and friendly. If you can get here, by all means do- stay a couple of days and enjoy this incredible place before it is inevitably developed for more tourists! Also, it’s probably best to have a car when you come- makes it a bit easier to take a few side trips. Definitely check out the seafood in neighboring Tehuamixtle! Only ten minutes drive down the road-totally worth it!

Our family has been tracking México for years and finally found this amazing private oasis. A must visit with teal waters! You feel like you are on a private island with your own private restaurant/ beach and pool! Top notch!

Spent 3 nights here recently on a trip to PV. A bit out of the way - 2 hour drive from PV but well worth it. Quiet, gorgeous scenery accommodations are nice, staff very friendly. Didn’t eat much at the restaurant as there is an awesome seafood restaurant in nearby town on the harbour. Cande’s bar and grill. But the lobster tacos were great. 2nd floor room with sea view was excellent. Yes the hotel is a bit older but in good repair. Pool was very nice. Turtle sanctuary next door. Very cool to help release them at sunset. The sunsets were beautiful.
