I spent two nights at Barandaz Ecolodge and I loved it. Hossein is a great host and made sure to make my stay a great experience. The room was spacious and super clean, the food was the best I had on my trip and the village is located in an incredible spot, just 5 mins walk from the sand dunes of the Mesr desert where I could just sit and enjoy in the full moon rising over the mountain on the horizon. It was an unforgettable stay and I will definitely be coming back on my next visit to Iran. Thank you Hossein!

Such a lovely place for people who wants to enjoy their travel in desert . You can use the dark night of the desert to see stars in the sky. I invite every person who travel to desert to experience a wonderful night.

Staying at Barandaz Lodge was the best place for us in Iran. Mr. Mohsen is really nice dude and he made us feel like at home in the middle of the desert. The guesthouse is in the oasis and the sand dunes are 50 meters away. Rooms are nice and clean and the atmosphere of the place is so relaxed. Food was the best we had in Iran, it's all local from the Mesr village. We took an awesome two days desert tour with Adventure Iran and that was really special experience. On our next trip to Iran we are definitely spend a few days at Barandaz again.

I was pretty exhausted from touring by the time we reached Barandaz, but it was perfect for just that: resting. I slept so long and so contentedly, and ate so well, and just read and wrote and relaxed all day, and watched the sunset on the dunes. What a beautiful place. I hope I get to come back someday.

We stayed at Barandaz lodge 1-4 December 2014. This is probably the best place to stay in Farahzad / Mesr (we had a look at four other guesthouses before choosing Barandaz). The host family is very helpful and friendly, you can feel that they care for their place which has been family property for generations.

Our room was well cleaned. The food was delicious and made from local products. On request, we were served camel milk - and Hossein and his family even made lakhooli - which is a meat soup cooked in a well covered pot buried under fire and ashes for hours and hours. That was the best soup we have ever eaten!

We went camel riding and for a jeep safari - both were great fun and well organised.

Your hosts will serve you tea flavoured with local wild thyme, We suggest that you buy this wild thyme ("avishan") from the guest house shop: it's a wonderful souvenir to bring home. We can still see the beautiful sand dunes of Farahzad when we are drinking our morning thyme tea here at home in Norway.

everyone in the family are so nice, we felt home when we stay there. we love the foods so much, it's the best food we had during our stay in Iran. We had the desert safari, so exciting! In the middle of the dessert, the most quiet and beautiful sunset, and a cup of hot tea&biscuit. We were so happy and relax in the tirp! A place should not miss in Iran!

Best place we stayed in during our trip to Iran. Best part was camping out in the desert alone with just our guide which was truly an unforgettable experience. Food is great too, loved the home cooked camel and they had the best dates I've ever tasted in my life!

A perfect oasis in the desert!
Our stay started with a very warm welcome from Houssain, the owner, serving my husband and I a delicious tea after a very long drive from Naein.

Our traditional room in the single-storey building was spotlessly clean complete with carpets under foot, comfortable traditional bedding and. electricity. Houssain personally took us on a short walk around the oasis, including up on to the roof via a staircase to get our first view of the undulating sand dunes highlighted by the sunset .

The food was delicious and meal times were shared by all the guests together,

Next day we were taken out on safari in a 4X4 by 'Uncle' to experience the magnificent vastness of the desert including roaming camels at a water hole and huge areas of seashells in the sand, indicating former sea beds. all enhanced by walking bare foot in the soft warm sands and relaxing over a cup of wild Thyme tea prepared over a brushwood fire by 'Uncle' as we rested in the shade of a convenient bush. It was magical.

Our 2nd day at the lodge was my birthday and a surprise party was organised Houssain and our tour guide Mohammad Akbari and ALL the other guests staying at the lodge joined in. A birthday cake with candles had been prepared and we danced and laughed a lot.
The personal touch and friendliness of the staff of the lodge was fantastic and we can whole heartedly recommend a stay! We truly hope that we will be able to return one day.

We were wonderfully surprisedwhen we arrived there. A place of peace and joy in the middle of the desert. Our host prepared the birthday of my husband, gave him presents. I was so please I even forgot to really thank them. I hope they don't think I am rude. The organized a tour in the desert for us. The views in the morning are precious. And the food they cooked was such a pleasur. Thank you to the grand mother.

It takes a long time to get there and it's totally worth it, even for only a day and a half. The family has restored their old home just enough to make it clean and comfortable (modern bathroom) while keeping all the old elements that let you disappear into a desert settlement. It's a family house where you sleep in comfortable bedding on the floor, looked after by family members, not a hotel plopped down on the site. The stars at night, sunset from the roof, baby camels, a long camel ride and a delicious stew made from older relatives..we loved it all. This was a great experience.

Same as above, we booked with them via email. They were very helpful even after we changed our dates a number of times and only confirmed at the last second! We travelled there from Isfahan by catching a bus from Kaveh Bus Terminal to Khur where we got a taxi to Barandaz for the remaining 45 minute drive into the desert. The bus was one of the colourful old Mercedes buses, not the "luxury" kind which are available on other routes.

Hello, Thanks for your answer. Not possible to open your website... We are two women from France, we'll arrive in Iran in Esfahan, march the 6th, and I planned to phone you as soon as I had bought a Sim card, and confirm our reservation. Regards, Martine
