My overseas friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our 2-night stay at Gabus, the warm reception by Matti and Mrs Heidi Kühl, the excellent dinner and breakfast, the sundowners on the terrace overlooking the water hole. My guest also enjoyed her very informative morning game drive. Thank you, Mrs Kühl and team for an experience we will certainly repeat in future. Margaretha Polzin, Windhoek
Waking up in the early hours of the morning to see a giraffe standing right outside our chalet veranda made our stay memorable (obviously can’t be guaranteed). Staff on check-in very warm and welcoming, chalet was as advertised – comfortable, large and clean, with a good view of the waterhole and surrounding areas. Lovely to sit inside or on the private veranda and watch life happen. Various nice sitting options in the ‘reception/restaurant’ area if you want to access Wifi. Didn’t have the dinner (N$330 per person), but the breakfast was good with nice little touches and extras. Didn’t use any other facility or take any tours because we only stayed one night. There wasn't a great deal of wildlife coming to the waterhole when we were there, but this didn't affect our enjoyment of staying here. …
Good location, Fine view of the waterhole, top quality of breakfast and dinner, rooms and tents in very good and clean conditions, very pleasant hosts with a lot of information about surrondings and activities, top place for stop after a long trip through Namibia of before you start to Etosha of VicFalls
A fantastic location, with a waterhole just metres from the terrace and restaurant area, means you can let animals come to you. With a set of binoculars you can have hours of fun watching the wide variety of animals and birds. Food is very good and makes a nice change from the buffet experience of big game lodges. The owners could not help enough to inform us about life in Namibia and to help us plan activities around the ranch. We did a 2-3 hour hike through the ranch, perfectly safe and not too challenging terrain. Gabus also helped arrange a visit to a family nearby that produce wine, and that family had fascinaing stories and experiences to share during our wine tasting. Stay here, you will be glad that you did !
Set menu dinner and breakfast were great. We booked a game drive which was relatively expensive at Nab $495/person. We saw mainly antelopes and giraffe and although the guide was v knowledgeable the guided drive in Etosha was more interesting. Great room and excellent staff. Easy to find. A good stop on the way to Etosha from Windhoek.
