Relaxing hotel. The problem we had was on arriving: our driver get lost and he passed the hotel of 100 km.. and so another 100 km. to come back. About 5 hours lost on driving. The restaurant of the hotel was very elegant. In the morning we did some walking near the shore of the lake to see some birds. The only problem was the presence of a lot of mosquitos!

We stayed here for two nights part way through an extensive safari tour having spent 7 days on the road. The hotel accommodation is excellent and the situation on the lakeside perfect especially at sunset. As with all the places we stayed in Tanzania the people were kind friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed the trip from the hotel to a local fishing village where we had a fascinating morning learning about the village and visiting the local school. The organised bird watch in the evening was worth attending for the sight of 2 eagle owls alone. The hotel has a large number of peacocks which wander round the grounds and join you on the balcony of your room, we loved it.

We came to Serenity after spending the week on a safari. We spent a few days there before heading home to relax and enjoy the peace of Lake Victoria. It did not disappoint! Each room has its own private pool which we took full advantage of. The entire property has beautiful peacocks roaming and is beautifully decorated. Food was fantastic as was the service. The Lake is one of the most gorgeous things we have ever seen and sitting out watching a sunset is a must! We highly recommend coming here if you're looking for some rest and relaxation!

We had a one night stay, as a group of nine there, and it was relatively pleasant. The ground were well kept, the rooms were clean and functional. The location was superb by the lake, with a wonderful sunset view, and a nice place to sit by the sea to enjoy the breeze. However, do note the abundance of flying insects, some rooms had nettings which did not work well and the occupants found themselves invaded. The restaurant had strangely very dark and dingy lighting. We could barely make out what we were eating both at night and in the morning. The food was rather average compared to all the other places we have stayed in the Serengeti or in Masai Mara. It was strange that a place in the bush could provide better food. The lunch box was also very lacking. Despite the choices, we found the sandwich to be just two slices of bread, and a tiny portion of ham in them. Most of the group went throughout the long journey quite hungry.

The name "Serenity on the Lake" sums it up pretty well! It's the perfect little hideaway only 20 minutes away from Serengeti. From the graceful peacocks just outside your room, to the beautiful sunset views off the lake, it was the perfect way to relax and unwind after spending 4 days in the Serengeti! The poolside bar is a great place to grab a cold drink and admire the gorgeous views of Lake Victoria. The barbecue dinner was cooked to perfection and the service staff was attentive and professional. The rooms were spacious and had all the necessary amenities.
