I was lucky enough to spend a week here as part of a knitting/walking group. Pierre has made a very special retreat here -- the food is absolutely delicious, the accommodation quite comfortable, the setting is gorgeous, and the welcome is warm. I had the Foula space all to myself (in the new addition). The oldest part of the house... More

I stayed here as part of a knitting retreat. Our party had the whole house and I shared the Burrastow Loft in the newer addition with 2 other women. The accommodations were fantastic and the older rooms were very beautifully furnished, but the real star here is the food. Breakfasts were delicious and made to order. Fresh juice, fresh baked... Had a lovely time in this warm comfortable hotel. wonderful evening meal. Definitely the best breakfast I've had ever. Really fresh orange juice, croissants and my favourite choice of local kippers but most people were having full cooked breakfast. Thankyou pierre and anna

Some of the best food we have had in a hotel . To be honest the outside of this hotel looks a little dilapidated but the interior is warm and extremely comfortable whether in the old rooms or the loft room in the extension. Location is tranquil and absolute peaceful with fantastic views. The food is out of this world.... More

This is an eighteenth-century House situated in a beautiful location overlooking the Island of Vaila which is operated as Guest House. They are also open to non residents for evening meals. Pierre is a superb chef and the meals are decided by him so it was pot luck! Not a problem as all the food was excellent and served in... More

This is a wonderful hotel. The location is extraordinarily peaceful, almost surrounded by the sea. This was our second stay - both the modern rooms and those in the old house very comfortable. The older rooms a bit more charm but the whole hotel is full of character. No choice meals but Pierre will adapt the menu if there is... More

Arrived on bicycles having come quite some way. Sign from main road said 1.5 miles but it was over 2 hilly miles - this is significant if you've been cycling all day! On arrival, very attentive owners gave us tea and biscuits in the conservatory. Dinner was excellent - no choice but really well cooked, and we got an extra... More

Stayed 6 nights at Burrastow House with Mrs F and was very pleased we made the decision. Excellent tranquil location overlooking the water with excellent walking directly from Burrastow and further afield. Stayed in the Vaila room which is vast in size overlooking both the water and garden/fields. Even spotted the occasional otter and seal from the bedroom window! As... More

We stayed at Burrastow House in May of 2016, and had a wonderful time. The hotel is an old house, refurbished, and we had a suite in the main building. Its setting on the water is breathtaking and evening walks along the shore are very nice. And we enjoyed meeting the shetland ponies in a nearby field. We signed up... More

3 friends stayed in the adjoining Vaila rooms. Extremely comfortable mattresses, lovely 4 poster, pretty twin room although beds very squeaky. Food a highlight. We had delicious risotto, Lemon sole then chocolate cake with a hint of fennel! Delicious wine selection of predominantly French wine, well priced given the remote location. Pierre was lovely and my only regret is that... More
