This 5 star Portuguese hotel has recently been bought by the Spanish Parador chain (their first venture into Portugal) and hasn't been with them long enough for them to fully stamp their own brand on it. This may be a good thing, or not, depending on how you view Paradors! Personally I have been visiting Paradors for well over 20... More

The Casa Da Insua was a perfect start to our trip. Is it a 5 star hotel? To be honest I am not hugely concerned with that, the point is that even the standard room was plenty large enough and very pleasant. The house is fascinating and the gardens are superb - an attraction in their own right. The service... More

We booked this place thanks to the amazing reviews and because we were told it was one of the best places for wine tasting. However it was quite a disappointment for us. And unfortunately not even the beautiful building and nice restaurant saves it from an experience that is definitely not 5 star. First thing to point out has to... More

I arrived at Casa da InSua with my husband and another couple. I was very impressed with the grounds and rooms. The morning breakfast buffet is the best in Portugal. I had many and this one is by far the best. I would only recommend this place if you are a couple on a honeymoon or just want to get... More

Came here with guide for a wine tasting. The property from the 18th century is very well kept and the museum is interesting. The wine is excellent and the spread for the tasting was over the top. Rooms to stay are nice but not cheap. Very pretty grounds. Large restaurant

Gorgeous gardens and grounds. Service was great. A lovely place to stay for a few nights while exploring the wine regions in central Portugal. All rooms are different types and sizes -- from gothic style to more modern, so be sure to ask a lot of questions.

A wonderful manor house full of history, palace like rooms, lovely gardens, Italian and french styles, it as a museum and a lovely chapel. They keep some rooms, the chapel and two kitchens as they where one hundred years ago.

Very nice place for a weekend or even for vacation. Very quiet and nice food. They have a museum inside that you should not miss, especially the part of the games (open air). They produce cheese and wine that you should try. Good relation between price and quality.
