Discover a beautiful corner of rural France– Camping and Gites in Gers You will find this little gem of a campsite nestled in the rolling, varied, landscape of Gers. If you like somewhere a little bit off the beaten track then you’ll love Le Poteau. It is a beautiful, friendly natural site, built around the farm buildings and land of an old winery and orchard. Our gites are in an amazing and unique location. Perched on the hillside they have a truly rural, relaxed feel. Very comfortable inside but perfect for outdoor living with large terraces and meadow all around. Le Poteau is an ideal base to discover this beautiful area of Soiuth West France. Winding roads lead you to all sort of dicoveries. Beautiful views, historical villages, Roman remains, ancient forests, winding rivers and of course, wonderful markets and restaurants.

Warm welcome from Alisdaire and Fiona.Perfect location for exploring Pays d’Armagnac. Market at Eauze and Cathedral at Condom especially good! Thanks for the recommendation... Camping amongst the mirabelle and apple trees made for a relaxing stay in this beautiful place. Highly recommend 😀.

Many thanks. That is really kind. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay. I've just been collecting the last of the fallen apples - mainly for the compost now but still a few treats for the donkeys. Hope to see you again.

Our first acquaintance with Le Poteau and the Gers but probably not the last, what a great place this is. We were here for 4 nights on this by far the best place of our holiday. Thérèse is peace and space at this campsite and the hospitable warm welcome ensures that you feel right at home. The beautiful and super clean sanitary facilities, which are cleaned many more times during this COVID-19 time, also make your stay very pleasant. Bread service possible, delicious croissants etc. and a table d'hôtes is also regularly organized. Beautiful village within walking distance with good small supermarket and good restaurant by the lake. Beautiful surroundings, beautiful villages / towns. Thanks to Alasdair and Fiona and until next time! Rikus and Tina

We (2 x adults 2 x children) stayed for a few days last summer and had such a relaxing time. Alasdair and Fiona made us feel very welcome. We hired the fully equipped tent and it had everything we needed and was extremely comfortable. We absolutely loved their foodie evening. Great place, so relaxing, very slow pace, perfect for a wind down. Highly recommended!

After 6 nights at Le Poteau, I can truly say it's the best campsite we've ever stayed at. The setting is utterly beautiful - full of fruit trees and quiet spaces, and two very friendly donkeys! From the moment we arrived, Alasdair and Fiona made us feel totally at home - providing a glass of delicious local wine on arrival, and sharing their absolute wealth of knowledge on the local area. We chose to stay in the equipped tent, which had everything we could possibly have wanted for our six night stay: a lovely comfortable double bed, cooking equipment, coffee, the lot! We were so well looked after, I'm not even sure we can tell people we went 'camping'. From the fresh pastries delivered every morning, to the stunning meal Alasdair whipped up on the Sunday night, we couldn't fault the service. We will 100% be returning and would urge anyone who's dithering to go ahead and book ASAP!

On arrival your greeted with a glass of wine and given an little tour of toilets/ shower block which is more like a boutique hotel or spa than a campsite spotlesly clean with everything you might need there's even a washing machine room. The pitches are ace with bril views and adjoining part of the site is a field with 2 donkeys in they walk over to the fence for a pat but I always ended up talking to them. The campsite is next to vineyards and it is just beautiful peace and quiet. There's even a secluded pool hidden away in one of the fields. Just a few mins walk down a track and your at an old town with a couple of bars that serve quality wine cheaper than beer and a few restaurants that serve good food at good prices. The campers we spoke to had been a several times before and I'm sure we will return too as it's by far the best most relaxing 4 nights camping we've had. The atmosphere of sat sipping wine looking up at stars that seem so close is unforgettable. Thanks to our wonderful welcoming hosts.
