Stayed Friday for one night on the way home from a week in the Dales. Great little village surrounds the pub/restaurant which is classic low beams and welcoming atmosphere. Beer is as you'd expect..Black Sheep and others on tap. We ate in the restaurant where the food and service was excellent. The owners make a point of mingling and chatting... More

Visited with my wife & 3 children, whilst stopping near Thurs, for a few days. I went in, to see if they had a table for 5, the not so happy looking gentleman behind the bar looked a bit worried, & muttered something about it being near the end of service & the chef might not be happy.......it was 18:30... We ate twice at the restaurant. The service is friendly and efficient. The food a cut above pub food though it does also have the staples. Traditional bar food can be taken as half portions for smaller appetites or children.

This is the third time staying here in last 5 years and it has even improved since last time with consistent ,helpful, cheerful and capable staff who acknowledged us a repeat patron. Unfortunately we could only get 1 night as it was fully booked the other night needed ,hence its deserved popularity .Real ales and lagers were of suberb quality and... More

My review here is of the restaurant and bar not the hotel, but heard the hotel is also first class and has an amazing breakfast. Visited at very short notice on our return from a day in York, so glad we did. Nice pub with friend bar and waiting staff. Good menu, caters for all tastes. Classic burger for me... More

Easingwold is the perfect English village with the air of Georgian country life. The George sits within the market square providing fine food, ales and hospitality as must have been enjoyed by generations of travellers. Full marks to Matt the chef whose attention to detail brings alive a delicious variety of options with ingredients sourced from local suppliers. We only... More

We arrived in easingwold after riding our bikes from bridlington, hoping to find any accomodation. The George was fully booked however the bar staff went above and beyond by phoning around local hotels and Inns and found us a room elsewhere but nearby (despite the bar being busy at the time). This really is great 'customer care' and much appreciated.... More

We chose The George as a central point to explore the local area, Fountains Abbey, Ripon, Malton, Pickering, Nunnington Hall and Beningbrough Hall and of course Easingwold. What a great choice. We ate at the pub each evening. Ribeye steak, lamb rump, venison steak, barn reared chicken breast, belly pork and rock bass were all fantastic. Really well cooked and... More

We stayed here overnight, received a warm welcome from very friendly staff who are happy to make your stay a comfortable one. Restaurant is well presented with a wide menu and daily specials - everyone will find something nice to try - and the bar is welcoming. We were allocared a room in purpose built accommodation at the rear of... More

We were looking for a country inn with reasonable prices to tour York. We found The George at Easingwold online and booked 5 rooms without knowing much about the area or the inn. We were very pleasantly surprised with the quaint village, the inn itself and the pub. We arrived in tired and hungry after a long day of driving... More

Thank you for your review - we are pleased that we satisfied your family's needs on your whistle stop tour of the UK. One night's stay between London and Edinburgh does not do justice to what this country had to offer. More
