Having driven halfway down France and the best option for food being McDonalds on the peage. ( huge mistake ) we arrived at the hotel to find A) secure gated parking B) the traditional hand sanitiser within 3 m wherever you are C) since restaurants are all closed, a takeaway 3 course meal of jambon and salad with a light cheese mousse, duck with lentils and pomme de terre and enough desserts to scare me, followed by a wee chocolate and some seriously pungent cheese D) a bottle of local house white which turned out to be very good I really look forward to returning and seeing what the chef can do when we sit down in the restaurant if that was a takeaway.

Stopped here on our way down to the south. The annexe is tastefully renovated, rooms are quiet, with balconies and the bed was very comfy. Lovely restaurant with excellent service in the main hotel. Highly recommended.

Very pleasant hotel in centre of town with parking and rooms in annex very nearby. The evening meal was served in the main Hotel and was thoroughly entertaining. The family were serving dinner and did it with such style. They are very attentive and very experienced hosts. Nothing was too much trouble and the food was first class. After Dinner they seemed concerned that we had only had main course and brought us a fruit bowl and chocs and little cakes. Nice touches and excellent hospitality. Would certainly stay there again.

We first stayed at this hotel en route to the Med in 2003 and swore that we would return. We finally made it again this summer again en route, there and back, to the Med. The accommodation has been updated to a new very comfortable and fully equipped annex. The hotel remains in the same family ownership and the restaurant is as exceptional as ever. Superb quality local cuisine cooked to an exceptional standard with no reference em to drizzle, jus or coulis - Masterchef eat your heart out! If you are travelled down through the Auvergne I can thoroughly recommend this marvellous hotel and restaurant. You won't be disappointed.

We had an overnight stay here after a long day's drive from Avignon. The accommodation is not in the old building, but a couple of streets away in a modern annex with a secure car park. Rooms were modern, clean and comfortable. Breakfast, very good, is served in the annex, but the restaurant for dinner is in the main building. What a restaurant! Lots of locals were eating there, always a good sign. There was a choice of set menus, excellent value, and the food and service was outstanding, from the amuse-bouche to the cheese board (they leave it with you, unusual for France!) We would return here if in this area again. It's not far to Clermont-Ferrand and the Puy de Dome.
